I can't recommend Modern Quality Flooring enough for any flooring needs. They went above and beyond to get the hardwood job done thoroughly and correctly, including all of the minor details and thoroughly cleaning everything and leaving the site in optimal condition along with detailed care instructions. Their pricing is very competitive and the service is great! If we ever have any future flooring needs, Danny & Modern Quality will be our first and only call.

We contacted Modern Quality Flooring and a couple of other providers that we found on Angie's List. After getting proposals from all 3 providers, we decided to have Modern Quality Flooring refinish our kitchen floors based on the owner, Danny's, professionalism and experience. Work was scheduled and began and ended on time with no negative surprises. On the positive side, Danny's workers diligently sanded the floor with dust free sanders and covered everything in plastic leaving no cleanup for me after completion - either in the kitchen or elsewhere in the house. Plus, our kitchen floor looks GREAT! The whole process from start to finish was surprisingly easy for me, too. Thank you Danny for a job well done!

I would highly recommend Danny and his team. They removed carpeting and refinished the hardwood floors in the house that my wife and I bought. Danny and his team showed up early on the day work started, put down a few sample stains so that I could choose one, were very responsive throughout the process, and finished on time. And he is honest. I was considering replacing a few floor boards in one of the bedrooms because there were some gaps in the wood. Danny said he would replace them if I wanted to, which would have increased the price of the project a fair amount with the price of wood. But he recommended against it, saying he thought he could use wood filler and it wouldn’t be noticeable, and he was right. How’s that for trustworthiness? Turning down extra profit and saving us money, while still producing a great result. Would enthusiastically recommend Danny and his team to anyone who needs hardwood floor refinishing.

Danny and his crew do great work. We had them redo our condo years ago and more recently our home after water damage from a winter storm, and the results were excellent both times. Danny is very responsive to all communication, and we've appreciated the way he walks through their approach and the options you have. Their work is about as dustless as you can get considering the work, and with low VOC water-based finishes we were able to move back in quickly. Highly recommended! This time around we had two floors (2000ft2) and three stairwells refinished, which took about 6 days of work in total to remove/install part of the floor and sand and refinish the rest.

They did a great job and we would absolutely hire them again.

He took the time to explain the different options to us so we could make educated decisions. He was quick to schedule our installation and always very responsive. Danny met me at our new condo in Oak Park right after our closing, and gave us several great options for our new bedroom floors. He took extra effort to give me 4 different estimates for each of the options. While he was measuring the rooms, he also pointed out an electrical outlet issue that I hadn't seen! His team did a fantastic job throughout! They neatly and efficiently removed all the old nasty carpeting, installed the soundproofing layer, the engineered oak flooring, and all the baseboards and thresholds. They were so patient and considerate while I had 2 electricians working on the same day (not exactly ideal, but couldn't be avoided). The most impressive thing to me was their attention to detail and quality work. Even the baseboards were neatly cut to fit around the old radiator covers perfectly. They also do kitchens and other jobs, and I plan to call Danny again for future work.

It was a very good experience, Danny and his crew are the best, my floor looks wonderful l love it and so do all twelve of my family members, and most of all my husband is happy thank you again Danny.

Danny did a great job, above and beyond the contract. He picked up the materials from the store and delivered them to the site. He moved all the heavy appliances in order to install flooring underneath. He installed the flooring in difficult places (e.g., up against a round pillar).

Owner/Operator Danny came to give estimate and give suggestions on work to be done. He gave options on things to be done or not done. When all the work to be done was agreed upon Danny sent in a great crew of guys who knew what they were doing. When they were done my floors looked like a million dollars. Therefore, I give them the highest recommendation and I would definitely hire them again. Great work guys.

EXCELLENT! Danny was extremely flexible, even though I had to postpone the original installation date at the last minute. He is very communicative and very professional. The job was done perfectly, on time (actually sooner than expected) and everything was totally cleaned up afterward. Danny's crew is very polite and work very hard. Definitely would hire again in a heartbeat!

The short version of the story is: Danny and his crew were simply tremendous. My floors look OUTSTANDING and they were so patient and flexible with us during the whole process. I was especially impressed by how responsive Danny was: it was very easy to get him on the phone to schedule and to answer all questions. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. The longer version of the story might be of interest to some, so I’ll tell the whole story here: My wife and I were having a very hard time rehabbing our older condo in Hyde Park. Everything seemed to go wrong. Before we found Danny and Modern Flooring, we initially hired another company to refinish our floors. That other company did half our floors, but we could not get them to schedule the second half. After waiting months, we decided to drop them and hire a new company to finish the job; that’s when we called Modern Flooring. And we are so glad we did so. Modern Flooring had to match the exact color of the first half of my house that the original company already completed. We told Modern Flooring the exact technique, color stain, and finish that the first company said they did (we pulled the instructions directly from their estimate). Modern Flooring did exactly what we asked them, but the color did not match. Let me stress that this was NOT Modern Flooring’s fault. They did exactly what we asked them to do; the issue was the first company did not perform the work in the manner the said they would in their estimate. You can imagine how stressful this was to me and my wife. We had a limited budget and now our floors did not match. Danny and his crew were so very patient and understanding with us. Danny himself came back out the following morning to assess the situation and go over our options. My wife and I were sleep deprived and stressed; we weren’t at our best. But Danny was incredibly patient and understanding. He went over our options to fix the situation and made everything crystal clear. When he realized that we were so stressed because re-doing the floors would put us over budget, he kindly and generously agreed to fix the first company’s mistake at a reasonable cost. Let me restate that: the problem we faced was entirely the fault of another company, but Danny of Modern Flooring generously came down on his price so we could make it work. Long story short: Modern Flooring was patient, understanding, responsive, and performed amazing work. We’re so happy with the outcome. Thank you Danny and thank you Modern Flooring!
