Advanced Fence & Gate

Craig came out and took measurements and discussed various options. I had two other estimates, one higher, one lower. The reason I chose Advanced is they were the only ones who dug the post holes to 42", not 36" as the other two. Our city does not have codes regulating post hole depth, but I was told that 42'"is considered the frost line. Also Advanced was the only company that suggested having 4" x 6" posts on the hinge side of the 6' gates. And they guaranteed their gates for a longer period of time than the others. The crew worked efficiently/quickly, cleaned up the site nicely. Upon completion, there were some boards that needed to be replaced. Todd agreed and the crew came back out to replace them. A minor adjustment to one of the gate latches was also made several months later. All in all, a good experience.

I contacted Todd Kopke of Advanced Fence & Gate to install a 54ft-long, 6ft-tall vinyl fence along my backyard property line. Todd had installed some of the same fencing in my yard over 9 years ago and has provided excellent service when required since. Todd came out to view my yard, then submitted a bid for $2500, which I accepted. I obtained the village permit, and we scheduled the installation. It went smoothly, and, in just over 2 hours, the job was completed. His crew of Manny and Julio do quality work. I give Todd and his company my highest recommendation.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience. This is the 2nd time in 11 years that I've hired them, and this experience went as well as the first. My 5 month old basset puppy conveniently found where some slats in my fence were broken, and started making unauthorized forays into my neighbors' yards. In addition, an old security gate had rotted out at the hinges. Todd came over to assess and estimate repairs and replacement of the gate. He provided the estimate very quickly, and once I sent the deposit, he got it on the schedule immediately. His crew completed the repairs quickly and cleaned up all debris completely. Everything looks great! I appreciated that Advanced Fence didn't consider this too small of a project. I also appreciate how reasonable the estimate was. Finally, I especially appreciated that there were no unexpected surprises in the final invoice. For the second time I am happy recommend them.

If you are looking for a fence company that is unknowledgeable, lazy, inefficient, horrible with communication, deceptive and will knowingly charge you for services that you do not need, then Advanced Fence Company should be your choice. In order for me to pay them to install a fence 15” inside of where they said they were going to; I needed to take my own measurements to get a fake estimate online, wait almost 3 months for a salesman to come out to give me an “official” estimate (that was of course more expensive), wait another 2 months in order for me to gather all the permits and paperwork that they require in advance (along with the down payment), wait another 2 months for their installation team to actually show up to overcharge me for the removal of a fence that according to them (after the fact) wasn’t mine and install a new fence 15” inside of where their salesman and installers told me it was going to go. When I tried to resolve this issue, I was told that they installed the fence where it was legally supposed to go. So either, they knew all along and charged me to remove a fence that didn’t need to be removed, or they didn’t care enough to explain to me my options so I could inform my neighbors properly and make an educated decision. So, the result of the unprofessionalism of their company and their employees is that I paid almost $300 to remove a fence that didn’t need to be removed, I lost over 90 sq ft off of my property and there are huge gaps between our new fence and our neighbors existing fence. The best part of my entire experience with all of these people is that almost a year later it is finally over!!! Thank you for nothing Todd Kopke and Advanced Fence & Gate.

Remove 190 ft of old fencing and install 6ft high white vinyl fencing. New driveway gate and replace railings by the front door.

There is an unfriendliness from this business from the get go. I know it because I work with 10-20 commercial contractors every year. So you spend your time on writing estimates, requesting communication, while they do not specify online which area they service. This is reflective of an inefficient company with a BOGUS cost installation estimator. Jokesters ....

Advanced Fence & Gate did an excelllent job installing the fence around my backyard. Todd was great to work with. He was in constant communication with me and his crew did an excellent job. They were professional and left the job site clean. I would highly recommend them for your fencing needs.

They were on time, they took extra care to ensure it was quality work. They charged what they said they would charge. There were no problems. The crew chief was a great guy.

Worthless First of only because someone from angies list called me and I told them they don't call back-did someone actually return my call. I called again and the woman asked if is this for a new fence or a repair. I told them it was a repair. We only do new fences not repairs. If this bit of info was in their ad I would have called the company in the first place. Total waste of time.

Overall a great experience from Todd and his team at Advanced Fence. I contacted Todd in the fall of 2018 to get a price for a fence. Todd came out on a Saturday morning and gave us some ideas and options for our backyard. In March of 2019 we decided to move forward. Todd honored the price from 2018. The fence arrived in around a month and was installed without any issues. When I emailed Todd with questions or follow-up his was extremely responsive. Crew was friendly, on time and very courteous. Oh yeah, the fence looks great as well! We got a black aluminum fence (Ultra). High quality material. Would highly recommend and do business with again.

Todd was great to work with. Work was done on time and with good quality. When one item was left undone, they quickly followed up and took care of it within a week. Very happy with the results, and the price was reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

Advanced Fence had more options than other fence installers I contacted. The estimator provided details with pictures of each. Due to the fence posts being in a wet area I chose a cedar arched shadow box fence with steel posts which are completely hidden by the cedar. The installers were great to work with, took care when digging the post holes not to sever a buried sump pump water drain line running right along the fence, custom cut the arches to the curvature I requested, and left the work site clean. All aspects of the job were performed according to the estimate and literature provided.

The guys installing the fence did a fine job. They worked quickly and professionally. Todd (the owner) and I communicated through email, as he had already given me a quote on this job several years ago. Todd responded promptly to my emails and answered questions I had. I would certainly hire Advanced Fence again.

From our first interaction calling to set up an estimate they were very courteous and professional. The representative who provided the quote was knowledgeable and answered all our questions. This was one of three quotes we received and it was great price. The man who installed the railings was prompt, maticulous, and clean. We would definitely recommend them!

Great, Todd was the best. He worked with the city to get the permits which was a long process and he did the work in a really timely manner and it looks great!

Fabulous. Todd kept me informed about when the fencing would arrive from Michigan & likely install date. One gate and some hardware were not shipped. Todd stayed on top of it and the crew came out as soon as possible to finish the job. Crew leader was incredibly professional and solicitous (sorry I can't remember his name to give him a personal shout-out). The crew worked incredibly **** ** some very hot July days. I'm very happy with the job, and very happy with the professionalism of Advanced Fence.

Excellent. Scheduling was easy. They came the day they said they would. Showed me what they were going to do and were very professional and polite. The fence looks great a week later.

They were very prompt on coming out for estimate. Took a few days to send the estimate and their pricing was significantly higher than a local competitor. We did not hire them.

Todd was easy to work with. Of the three vendors we considered, he was the only one that offered metal posts, and had the best price. Scheduling could have been tricky because we had to plan the project over three consecutive days. Day one was Advanced Fence removing the old fence. Day two was having a landscaper remove the weed trees and shrubs that were in the way. Day three was Advanced Fence installing the new wood fence. All three days went as planned. Todd responded promptly to my emails.

It all started off with a guy refusing to come out and measure my fence without a survey. They said they would come out and measure. Never happened. After that, he emails me to send him the survey once again. I sent it again. I received no response. Finally, I emailed again because they were never picking up their phone and finally got an email back saying they can't do my job because they're too busy and only servicing current and former customers. This company is a joke, Dave is a joke. Don't waste your time on these guys. I'm using family fence from Glenview. They came the first day and are doing the job tomorrow. Stay away from advanced fence they are a scam.

They were very good! They completed work in 1 day. I would certainly recommend them to anyone!

It went very well. They were efficient and did excellent and professional work. Even their cleaning up after the job was excellent.

They did an excellent job. I get compliments from the neighbors on how great it looks. Others than a few minor imperfections, which you'd really have to look to see, but the overall I'm very pleased with. There was some very minor communication issues, but noting serious and very professionally handled.
