Initial meeting went well. Will have material list and final estimate next week. Work to be scheduled when all materials are available.

We had an appointment set but he did a no call no show and I ended up doing the work myself.

I booked this through one of Angie's List's "deals". Andrew came out on the agreed upon day and took measurements and discussed with us what we wanted to do. He was a few days late with the estimate, but as soon as I contacted him about it he delivered it quickly. Everything was very professional. The computer generated renderings of what the finished basement would look like were cool and helped us picture what it would look like, but it did seem like this was the only difference between Build by Design and a free estimate from another company, so we basically paid $50 for these illustrations. When he hadn't heard from us, Andrew followed up to check on how we were leaning and to let us know there was a sale on building materials so that he could do the project for a little less than the estimate. We ultimately decided to go with another vendor mostly due to price, but I would consider working with this company on a future project.

I have mixed feeling about this company. I did receive the services for these deals. The issue had was with the very extended amount of time it took to actually receive these services. At first I thought this was a great deal and was getting a bargain for getting these renderings, It was quickly realized that this was mostly a way for the contractor to come in and give a quote for doing the entire project which I didn't mind, its a great way for him to drum up work while giving possible clients something in return for a good price. So while I did get what I bought I felt like it was an after thought to the quote. When I first contacted him he was very professional and we booked a time a few days later, that time came and went, I called about an hour later and he showed up a few hours later did measurements and told me he would have the plans for me in a few days. About a week later I called and reminded him about this and received the plans for the first room a few days later, they looked good and obviously took some time, the second room took about 2 more weeks of calls and emails to receive, so for a project that was said to take a few days took about 3 weeks. I guess this is somewhat typical but just seemed to take a really long time and I really started to wonder if I was ever going to get the second set of services I had paid for. I don't feel like this was intended, however it just seemed that Andrew the contractor was extremely busy with other projects and obviously these high paying project took priority. I suspect that had I signed on to have them do the project I trust that things would go much better time wise, judging from other reviews and what I've heard of them they do a very nice job, but alas I must rate on the experience I had. So while I wasn't completely satisfied with my experience I think I would give them a chance to do some real work for me in the future.

As this was just the estimate there is no story to tell.

Good experience, Andrew came by took to take dimensions and discuss my plans. He provided several dimensional illustrations of the finished product and grid of the layout. Along with the plans provided a quote to compete the job. Overall good experience, hope to work further with him in completing the basement.

Initially, he was supposed to come out Sunday, October 28th but he cancelled at the last minute but he came out the following Thursday. We were promised to have the plans the next week but we called and made a couple of changes due to miscommunication on our part which was within 2 days of the company being at our house. A month passed and then my husband reached out and we were told that they had sent our plans to the wrong customer and that they would be emailed out to us immediately. That was two weeks ago and we have heard nothing since then. 12/27/2012 Update After posting the initial review and my husband calling him again, on December 20th we finally got the plans emailed to us along with an email requesting us to change our review since he finally delivered the plans and that he was busy on another customer's project which was never conveyed to us previously. The estimates for the projects were extremeley bare boned and I don't have a lot of faith that the final project would be anywhere close to the costs that were projected. The basement plan was okay as far as the layout went with a "discount" if we have him do the work in January 2013. The kitchen plans, on the other hand, were compeletely off mark from what our concept was. There are so many issues with the design it is not even worth giving notes to the company on it. Suffice to say, we will not be going forward with this contractor and felt that the money we paid for the designs was a huge waste of money.

He created a nice design and emailed plans. I asked for a few changes but am still waiting for a reply. I will amend my review if I hear back about my request.

They came to take measurements for a remodeling job in the basement. Nothing since.

He came out for an hour and discussed different ideas. Went well and just waiting for the estimate.

Andrew (owner) is very professional, courteous, skilled and knowledgable in his craft. He provided excellent ideas via his 3D design tool so we could visualize the finished product, and work with him to tweak the design to meet our specific needs. Andrew stayed on budget, and on schedule, with only minimal variation to both. He performed all work as promised, and at a very high level of quality. Our city inspectors noted immediately upon arriving that they were impressed by the quality. Andrew reoslved all punchlist items from the city to pass all inspections with no issues. The only area of concern we ran into was with installation of flooring, which was the only portion of the project sub'd out to another contractor who was not timely, although the work was completed to the same level of quality. Overall I would highly recommend Andrew for any home remodeling projects, great value, great workmanship, flexible to changes, and enjoyable to work with on our project. We would definitely use Andrew again should we have additional projects, and have recommended him to family and friends as well.ighting

The remodel went fairly well but took a little longer than expected due to some unforseen additional plumbing work and a short delay with the cabinet maker getting a replacement cabinet door. Because of the layout of the kitchen, the standard corner lazy susan cabinets available would not fit. Andy, took a regular corner cabinet and made it into a lazy susan. The granite guy was great. Both the kitchen and bathroom look beautiful. I have received nothing but positive comments from everyone who has seen the work that Andy has done.

I did read reviews about them online. I used their services from July 29th to August 15th. There is a guy by name Andrew who runs the company. He is extremely competent and he was trained to be an architect in Poland before he came over here. He is also a licensed electrician here in the United States. He and his crew can do just about anything you can imagine. Their main deal is to remodel basements, kitchens and bathrooms. They can basically do anything around the house. They even cleaned out a few things and they did whatever I couldn’t think of. They did everything extremely well. They were able to remove some tiles in the bathroom that couldn’t be matched. They also repaired the drywall behind the tiles by putting in cement boards. They then cleaned everything and made it look new. They are very skillful at everything that they do and their prices are good.

3D design, many ideas, easy payment method, clear contract

it started with a 3-d design and an estimated expense and the time it should take from start to finish. this was followed by a contract, with all payment schedules. then the work started on the assigned day, was finished as per schedule, with great inputs and hard working team.

All started with getting rid off all old materials from the basement. Next, they brought up 3D design which helped out a lot visualize of how it's going to look. Professionally done bathroom, new ceiling lighting, wooden floor and most importantly bar with custom made interior waterfall and wine cellars which look amazing. As remodeling team, they came up with great ideas and materials that fit my budget. Overall, well satisfied with their job - everything was done on time. Great quality service and team.
