Description of Work: I've used Skokie Valley for years. In September, 2014, they put in a new furnace and in June of 2015, a new central air conditioner. Their people are knowledgeable. The estimate is exact. They clean up after themselves and stand behind their work highly recommend them.

Description of Work: I had Skokie Valley Air Control replace my furnace with a new high efficiency (95%) furnace. They arrived on time, removed the old furnace, and installed the new one. When they were finished they cleaned everything up and verified that everything was working correctly.

Description of Work: The technician was punctual, friendly, and answered all questions I had in a "laymans" way as to understand. He talked me through what he was doing and provided advice should problems occur. He did verify the furnace was ready for winter use.

Description of Work: I invited about a half-dozen services to come in and diagnose my needs regarding a new furnace. Skokie Valley Air Control provided me with the best comfort level about what my home actually and truly required–and the price was more than competitive. A distant relative in the neighborhood has used Skokie Valley as their regular heat/AC maintenance service for several years, which also supported my decision. Of course, the true test of their furnace installation will come as my electric and natural gas bills kick in in coming months and in the next few years as the system functions. But so far, I would recommend this company to others.

Customer service set up an appointment for the day after I called them. The technician was on time but did not have a ladder tall enough to get into our crawl space. He had to call another technician and then wait for him to arrive with the ladder. Once they started working everything went smoothly, and our A/C is now working perfectly.
Description of Work: Our upstairs A/C was pumping out hot air and there was a small leak in the ceiling. Skokie Valley replaced the float on the secondary pan and added freon. They also cut the drain line and blew it out with Co2. They also checked our downstairs unit and added freon to it.

I called in the morning for a quote, and they were able to install it that afternoon. They did a fine job. Their price was not the lowest of my quotes, but they were relatively close in price. And they were able to install it right away.

Great service and knowledgeable technician. Fixed the problem in no time and helped me understand what the problem was. Highly recommend. Called Skokie Valley on a separate occasion to schedule additional work after another tech found an issue with the exhaust venting, however one problem for me is that the office said that they don't do work on the weekend.
Description of Work: Heater went out and replaced t-cup and cleaned unit. Just moved into the house and examined an electronic air cleaner. Let me know it was in good condition. All it needed was the filters.

THE SALESMAN, MICHAEL BYRON, WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HELPFUL. THE INSTALLATION CREW, LED BY JOSE, WAS EXCELLENT. THEY WORKED RAPIDLY, DID A VERY NEAT JOB, AND CLEANED UP WELL. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND FINISHED THE JOB IN ABOUT SEVEN HOURS. JOSE SHOWED US HOW THE NEW THERMOSTAT AND HUMIDIFIER WORKED AND COULD BE PROGRAMMED. A GOOD FRIEND HAS USED THE COMPANY FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS, STILL USES THEM, AND RECOMMENDS THEM HIGHLY. SO WILL I.
Description of Work: THEY INSTALLED A NEW CARRIER 58MVP 92%+ EFFICIENT 2 STAGE CONDENSING GAS FURNACE, NEW APRILAIRE 700 HUMIDIFIER, NEW EVAPORATOR COIL(COMPATIBLE WITH A FUTURE R410A AC UNIT), PLEATED AIR CLEANER, AND NEW HONEYWELL DIGITAL THERMOSTAT. THEY INSTALLED A PVC FRESH AIR INTAKE AND FURNACE EXHAUST LINE. THEY SEALED UP THE FORMER FURNACE EXHAUST TO THE CHIMNEY, BUT DID NOT INSTALL A CHIMNEY LINER AS MICHAEL DID NOT CONSIDER IT NECESSARY TO SAFELY HANDLE THE WATER HEATER EXHAUST.

THEY REALLY HAD A TOUGH TIME WITH INSTALLATION DUE TO OUR VERY SMALL CRAWL SPACE, BUT THEY KEPT WORKING WITH IT UNTIL THEY FOUND A SOLUTION. WE RECEIVED TWO OTHER ESTIMATES FOR THE JOB.
