Big Joe's Sealcoating

Joe's was great. They immediately answered my call within 24 hours along with a quote. They were able to do the sealcoat within the week despite persistent bad weather this week. The reason though why I feel Joe's deserves an exceptional rating though is once the job was done I pointed out a minor issue and Joe's texted me on a Sunday and said it would be resolved immediately. A lot of other companies would have said I was being ticky-tacky in mentioning a minor issue for a 135 USD job, but not Joe's. It tells me they take a lot of pride in their jobs and strive to be the #1 sealcoater in the Western burbs. The Angie's list reviews were the main reason I initially chose Joe's and now I can add another exceptional review to their stellar record. Good job Joe's and thank you Angie's for providing me with the resources to select a top tier sealcoat company such as Joe's.

Due to rain couldn't come on original date. They called to reschedule next day. Came out late afternoon. Did a good job and called me back to make sure all was good. Some surface cracks still show, they offered to check it out and make it right Will use again.

It went great. The crew worked efficiently and was friendly. I would definitely use Big Joe's again.

I did not look at the whole process but the result was very good. The only little problem is the driveway original did not have the same roughness on the surface, some spots may need a bit more materials I guess. It would be perfect if they could apply the touch-up.. but overall I like their service, strongly recommend!

I messaged them on Angie's List and they responded right away. They got my address and stopped by to take a look and phoned us with a quote. They came when they said they would and got the job done quickly! I didn't even need to be home. The driveway looked great and they left a bill in the mailbox. I was able to pay online with PayPal. I never actually saw a person at all, but they did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. Very easy process!

Did the job on a Sunday. Very responsive and very reasonable. I highly recommend. Paid on line AFTER the job was successfuly completed, no down payment required. GREAT JOB! Thank you.

Not a problem. Polite, showed up on time. Flawless work. Well dressed guys. Very solid quality. Longer cure time than I'm used to, 48hrs instead of 24hrs, They explained that it's because they don't add water to their product.

They came out and did the work, and never took my money. After they were done with the job I noticed that the small cracks needed to be fixed before the moisture gets in there. This is an update: The contractor came back and put a 2nd seal coating that sealed the cracks that needed to be filled. This satisfies me.

I saw the reviews for Big Joe's on Angie's list and they looked to be pretty good. I reached out to Big Joe's and they called me back after about 24 hours. Their representative left a voice mail for me giving me the price of the job ($110) which seemed quite reasonable. I called Eric from Big Joe's back and scheduled the work for Tuesday, September 2. There was no followup to my phone calls and voice mails. Big Joe's later told me they were at the house but that no one answered the door. I think they may have had the wrong address. At any rate, the communication with this firm is terrible and now in their messages to me they blame me for the mixup, say they "don't have time to call and confirm appointments," and told me to never contact them again for work! Well, believe me there's no chance of that ever happening. I will let anyone looking for professional seal coating work to go to a different contractor if they want service without sarcasm.

They waited until a day when it would dry without any rain. They were out when they said they would be out and completed the job on time and it looks great.

This is the 2nd time we have used Big Joe's Sealcoating. The sealcoating was scheduled around the weather to make sure it would have enough time to dry. They cleaned the asphalt before applying the sealcoating. The sealcoating was even and smooth. In the driveway edge that abutted pavers (about 15 feet), they used a paint brush to make sure no sealer touched the pavers. The job was excellent.

Great job. My driveway was in bad shape and needed some TLC. Came home and it was all done. Nice and neat, no mess.

They were on time, professional, and completed the work as promised., I had them seal coat multiple driveways of rental properties we own or manage. They were competitive with their prices, and honest with their estimates of what they could and couldn't do for me. I wanted several deep dips filled in and they told me they could do it but it wouldn't hold, that I would just be wasting money. I appreciate their honesty and will use them in the future.

"Big Joe" and two assistants were here for two hours mostly waiting for the rubber solution to heat up. Don't know if that was unusual (it was early morning). The application was done very carefully. Next day's Seal Coating was done very quickly, also very carefully

The 2-man crew did an excellent job sealcoating my drive. In addition, they were as polite as could be! There was a slight issue with scheduling (this company is so responsive that I received calls from two different people -- unfortunately, they didn't connect with each other). However, they did extend a significant discount below the $95.00 agreed upon charge and that just speaks volumes about their business sense. A great job from an all around great company!

Adam responded quickly to my request for an estimate. He stated that since this was the first time my driveway would be sealcoated it would cost extra. (The same was stated by other companies I contacted.) He said that they would be out the following Monday and that his crew could do the work whether I was home or not. I asked about the Angie's List coupon and he said that I could give it with the payment to the crew or I could mail in my payment minus the 10%. The sealcoating was done Monday afternoon and a sign was placed across the driveway to prevent anyone from driving on it. They did a GREAT job. There was no excess sealant on my sidewalk or on the garage door. A neighbor commented on how good it looked and asked where I found Big Joe's; she was happy to hear it was from Angie's List.

Contacted the service provider through their website on a Sunday and got a response from Adam the next day. He visited my property and gave me a estimate based on site conditions. I had also inquired about crack filling which would have been an easy up charge and Adam said it wasn't necessary for my driveway. Service was scheduled in a very timely manner. Sealcoating was completed today and it was a excellent job. Things were very clean and the edges are sharp with no spill over on walks or pavers. The end of the drive was staked and ribboned off. Company is professional, honest, courteous, and very responsive. Planning on setting up annual service with Adam.

Great estimate process. I was asking whether to completely replace my driveway or if we could patch a couple spots and seal it and get a few more years. He was honest that they do not do asphalt installs but would recommend some places that would give me a fair price. In the end, I ended up having them patch a low spot and seal coat it. The patch looks ok, not great but then again...it's a patch, it is not going to match the rest. For the work they did at the price and how clean they left the place (no over splashes or stains anywhere) , I would definitely recommend them.

I've had a very good experience with them. They did a great job. They were very professional and showed up when they said they would. We got put off by weather several times and they called every time. I was just very happy overall with them. I would absolutely use them again.

Called and requested estimate for sealcoating on 5/5 and received phone estimate the same day. On 5/6 gave OK to do the job and work scheduled for 5/12. On morning of 5/12 they called and said they had to reschedule to 5/17 due to weather. It had been raining the prior week and rain was predicted for that day. They called again on 5/15 and rescheduled again to 5/18 (a Sunday) due to weather. While they rescheduled twice, it legitimately was due to weather and they notified me in a timely fashion both times. It definitely was not their fault that we had a rainy spell. The job was done to my satisfaction with extreme care given to the preparation of the surface prior to the application of the sealer. Edging of the driveway was done by them which was not done by any of the previous companies I had used. They 2 man crew showed that they really were concerned with doing the job right in both a friendly and professional way. They even provided at no extra charge a small asphalt patch that was not included in the original estimate that was determined to be needed after they prepared the surface. It was a pleasure to do business with this company.

Everything went smooth, the tar was high quality and their cost was reasonable especially since the drive way had never been sealed before. I will use them again when it comes time for another coat.

Bought a new house and call for seal coating, very profession, explained to me the drive way don not need to seal for the first year. WIll hire them next year!

They arrived as scheduled and got to work. With the crack filling we went over which ones they would fill. They filled the larger, longer ones (none of which were very wide), and also filled in the gaps between the driveway and the sidewalk. A little bit of the rubber wound up on the adjacent grass, but nothing to complain about. Looking at the work now, about a month later, the filler seems to be holding up nicely. In all but one small area, there has been absolutely no "settling" of the filler, which is something I have seen over and over again with filler materials I've bought at the store in the past. In a couple of areas the filler has actually extruded a bit, making a small "hump". (But better that than settling and allowing the crack to reappear!) I'm confident the humps will be flattened over time as tires run over them. A couple of days later they came and sealcoated the driveway. They did a good job of keeping the material off the sidewalk and entrance to my garage. Other than that - no complaints. I would have to say that on both dates we were experiencing heavy falling of leaves, and they were dealing with it as best they could. Nonetheless, there were a number of rubbercoated or sealcoated leaves on the driveway when they were done. I am hopeful that the leaves just disintegrate and the surface underneath the leaves have been adequately coated. I liked Big Joe's website - contains lots of technical information for customers. It was also very convenient that we could pay online. Also, of all the sealcoating outfits that I explored, it seems that Big Joe's was the only one to offer this hot rubber crack filling, which is something I was keenly interested in. Hopefully these successful fills will extend the life of my driveway by a few years. (Of course I won't know how well this stuff holds up through the winter until we've had a winter with it, but so far, so good!) I did have to contact Big Joe's 2 or 3 times to get him to call me back to arrange a meeting for an estimate. Don't know if that's because he is so busy (having developed a good reputation, based on his grades on Angie's List, Yelp, and other sources) and just couldn't find the time to return my calls, or because he just isn't prompt about returning phone calls. But once I signed his proposal, everything else seemed to go like clockwork, in terms of scheduling, and completing the work.

Great job. We scheduled them last month but had to cancel due to a conflict. I called them on Oct 24th and they were out the next day and did a great job on the driveway. There are several areas that meet up with concrete and not a drop of sealer on any of those areas or the grass. Happy with the job. Will use again.
