Used him a couple of times before. Expensive but seemed to do good work. This time he didn’t even bother to return my call.

Brad is knowledgeable and looked for the best quality solution. His work was detail oriented, and he left the work area in the house clean when he was done.

We just joined Angie's list so this is the first opportunity to comment on the work Brad did. Our old sump drain line had collapsed and needed to be replaced. Our neighbor used Brad on a different project and was very happy with his work so we went ahead and got in touch with him. Based on experiences related from friends with similar projects, I thought this would be some kind of multi-day project that would be similar to laying a trans-Atlantic cable to England. Brad finished the project in a day and that included using a sub-contractor to cut through a sidewalk and repair it after the new pipe was laid. To lay the new line, part of a very large bush we wanted to save was in the way---instead of just hacking away to clear the space like anybody else probably would have done, Brad did a very neat job of removing only what needed to be removed. To this day, the drain line does it's job and the bush never looked better.

I was installing a new faucet, sink, and vanity in my bathroom and ran into some problems with fitting and needed to have a valve shortened or moved. I called Brad on a Saturday and asked if he could come out that day. He was at my house less than two hours later. He did exactly what I needed and also helped me drill some cutouts in the back of my vanity so it would fit, which he did not have to do. His service was great, he was on time, and his price was very good. I would recommend him to anybody needing a plumber and I will definitely use him again in the future.

He’s my plumber and he is excellent. He tells me how it is and if it’s worth doing it. I take all my plumbing to him. He is very good and I am lucky to have him as my plumber. He cleans up everything. He even put in a pump in for me once last year. He guarantees his pump because it was his pump. In terms of responsiveness, I leave a message and he gets back to me. He was on time. It’s nice when I find somebody that I can use over and over again. I know I am going to be using him again because I have to have a pipe replaced in the future.

The service went very well. They were friendly and professional despite the smaller job we needed done.

I had bought all the materials. The materials were here already, I just didn't know how to put them in. I thought if I have everything here, for him, it's a labor thing. He wanted a bunch more hours to do the shower mixer. I said, "Forget it. I'll just wing it." At that point, I'll just call somebody I know. I had wanted an estimate from him for other work. He spent more of the time creating an estimate. The rest of the two hours, it didn't take him 15 minutes to put in the faucet. When I balked a little bit, he said, "I'll come out and do something else for you." I said, "Okay, when I get around to it."

My wife and I were very pleased with Brad's work. 1) Brad was the only plumber (we interviewed several) that came up with a creative solution to solve our plumbing issue. He indicated that overhead sewers would only give us minimal benefit (we have a tri-level basement - not full), He expressed his displeasure with check valves given their propensity to fail. In the end he came up with a solution that raises the lowest point of where the sewer would enter the house to the 2nd floor bathroom. The water would come in the windows before it ever came in through the sewer. 2) Brad was punctual. 3) I felt like I could trust Brad alone in our home. 4) He clearly took pride in his work and took the time to explain everything to us. 5) He helped to write up an application for the City of Elmhurst's "Modified Overhead Sewer Program" that allowed us to split the cost with the City of Elmhurst, worked with the inspectors, took it off our hands, etc... With respect to pricing it's hard to find a comparison to all the work he did. It took roughly 10 days to complete the job, a lot of supplies, and a couple additional contractors (concrete and electrical). They had to use 2500 pounds of concrete mix to fill the hole. The amount of pipe (PVC and copper) was significant. The number of bends/angles in the pipe were numerous. They were at all different heights with some in hard to reach places. It was a ton of work. Overall I felt like the price was fair.

He will try to get things done the easiest way. He's not there to make money, he's there to help the customer. His prices are also excellent. I consider him my plumber.

Hard to find a straight-up contractor like Brad. Hire him! Followed up, was on time, diagnosed and offered an honest treatment.

I am very satisfied with the work done. The piping and shut off valve to the humidifier now meet code and are convenient to use. The shut off valve for the house is now at waist level and easy to access. The kitchen faucet now works smoothly with the new cartridge.

I had purchased a Big Deal for 2 hrs of plumbing work from Block Plumbing. As luck would have it, I needed a plumber about a week after purchasing the Big Deal for a leak in my shower. Called Block first as I had purchased the coupon and left a message explaining I had a leak that needed prompt attention. Did not mention the coupon in my message. I never heard back from Block and ended up calling another plumber who came out the same day. I understand that they must get a lot of new work when they offer the coupon but I'm disappointed that they did not call me back at all. I still have the coupon and plan to try and use them for some other plumbing work and hope that I do not get the same level of responsiveness as before.

Though I hired Brad for only one job, I liked how he offered advice on the ?big picture? for the plumbing in my home. While I would have appreciated an itemized bill that separated labor from parts, I would definitely use Block Plumbing again for future work.

We remodeled our old, dingy basement. We had an existing small bath down there dating back to about 1960! It was not really installed properly either. We had to demolish it entirely, including digging up the concrete floor and reworking all the piping so it was done to meet current codes, but more importantly so it operated correctly. We also had old galvanized piping changed out to copper and new vent lines installed as part of the bathroom and laundry area remodel. Brad was really good about working with us because my partner and I are both handy and we did all the demolition, including jackhammering out the concrete floor to expose the underground piping we were having Brad replace. This also helped us keep our price down a bit. Overall, Brad did excellent work (you can tell by the soldering on all the copper piping). He was neat, conscientious, and flexible. I would highly recommend Brad's work for anyone considering minor or major plumbing work at their house. Thanks Brad!!!

I can not believe all the work that was done in 1 hour! Brad was able to get us a new toilet at a very resonable cost.

Used them as part of a Big Deal. They called within a few days of purchasing the deal to schedule an appointment. They had to cancel the first time we scheduled an appointment due to another job, but was very flexible in scheduling another appointment in a timely manner with a time that would work for me. Handle the situation very professionally and completed the job in a timely manner.

Brad Block did the work. He was flexible in scheduling, personable and neat in appearance. Gave me options, and also ideas and suggestions for other minor concerns, including a way to get free equipment that I was not aware of, and which he could easily have used as a way to suggest more money for himself. Very impressive. He went 1/2 hour over the time I had purchased thru Angie's and gave me the Angie's rate on it rather than reverting to his normal hourly rate. He also worked quickly which saved me 1/2 hour of time he could easily have stretched it out to if he'd been so inclined. The village came out a few days later to physically remove the meter Brad had removed from the water main lines, and the inspector raved about the quality of the plumbing work that Brad did. He said the sweat joints were clean and perfect looking, the extra shut off valve was a nice touch and good quality too. He said that Brad had done an excellent professional job. It was nice to get that kind of expert opinion on the quality of the work I'd had done, and made me feel even better about using Block Plumbing. I highly recommend this vendor.

Was courteous, clean, and paid attention to detail. A pleasure to have in my home, and I am very happy with finished product.

Brad contacted us less than 24 hours after we purchased the angies list deal. He came to our home and gave us an estimate. He performed the work as promised in a timely and professional manner.

It went very good, the work was well done. It was just as we had discussed, looks and works perfectly. My only minor gripe is it came in slightly more than estimated by ~$80.
