The consultation went very well; liked the representative and the services they offered. We are still debating re-staining v. a bit more serious remodel.

Crew (Rick and Mike) did an excellent job, Renu was willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were completely satisfied.

.Don Goodwin was the lead contractor. Very personable and responsive. Very skilled. Very prompt for what turned out to be a 6 week project. It is obvious that Don takes a personal pride in his craftsmanship. Beto was the 2nd, and again was a hardworking skillfull, curteous and was always prompt. Anatoli did most of the wiring and some installation of the appliances. Again, very knowledgeable and hardworking. All were hardworking honest individuals, who often worked alone on the project. Any issues that came up (as there always is) were quickly modified to our satisfaction. After completion several minor issues remained open, to which both Don and Beto seemed more than happy to return to the house and remedy. Since this our first major renovation of an existing home we learned many things, the most important being that you have to review the ongoing work on a consistent basis and communicate work that is inconsistant with your initial concept. this is natural, and Don's crew was very accomodating.

I am new to Angies list and wanted to add this review about our cabinet refacing experience even though it was several years ago. Renu uses quality wood for the cabinets and it has held up excellently for more than 6 years. No fading and easy to clean. Everyone thinks we got new cabinets and can't tell that this was a refacing job instead. We were very impressed with the quality work and professional manner in which the work was carried out. I would highly recommend the company and would use them again.

The salesman was very available. After we signed the contract we get two days to break it and they come home. I was getting really nervous after I signed because there was a little bit of pressure to sign that night. And if we signed that night we get $2000 off. So we thought we will think about it because if we call back and break it we thought they will charge us $2000 and I will never do that again but it turned out okay. I did call them, every details in the contract that we changed or he changed was in the contract. They did an excellent job. The two guys that they sent have been doing it for 30 years and they were really experienced carpenters and I think they really did a good job. We really didn’t compare the price a lot. We knew we were saving a lot of money by doing the reface itself instead of getting new cabinets as I didn’t want a mess here. They were very professional.

They put in new cabinets, granite top, back splash tile, and a new sink. I like everything about their services, I have no complaints about them. They do very good work, they take their time. Everything fits right. They do very nice work.

they charged us for an estimate and design that was completely not what we wanted - we were clear about what we didn't want in the project before we sat down with them, Then they kept calling and changing the price of the estimate to try to get us to go with them. They seemed slimey and untrustworthy, so we went with someone else that had a more expensive estimate but who I trusted more and I am very glad I did that.

They gave me an estimate and stayed within the estimate. They tore up the bathroom and put it back together again. It included the walls, tiles, shower and the floor. They were knowledgeable and punctual. They completed the job on time and cleaned up the place once the work was completed.

horrible communication. cabinets scratched upon installation ( very expensive cabinet) and had to argue to get them replaced instead of "fixed" with a paint pen. Were promised a two man crew. received one man crew that usually showed up late, if at all. Supplies mis-ordered, had to wait ages for appropriate material to arrive. then once the materials allegedly arrived the guy would promise to come out and install , but never did. this turned a 2 week porject into a two month abomination. literally had to threaten to withold or cancel payment to get the rest of the kitchen complete. luckily we paid by credit card. sent 5 letter & 3 emails to the head of Renu...never received a single response. i would never suggest this company to anyone i liked.

We were told in the beginning that this was a 3-week job, and now we are in the 11th week, and the job is still incomplete. The wrong cabinets were ordered, and the company refused to replace all of the cabinets with the cabinets we ordered - instead they attempted to cover-up the differences between the cabinets. The bathroom tile was not grouted properly, and the entire bathroom had to be re-grouted and is still not exactly right (discolored and cracking grout). We are still waiting for cabinet doors that were re-ordered weeks ago due to cracks. We were promised a quality product and and this is not what we are getting. ReNu sends someone out to "fix" the problems, but we have to call and complain every single day about things that should have been done correctly to begin with - and its still not right. Overall it is an unbelievably sloppy job, and we wouldnt recommend this company to our worst enemy. We are probably going to have to pay another company to clean up ReNus mess.

Everything went well except the Swantile on the shower walls. It would not adhere completely to the drywall and was loose in several areas-needed to be braced against walls for adhesive to work and workman did not have essential tools to brace. We/he used our 2 suspension shower curtain rods and some boards we had on hand to try to brace it, but that was not sufficient. Workman agreed that it was a poor choice for the shower walls. Also, we have a window above tub & window trim incl. with Swantile was insufficient and workman had to use trim boards for top half which didn't match up with incl. trim. Didn't look good. Called Re-Nu to express displeasure with shower wall product, they agreed to credit us cost of Swantile & allowed us to choose ceramic tile ($5/sq.ft.allow.) Swantile removed, ceramic tile installed on walls and around window. 3 shelves & soap dish installed (addl.cost). Start date 5/16, finish 08/23 due us out of town 3mos. Workman punctual, but could've used help w/o.

Initially, I thought that it was an ok job. It got worse, as time went on. I purchased the pieces through a salesman, that came to the house. I realized, after the fact, that I was not sure what I had really purchased. The counter and the cabinet, did not match. I also, was told to pick out the tile, at a tile store. I did not have any samples from the rest of the bathroom to help with colors. It turned out that, the tile I picked out, was too dark. My biggest problem was that the grout on the tile floor cracked. They came back to fix the floor 10 times, in the past 3 years. They continue to patch the problem, rather than fix it. Also, it is very difficult to get them, to return my calls. Last time, it took 2 months to get them to my house, from the time, I first called. It is too bad, that this job was never done well.

Fast workers. Prompt. Clean. Had the whole kitchen finished in three days.

The first contractor they sent to our home had never done a bathroom before and was asking me how to get the old tub out. He also called a plumber from the want ads to help him as he obviously didnt know what he was doing. I immediately called the general contractor with my complaints. After some heated discussions they then sent someone who was able to complete the job. Though the completed job was good enough I believe it could have been much better. I would never consider talking to them or allowing them near my home again. The owner was rude to me on the phone and told me they were loosing money on the job. Although I doubt that very much, if any money was lost it was due to their own inability to send someone to do the work, most of which had to be torn out and redone from scratch. These people should not be allowed to be in business.

I CALLED ABOUT A FOLLOW UP AND THEY WERE NASTY. QUOTED A PRICE OF $22 - $26 A SQUARE FOOT AND TOLD ME TO USE THAT AS A BAROMETER FOR PLANNING. I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. WOULD NOT SUGGEST USING THIS COMPANY. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

I SUPPLIED THE NEW TOILET AND VANITY. RENU SUPPLIED THE TILE FLOOR, VANITY TOP, AND FAUCET. I WAS CHARGED $2,880.00 BY THEM TO HAVE THIS WORK DONE. I LATER LEARNED THAT I GREATLY OVERPAID FOR THEIR WORK, CONSIDERING THAT I SUPPLIED THEM WITH THE NEW TOILET AND VANITY. I WILL NEVER CONSIDER RENU AGAIN FOR ANY HOME IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS. I HAVE NO COMPLAINT AGAINST THE TWO MEN WHO CAME OUT AND DID THE INSTALLATION WORK. MY COMPLAINT IS AGAINST THE SALESMAN FOR RENU AND THE PRICE I WAS CHARGED BY THEM.
