I see them all over Oak Park but never got a response to my request!!!

Hoy kept their commitments and now, about 3 weeks, the grass looks great. Probably shames the neighbors.

Simply the best. I have seen Hoy Landscaping crews around town for years and always assumed that crews of that quality were out of my price range. Man was I wrong. Not only were they so easy to work with and friendly and professional... but they were the BEST price in town. As a bonus the guys who came to do the work gave me several pointers on other plants and bushes in my yard that will save me more money than I paid them in the first place. I will definitely call Hoy for my landscaping services in the future.

I had tried in vain to finish up the summer yard work of weeding and mulching and just really needed this done quickly and at a reasonable price. Hoy was quick to come out and do the estimate and once I got that, I called to pay the deposit and they were out the next day and completed the work. The trimmed up overgrown shrubs, pulled the last of the weeks and put down mulch in the areas I had not gotten to. The beds look so much better!

Last fall, I hired Jeff Kain of Hoy to prune all the bushes so that they would look nice again. He said he could do some of it right away and then the rest, he would need to prune in the spring. Sure enough, by late February, like clockwork, Jeff called to say he'd come to trim the bushes in a few weeks. They showed up more or less when he predicted and I was surprised when they were done. The bushes were so hacked down. But by this time, after having had several conversations with Jeff, I knew I could trust him to know what he was doing. By April, some of the bushes were green from top to bottom and some looked like they might not do so well, but Jeff affirmed that all was well and sure enough, it's mid-June and all of the bushes look great! I have now also hired Hoy to do the mowing and lawn maintenance. I am very happy with their service. They have a large group and they go so fast they are done with mowing and edging in about 15 minutes on a double lot. The yard looks very nice. But for the great pruning experience with Jeff, I would not have thought of using Hoy for yard maintenance, but I am grateful to have someone so knowledgeable about plants taking care of our yard whenever we need it. You can trust Jeff with your plants and I recommend him highly.

The price for the deep weeding was very competitive and Hoy did an absolutely wonderful job! They cleaned up all my weeds and made my yard look wonderful again! We never heard anything after the initial visit for the estimate. There was no follow up with an estimate by the designer who came to our house. In fact, when I did not hear back from them, I called them in a few months and asked them why they never responded. The lady on the phone checked and called me later to inform me that the designer actually never prepared an estimate. She said that they will do it and will send it to me in a week or so. I never heard back from them. If they were not interested in the job, a simple email/phone would have been sufficient.

The contractor told me it would take about 4 hours. It took them 6 but they did not charge me any more. They protected the gas so the Bobcat bare made any marks at all. They dug out all the roots they could. They raked the loose dirt back into the now empty shrub beds. They left no dirt on the sidewalks. They hauled away all the old shrubs! Wow! Did they do a great job.

The provider was very easy to schedule. They responded within a day and were able to set up recurring service electronically, which was very much appreciated. Since then the team has done the job well for a reasonable price. They bill automatically monthly. Everything has gone smoothly and is super easy.

It didn't, they still haven't sent the quote.

I had read the reviews on this Company before even contacting them. The biggest complaint seemed to be their turn around time in responding to initial contact, and then to provide the actual quote. I sent an email to the Company on 9/10/14 letting them know that I was aware of that general complaint and was hoping not to experience it. I then indicated what we wanted a quote for. I got an email from the Company almost immediately, letting me know that so and so would be contacting me regarding this quote. So far, so good. I then received an email from the actual person that was to provide the quote, great! He nicely asked if we wanted to be there for his visit or could he stop by anytime. I said anytime. He then indicated that he would be by that day, or the following day. I didn't hear from him right away. I followed up with an email on 9/11/14 asking if he had a chance to stop by, he indicated that he would be there at 11:30 the following day, 9/12/14 When we got home that evening, his business card was in our mailbox with a little note right on it that he had been there at 11:30 AM. Great. But there was no quote, which surprised me. We had already gotten another Landscaper to come out, he called us while at our house and gave us the quote right then and there. Pulling of stumps really isn't a very complicated job, it's basically a timed job. But I figured, OK, it's because we've been communicating by email, so I fully expected to get a quote by email. I didn't received anything that day, so I followed up with another email early Saturday (9/13/14) stating that we were hoping to get the quote so that we could make the final decision quickly and have the job done quickly. In our heads, we gave him until Saturday evening. Nothing. We called the other guy on Saturday evening, and got the job done this morning (Monday) ! That's the kind of service everyone should provide.

We contacted Hoy Landscaping earlier this summer shortly after moving into our new home. We were looking for someone to assist with fall cleanup, reroute some drainage, and look forward to redoing some of the plantings in the spring. The initial call was helpful and easy to schedule an appointment. The contractor who visited our home did not want to address our inquiries regarding ways to improve the landscape appeal of our home. We discussed the drainage and fall cleanup and were told to expect a quote in the near future. One week later, we still had not heard from the company. I reached out to them and provided my email address in case that would make follow-up easier. As of today, over 3 weeks later, we have not heard anything from this company. I am highly disappointed in the lack of responsiveness from this company, and disappointed given the other overall very positive reviews.

It went very smoothly. The only reason I gave them a B was because of the delay I experienced getting the work scheduled. The actual work was excellent & I would recommend them highly.

Contacted the provider nearly two weeks ago. Got a quote about a week after requesting it. Called twice today nearly a week after saying I wanted the service and was put off. They couldn't contact their person. Will be looking elsewhere for a provider who can return phone calls and not pass me off to some guy who will drive by a week later and give me a quote.

Very responsive! Got right back to me with a quote after I emailed them. Sent a professional purchase order. Performed work on track.

Response to initial inquiry was prompt and via email. They said they would send someone to look at the lawn "in a few days." "In a few days" took a couple of days longer than I had hoped, but they did eventually email us a scanned contract to sign - they had just looked at the lawn and saved us the trouble of being home for an initial estimate appointment. I sent in the contract and a couple of days later I came home to find that all of the edging, trimming, mulching, mowing, and debris pickup had been taken care of. They have since been coming by on a weekly basis and I think that so far they are doing a very professional job. The price we were quoted is slightly below what others had quoted for the same weekly service, and in addition there has been none of the "will they or won't they bother to respond to my phone calls and emails" that we have had with several other lawn service companies. Overall, an unusually professional lawn service company and I am pleased to have hired them.

They were able to take care of big heavy moving.

Hoy was great from the outset. I sent out several requests for proposals for a fall cleanup on a house we had just moved into. I fell way behind on yard maintenance so I needed some help. Jim was very responsive to my emails, assured me exactly what work would be performed and gave me a date. Of course there was snow in the forecast the day prior to my scheduled appointment, so Hoy sent their crew in early to do the job. Leaves were meticulously cleared, all perennials were trimmed and the grass mowed. And to top it all off, they had the best price for this particular job. We would highly recommended calling Hoy.

AMAZING! My law mower took a dive back in late October. I thought "no biggie winter is almost here." Then we got that warm snap and all that rain. Well, needless to say the grass blew up! Now, with my lawnmower repaired the grass was too much for it. And because it was almost a month, the leaves were out of control as well. I called FOUR different landscapers including Hoy. Only Hoy responded......and within 24 hours to boot. Never knew that all these landscapers were so rich that returning calls was unnecessary. But I digress, back to Hoy. Tim and the wonderful appointment setter whose name escapes me were tremendously responsive and top notch communicators. The guys just left, and I have to say I've never been so impressed. Worth every single penny! To sum up: Great response Great communication Great job Great value Look no further!

Hoy Landscaping had everything. The person was professional and he's the only one that showed up on time. Everything worked out. Aaron is very professional and he impressed me. He gave me better ideas as to what to do with the extra gravel that I had and we were able to utilize all that which was good. I just like him better.

Hoy was very responsive. I was able to get someone out to the house on the same day that we called, and Aaron really paid close attention to what we were interested in, though we did not have a specific plan in mind. When we received the plan, we were impressed by how Aaron had interpreted our requests, creating a coherent design that went beyond expectations. The work proceeded smoothly and in a timely manner. The team showed up exactly when we expected, and their work was done quickly and professionally. Afterwards, some of the plants did experience stress, due to high heat, but we called and received immediate attention. Everything worked out fine. We are now thinking of other work that might be done in the future, due to our satisfaction with the new look.

I emailed Hoy to set up a day/time for someone to come out and give me a quote to relandscape my front yard. I was set up for 4/24 at 4:00pm. 4:00 came and went with nobody showing up or calling me. Finally at approx 4:45 I called Aaron to find out where he was out and he informed me that he had been in meetings all day and forgot about our appointment. He said he had to head out to another address that he had scheduled for that evening and wanted to reschedule with me. I told them I was not interested in hiring a company that forgets appointments. Their are plenty of of other landscape companies who actually want my business.

Hoy was on time and very nice. Made great recommendations and seem very knowledgeable in their expertise. Scheduling was a breeze and Tim is very responsive.

I called Hoy Landscaping to request an estimate to have a retaining wall made of railroad ties replaced. Tim came out to the house. I told him that I was interested in a quote for replacing the railroad ties and a quote for a stone retaining wall. He talked about a few options (one of which included using a Bobcat to remove the rotting ties), took some meaurements and then told me he would email an estimate within the next few days. Two weeks later, I called the office to check on the status of that estimate. I was put on hold and told that Tim would have to bring someone else to look at the project and that I would have an estimate within a week. It's been two weeks--no follow up visit and no estimate.
