The services went well.

I had two outdoor water spigots that leaked a lot of water out of the handle area when turned on and connected to a hose. I expected I would have to have the water spigots completely replaced. I was afraid I was going to have to remove some drywall to gain access to the pipes inside my wall. Brad of Block Plumbing checked thoroughly and determined he would be able to repair the problems without major disturbance to my home. After I agreed with his assessment and proposed course of action, Brad took the faucets apart and repaired the existing parts, explaining every step along the way. Brad finished so quickly that he asked what other plumbing tasks I might need help with. I didn't have anything else needed, so just asked several questions regarding overall plumbing concerns I had in the house. Brad thoroughly answered all of my questions, and fortunately none of my concerns required any further work. I was completely satisified with Brad's services, and only wish his company was closer to my area, as he is about an hour away. For any large plumbing projects, I will definitely give Brad a call.

A little disappointed because I do use these different offers and I am starting to get suspect.

I purchased a deal thru Angies list "2 hours of plumbing work for $99" I contacted Block plumbing and set up an appointment with Brad Block. On the appointment date Brad arrived right on time and proceeded to do several jobs that I had for him quickly and skillfully. Afrer completing the scheduled jobs he had some additional time and offered to do an inspection of some other plumbing in the unit. All in all I found Brad to be very professional and good at what he does. I would definitely recommend him to any relative or friend needing plumbing work done. Total cost including parts $159

I bought the Big Deal coupon from Angie's List, then spoke with Brad to be sure he serviced my area on the border of south Naperville and Aurora. He did, so we then emailed and spoke by phone about my choice of faucets to replace the old ones. I knew what model I wanted at the kitchen sink and found it on the Moen website. Brad was able to get it from his supplier at a much better price than was shown. I needed advice, which he gave me, on the bathroom faucets. Our old ones were becoming difficult for me to turn on and off (arthritic hands) and I wanted lever handles. He advised me on the model he thought would be best and got a lower price on those, too. He arrived on time, went to work right away, and three hours later had everything done. New faucets were installed, toilet flush mechanism was repaired, and the leak under it was stopped, too. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, professional in his work and cleaned up all the work areas after he was done. I would hire him again and can recommend him to anyone needing a plumber.

Though Brad was already booked he squeezed me in early the next morning. I had been worried since my sump pump had failed and rain was expected. He was very personal, did the work quickly and efficiently. He put the old discarded pump out at the curb for me as it was garbage day. He made the job a pleasant experience.

Saw the add in and Email and then I called Block Plumbing. Talked to Brad about the problem and then we set up a time for Brad to come out. Brad arrived on time and the work began. When all work was done we went over evertything.

He pulled the soffit drywall out and examined everything to make sure it wasn't an emergency. It doesn't appear to be anything too alarming right now. And he was just going to leave without taking any payment! We handed him $25and will definitely be calling him if we need more work with this possible problem (he thought water just got out of the tub and leaked through the floor) or any others.

I got it from Angie's List. He is my plumber and I am going to use him for ever. He is a very relaxed person. He will tell you how it is when he comes in, and if he thinks that you don't really need something that you think you do, he will come and tell you. I was expecting it to be a lot more expensive. He replaced the leaking valve with a lever and it is a lot easier for me to open and close our water. It was a water pipe for the outside that started leaking downstairs inside. He is reliable. He had a problem coming the first couple of times because something always came up but he always made sure that he called and apologized, and when he did come finally, he was just excellent. He calls and lets us know if he is going to be late.

Brad gave me a call the next day after I inquired about his services, and he came out promptly to assess the work that needed to be done/give me a quote. Brad is a very nice guy, and explained in detail the work that needed to be done. He also showed me work that could be done, but wasn't totally necessary. He was extremely knowledgable, much more so than a couple of other plumbers who gave me quotes. Brad also took the time to understand everything, down to the last detail. He followed up with a quote the next day with menu pricing for different items I was going to decide on doing, all were for a fair price. He came to the house that weekend early in the morning and finished the work in half a day. He was even very nice to my wife and baby boy! There was one small issue we discovered when he left (unrelated to his work). Brad came out the next morning and fixed it at no charge. Great service! He was on time, professional, the work was very well done, and looked good. I was very impressed and fully plan on using him again should the need arise.

I ran down to the basement to do some laundry and encountered an extremely unpleasant surprise. The sewer had backed up through the floor drain. What a mess. Of course, it was the day before I started back to school (I'm a teacher). Of course, it was on a Sunday. I gritted my teeth knowing that making an emergency call on a Sunday was going to cost me a very dear body part. I checked Angie's List and called some companies in the area. Block Plumbing was the only one to return my call. Brian came over a couple hours later and fixed the problem (roots). He cleaned up nicely after himself. He was very friendly and professional. When I saw the bill, it sealed the deal for me. I will use Block Plumbing again. He charged a very reasonable amount, even though it was an emergency on a Sunday, no less! On a day that many companies take advantage of consumers, I had as pleasant an experience as I could possibly have - especially considering what lurked in the basement.

Brad was able to come out within a few hours the same day I called to take a look at the job, and give me an overview. Later that same day, he emailed to me a quote for all work we discussed. Brad performed the work in a conscientious manner, he was careful and did a few extras like cutting a hole in the sump pit cover and then custmoer fit a clear plexiglass piece so I can see if there is water in the pit w/o having to remove the entire cover. Very smart. Brad was also very polite and performed the work in the amount of time he quoted. Everything was on-time and on budget in exactly the way he said it would be. He also mentioned he could come back anytime if I had a question or needed me to have him look at the sump pump to verify it was working ok. Since I had this work done in the winter when there is little use for a sump pump, this was a nice gesture by Brad as the spring rains are right around the corner. This has given me extra piece of mind.

Brad was responsive to my request to come for a quote. He explained everything and offered money saving ways to handle things. When he did the work, he called the day before to confirm and came when he said he would. It took about the time he said it would and the price was as he said. He did a great job and installed the fixture just as he said he would. I am not easy to please, but he did a great job! I highly recommend him!

For what they did I would give them an A. I would use them again in the future.

Of the three plumbers I called for quotes, Brad was the only one to show when he said he would. I explained that I had weak water pressure and was interested in replacing the pipes to improve flow and for peace of mind knowing the copper would not leak. He reviewed my current plumbing and offered suggestions for improving the water supply, including a larger flow water meter and eliminating old water conditioning equipment. He also suggested that if I wanted to save money we could start with only replacing the easy-access piping in the basement to see if that would take care of the issue. I opted to deal with a bit more mess and expense to have everything done at once, cutting into the 1st/2nd floor walls to get to all the pipe so I would not have to deal with more galvanized pipe issues down the road. Brad and his assistant completed the work in 3 days (including having the drywall contractor repair the walls). They used drop cloths in the work areas to minimize the mess. During the project, Brad kept in touch with me to let me know what time they'd be arriving each day so I could coordinate my own schedule. I really appreciate the personal touch provided by the smaller plumbing company. Brad takes pride in his work and making sure I was satisfied with the work. His price was very reasonable. Although I don't look forward to future plumbing issues, at least I know there is someone dependable in the area to help out.

For our latest plumbing challenge, I wanted to use someone other than a regional plumbing company that I'd used several times. They had done really good work, but at a premium price. I wanted good work at a more reasonable price. I wanted to find someone that was local, preferably in Lombard. And I also wanted an independent, one-person operation. I got all that and more when I found Block Plumbing using Angie's List. Brad promptly returned my call and came to check things out that night with an initial visit. I got good vibes from him, he's a personable guy. He arranged to come back at a mutually agreeable time on Monday to do the work. He arrived right on time and got right to it. He rodded out the pipe twice over the course of an hour (tried once and didn't work, so went deeper). Second time was a charm. The sink drains better than it ever has in the 15 yrs we've been here. He was neat about things, too, especially because we'd had a new vanity where he was working. Then he also fixed the outside faucet (with new seal and vacuum breaker kit) and it works great, no leaks. The final charge of about $160 was notably below his verbal estimate of $200, so that was a nice surprise. It was a very good experience and I won't hesitate to use him again for any plumbing problem. I highly recommend Block Plumbing.

Leak from tub spout, was able to fix the leak without ordering special parts that other plumbers told me I would need to order. Identified the leak quickly, fixed quickly, no mess. Perfect!
