Poul's Landscaping did an excellent job. Rick (the person that designed and quoted their work) was very professional and prompt during estimate appointments. There was no "sales pressure". The landscaping work was completely quickly and they did a good job cleaning up. There were a few trees that did not get trimmed and they followed up and corrected this within a couple of days. Poul's will also come back in the spring to make sure all of the trees and bushes are doing well and will replace anything that does not survive the winter. Overall I am very pleased with their work!

It was excellent. Everything was fine. They stop often to check and see how the trees are doing.

The designer came out in a timely fashion and created a beautiful landscape for a difficult yard-shady and many deer. The installers completed the work as promised. Any issues I have had since have been dealt with immediately. My yard looks beautiful from spring to fall.

We have experienced flooding problems around our house over the last few years. Having tried a number of interim solutions, building berms, installing drain tile, caulking the basement windows, etc., we decided to fix the problem once and for all. I took four proposals from different companies and each had a different solution. Most were to re-grade around the house and cut surface swales to redirect the water away from the house. Dan of Poul's Landscaping had the most innovative consisting of a large drain and 6" solid piping underground to the nearby drainage ditch. This meant we did not have to cut down the mature trees and other plantings called for by the other proposals. The crew (under the direction of Joe, the job boss) were very hardworking and finished the job quickly, which was important since we were to leave the county on vacation shortly. They cleaned up very well after themselves, even hosing down the roadway. In discussions with Joe, they added a couple of features not included in the original plan, which would allow use to re-direct some downspout water and to easily build out on the 6" pipe, if it proved incapable of carrying enough water. This "going the extra mile' is indicative of a high quality operation in my opinion, and I have no hesitation in recommending them. Poul's was not the lowest bid (though not having to replace trees and bushes helped), but I think they had the best ideas and executed them very well.

The algae density has subsided nicely and the pond is in good condition. The amount charged was reasonable for the service performed. I am scheduled for winterization of the pond in the next month. If they follow through on this they will be my heroes. I have not had good, consistent luck with pond service from anyone in 5 years.

Called Poul's in late winter to discuss new landscaping. Laurel came out and talked to us about what we were looking to do. She drew up a landscape plan and we went to their office to review it. She also took us to their greenhouses and yard to show us the type of plants she had suggested. She was very easy to work with and was happy to make changes that we requested. We had other outdoor projects going on, so we waited until August to proceed with the planting. The owner and designer came out during the installation. Everything went very smoothly and was completed in just a couple days. The owner came back after it was complete and walked through the entire project to discuss plant care. The front of the house looks great.

The workers from Poul's are wonderful people. They always call me back. They are very accommodating and they have great customer service. I have nothing but high ratings for them.

The landscaper, who was assigned, came and did some excellent pre-work. He studied what we currently had in the yard and checked on which areas the sun shines at each time of the day. He also sketched out a drawing of my yard and took a computer printout. He gave some great ideas. He was very creative and artistic. He was very knowledgeable and knew what he was talking about.

I used Poul's last year for landscaping my front yard. I again worked with Carly Rizor who patiently worked through my ideas and budget constraints. My dream was to look out and see color in the garden from Spring though Fall. Carly fine-tuned my color choices to present an eye-pleasing appearance. Not only that, the part of the backyard that was landscaped was visible from the front of the house. Carly designed the landscaping so some perennials that were planted in the front were repeated in the back, giving a look of continuity. She also suggested the addition of a sitting area and a bird bath. The bird bath, surrounded by rose shrubs, sets the garden off beautifully. I've received compliments from strangers on the landscaping.

The original plan had to be changed because of village codes and she had to work around what I wanted and what was permitted. About 2 weeks after completion, someone from Poul's came out and gave me verbal and written instructions on how to care for everything they planted. Be aware that Poul's requires a $500 payment to develop a full landscaping plan, and this amount will be deducted from your bill upon completion of the work. Due to the season, only the front of our house was landscaped. Carly is now working on a phased plan for the remainder of our property.

I switched to Poul's last spring because I wanted to add some landscaping (which Poul's did for approximately $4500) and because I was dissatisfied with my prior lawn service. I have been very pleased with the care my lawn and garden has received this year. Even without sprinkling, my lawn never showed any signs of heat or drought stress and never went dormant. My garden has remained weed-free and well-groomed. Many neighbors have commented on how lovely my yard looks this year.

We needed work on our landscaping as it had been growing wild for more than a year. We called Poul's and they were very pleasant on the phone. They actually came out for an estimate pretty quickly. It seemed reasonably priced as well. After that, however, they were impossible to get a hold of. We needed an official estimate sent to us, some specific questions answered, etc. Cindy is apparently the only qualified employee to discuss the work we had and she took days at a time to hear from; sometimes almost a week. We played phone tag for over a month and a half until we decided to give another recommended landscaper a call (Q-Landscaping; review pending). We gave Poul's one last chance, and they didn't get back to us for a full day. We gave up.

THIS WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FROM THE FIRST PHONE CALL TO THE COMPANY. EVERYONE WAS VERY HELPFUL AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY WERE ABOUT TO HAVE A SPECIAL TREE SALE EVENT WHEN I CALLED, SO WE WENT TO THE NURSERY AND WERE GIVEN VERY CLEAR, EXPERT ADVICE. BEFORE THE TREES WERE INSTALLED, THEY CAME AND CHECKED THE SITE. WHEN THEY PLANTED THE TREES, THEY DID A BEAUTIFUL JOB, WATERED THEM IN, MULCHED THE ENTIRE AREA, AND CLEANED UP. THEY ALSO CALLED TWICE TO TELL US WHEN THEY WERE COMING AND WHAT THEY WOULD BE DOING. I CANNOT IMAGINE ANY BETTER SERVICE ALL AROUND.

THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL, HELPFUL, TIMELY, AND RESPONSIVE TO MY NEEDS. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM.

WE HAVE USED ON AN ONGOING BASIS OVER THE YEARS WITH GREAT RESULTS. THEY ARE VERY FLEXIBLE AND RESPONSIVE TO WHAT WE WANTED. THEY WERE ALSO RECEPTIVE TO CHANGES.
