Description of Work: I called to setup an appointment for an estimate. Over the phone, everything was went well and the gentleman was very professional and kind. However, it went downhill after that. The estimate was not done when promised and no follow-up call to reschedule. I contacted the company again (twice actually) and each time was promised that someone would get back to me regarding an estimate. It's been over two weeks and I still haven't heard anything.

Description of Work: Hoy came out and provided a basic design to get our hilly/sloped backyard to seem larger and give us more usable yard. They brought in 4 truckloads of soil (2-top soil) and graded and reseeded the entire yard, roughly 2000 sq ft. They just finished yesterday so not sure how well the seed will take or how full it will come in, but the grading looks great and we can finally use our backyard. Aaron was very responsive in the planning and the crew completing the work were very helpful and went above and beyond to get the job done, even with minor changes/additions. AND it was completed in less time than originally planned.

We were impressed with the architect's suggestions and knowledge of regional, prairie-style landscaping, as well as his ability to listen to and interpret our needs. After tight, professional drawings and photographic plant references and price list were dropped off, the permit process began (which Hoy handled entirely). Once permits were approved, work was started and finished in less than a week. The crew was polite and conscientious and courteous to our neighbors. A week later, minor tweaks were handled without hassle. Hoy was one of the pricier firms, but their professionalism, visual talent, attention to detail and courtesy were worth every penny. The amount spent has added tremendous value to the house.

Hardscaping included removal of existing concrete walkway, laying of unilock pavers and resurfacing front stairs with pavers as well. Also laid sod throughout the entire front yard.

 + -1 moreI put a call out to Dan Norton, who promptly returned a call and then sent a contract and agreement via email the same day. Once he received a 50% down payment, the work was scheduled, although I had to call Dan first to get the exact date and time. The workmen arrived at 7:45 a.m. on the day work was scheduled and did a fine job with the installation. They cleaned up the sidewalk around the lawn areas, so there was almost no mud tracked around. The lawn looks good, and overall, we are pleased with Hoy's work.

 + -1 moreNEVER RETURNED CALL - CONTACTED ON JULY 11 AND AGAIN ON AUGUST 19. ON SECOND CONTACT WAS TOLD THEY DON'T GO TO CITY I NEEDED THEM TO GO TO, WHICH IS "PROBABLY WHY" THEY DIDN'T CALL BACK. INTERESTING THAT THEY DIDN'T TELL ME THEY DON'T GO TO THAT CITY ON THE FIRST CALL. THEY'VE ALSO NEVER HEARD OF ANGIE'S LIST, ALTHOUGH THEY'VE BEEN RATED BY OTHERS.
