Very good. We discovered on a Friday morning that our 17 year old furnace had stopped working. I called two local HVAC companies that morning. Skokie Valley was able to come out that afternoon. Michael gave us quotes for the available options, (80 or 95% efficiency, one or two stage.). They came out Monday morning and the new furnace was installed by noon.

Great job at cleaning. Really liked the estimator and details of information. Just could not afford the $8000 cost of a new basic line Carrier furnace and air conditioner.

We've used them for 30 years. We're getting ready to contact them in a couple of weeks to come out for the fall for the furnace. They come twice a year. They come once in the spring and once in the fall. We've had to replace two furnaces since we've lived here. They've done both, a central air unit, water heater, they've done all that. We trust them. They're always professional, and they're honest and reliable. I wouldn't go to anybody else. They're not the cheapest.

I've been using them for years. I'm so happy with them that I didn't shop around. They gave me an estimate, and I said okay. They came out the same day so triple-A. They come to my house every spring and fall. They're very helpful, very professional. They don't overpromise. They gave me exactly what I've asked for. I've never had a problem.

I have been using them for so many years, even before Angie's List. They are in the ballpark. Its not like that offer bargains, but they aren't outrageously high. That is why I still call them. I don't think there are any particular bargain, but I trust them. Any problem they come right away. This was an schedule thing. If I call and say my air conditioner isn't working, they come right away. There was one worker. The work took less than a half hour. What can you say about someone who comes to service your air conditioning. I can't get poetic here.

They have been operating in this area for quite a long time, in my mind they are steadily going downhill. They have a very high turn over, you never knew if the person that showed up was qualified. I just didn't have faith in them anymore. I think they pulled one over on me. They said there was something wrong with my condensor, I saw what the problem was and they ended up tearing the guts out of this thing, I would not recommend them. If people are going to use them, they should be very careful on what they purpose to do and double check what they are saying is the truth.

Arty was here within an hour of the call and replaced parts quickly. He also clarified how the unit should be working when all is properly functioning.

They did the job, they knew what they were doing and the price was good. It was a bargain. Here?s the thing, there is a very expensive thermostat that goes with the system. I think another company?s bid included that expensive thermostat. These people gave me the option of not having it, because the system would operate with a very basic thermostat also. That might have accounted for the $300 or $400 difference. I resent that the other company didn?t give me that option. I appreciate that Skokie Valley Air Control did. To tell you the truth, the personalities of the people at Skokie?s, they were not user friendly. They were kind of cold and took care of business, no smiles. I didn?t feel real comfortable, I don?t know how that would come across. I didn?t like them, but I used them. I would use them again.

The technician made sure to let me know what way the filter was supposed to go and any other information regarding the tune-up. The technician was very thorough and competent and I would use them again in the future.

We've been using Skokie Valley Air Control for more than a decade and appreciate their dedication to fixing HVAC units, rather than trying to sell new units. So, when they declared the furnace dead, we knew we could trust them. The project went quickly and seamlessly--and since we were without heat and the house was about 60 degrees inside--time was important. We were not charged an emergency fee. In fact, they worked with us to minimize the cost as much as possible.

In addition to good attention, interest and detail in the quote and information phase, their work on the installation day was A+. They arrived on time, laid protective floor covering across floors leading to basement and worked throughout the day until the job was done, system checked, radiators fully bled and work area thoroughly cleaned. The workers were very friendly and conscientious. I heartily refer this company. I will use them again to review and refresh my A/C system when the time comes.

OUTSTANDING. MIKE BYRON STOPPED BY TO GIVE ME AND ESTIMATE, AND HE ANSWERED MOST OF MY QUESTIONS BEFORE I COULD EVEN ASK THEM. HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE. HE ALSO THREW IN THE COPPER TUBING AND A CONDENSOR PAD ON TOP OF AN ALREADY VERY COMPETITIVE QUOTE JUST TO GET MY BUSINESS. THREE WORKERS SHOWED UP PROMPTLY ON THE INSTALL DATE, AND COMPLETED THE WORK IN ABOUT 3 HOURS. EVERYTHING WENT VERY SMOOTH, AND THE SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN RUNNING PERFECTLY SINCE THE INSTALL. I DON'T THINK I HAVE EVER BEEN HAPPIER OVERALL WITH A CONTRACTOR. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

They are terrific. We've had them come in a few times over the last few years. When we first bought the house,we had to replace the water heater and they came out & vented it for us. In the last couple of years the old A/C units were dieing and we did not have much cash to spend on replacing them. They gave us a freon injection last year, which was great, but this year, both condensers died so we had to replace them. We got 2 quotes, and Skokie Valley's was the least expensive by far. We're still waiting to hear from the 3rd person who came out to give us a quote. Once we decided to replace the units they came out that same week and were done in about half a day. It has been SOOO nice and cool ever since. They also provided financing through Wells Fargo.

I have used Skokie Valley Air Control for 14 years and with three houses. They have serviced my air conditioner and furnace, installed 2 furnaces, installed 2 humidifiers, fixed a knocking noise in my ducts, replaced a thermostat and now taken out a free standing fire place in a new house I just bought. I have had a number of different service men and all of them have been great. They come on time, are friendly, honest with pricing, and do a good job.

They put in a air conditioner furnace. I have had to have various parts of that replaced. They come out, it's not working again, the guy says to me, Carrier knows that this is not working. It is the core of the air conditioner, the main part of the furnace. They said that Carrier would cover the material not the labor. I asked how much labor and they said 6 to 8 hours. It's expensive and I'm dealing with it. Just to see if they are in the ball park I called another place I got off of Angie's List. I learned from him that both the material and the labor up to 6 hours should be covered. He asked for the serial number which I gave him and he called me back and said, nope, it should be covered. This other company comes out to do the job. About 3 or 4 weeks later Skokie calls and said they were holding the part for me and wanted to know if I wanted it put it. I said, well, I was told from you that you guys that you cover the materials but not the labor. He said yes that is correct. I said well, no Carrier honors both. He said, sir, no you are wrong. I said no, I talked to this other company and they said it covers both. He said, well, why don't you have them do the work and we'll see if it is covered. I said, sir, they have done the work, they are done, it was covered. He goes, oh.

They did a good job with the installation. They were professional, came and put it in, no problems. They couldn't have done anything better on the installation. I don't think they were the most expensive but they weren't the cheapest.

When we bought our house 2.5 years ago, we turned to the company that had been maintaining the system with the previous owner. From the first visit on, I have been impressed with the knowledge and expertise that each tech has. They each care for the system and use their knowledge to keep things running smoothly. When the old boiler needed replacing, they made a recommendation for the best system for this house, ordered all the necessary items, and installed it day later. Likewise with our space-pak AC system, we have received prompt, efficient service on every call. I like supporting locally owned and operated companies. Skokie Valley makes that easy to do since they have a good pool of professionals working for the company. I recommend this company without reservation.

Our house was built in 1872 and was without air conditioning. Skokie Valley AC not only installed complete AC, but did an excellent job in cleaning up.

I have used them for the past 9-10 years. They have been a really good company.

It was great - when he went to clean the condenser he saw a stain indicating a leak - he found the place where the leak was - was able to use a sealant and then replaced the coolant or whatever is in air conditioning rather than having to replace the whole condenser - it has worked like a charm. He thoroughly explained the pluses, minuses and costs to trying the solution and I felt fully informed. He was polite and patient and explained each step in the process.

Jose and crew arrived promptly and worked efficiently. The installation took less than one day. He cheerfully answered my questions and volunteered explanations of the system. The technicians at Skokie Valley Air Control are NATE certified. The system was quoted by Mike and he was very down to earth. He didn't try to sell me any bells and whistles that I didn't need. I was impressed that he had done a load calculation prior to our meeting. All in all a stress free experience.

On Thursday,4/18/2013, due to the heavy rain, my basement was flooded. The furnace and water heater went out because of the water. On Friday, 4/19/2013, I called Skokie Valley Air Control, Inc. to come out and fix the two appliances for me. The person that took my call statement that they can't come out on the 19th, but they can come out on the 20th to fix my appliances. On the 20th, Tony the service tech for Skokie Valley air control came to my house to fix the appliances. Tony try to restart the furnace, but was unsuccessful. He then told me that they don't service the Rheem brand of furnace and that the person that took my call should have checked to see what brand of furnace I have first. Then he should tell me if they service that brand or not. And not wait for him to come over and then find out that it's a brand that they don't service. Tony then went on and said that it's probably the circuit board on the furnace is damage, but he don't have the part available in his truck since the company don't service this brand. He'll need time to order the part and that I'll have to wait until Monday before he can get it. Then Tony went to relight the hot water heater. He was unsuccessful after many attempt and gave up. And told me to go and buy a brand new water heater. Tony was unable to fix neither the furnace nor the water, but now is time for him to give me the bill. He stated that this was an emergency service call since today is Saturday and will charge me $135. I asked Tony what emergency service call, I never ask for an emergency service call. The day I wanted the service was for Friday, but the customer rep said they can't come out on Friday, but they can come out on Saturday. No one mention anything about an emergency service. It should have been just a regular service call. But as I was handing my $50 off coupon to Tony, he looked at me and said yet they do that sometimes. Tony did not take the coupon, he further stated that he'll have someone from the office contact me about the bill first and no one did. Then I received my first bill three days later for a $135 and an another bill for the same amount ten days later.
