My book reader of a son has been without light for at least 6 weeks as we waited to give Howard the benefit of the doubt knowing he has been going through personal problems. We called him to come and replace it. It took at least two weeks to get a response and then were blown off on 2 appts. He refuses to call back or to resolve the problem 6 weeks later. I found this to be surprising since we have referred friends to G&H. I felt he should have kept his appt or had his partner back him up. A phone call would have been nice to a client who has hired him at least 6-10 times in 2 years.

Everything he did was excellent, (ie prices, work).

They did a good job. They actually noticed our ceiling fan was wired weird so they fixed it for free. They had a big job and did not leave a mess. I would recommend them

I had mistakenly plugged a space heater into a bathroom fixture plug and heard a "pop" and smelled smoke. The bathroom light wouldn't work and when we checked the fuses they were okay. I called Howard and he was very prompt in responding. He showed up when he said he would. The job was a little more challenging than he had anticipated, but he was able to complete the work in 2 hours. As far as I can tell, everything is fine now.

Everything was excellent. The first thing I really liked about this company is that both Greg and Howard are always exactly on time. I've recently had a lot of work done on the house and virtually every other company gave me a time window (We'll be there between 2 and 4 in the afternoon, we'll there after 4, etc.). Greg and Howard gave me the exact time I wanted and they were always precisely on time. If your time is important to you and/or you hate waiting, use this company. Both Howard and Greg are very personal and easy to work with. They knew I had very little knowledge of electrical work and were more than willing to take the time to explain things at my level. If you don't like to be rushed when working with contractors or have them use terminology that you don't understand without explanation, use this company. The work was perfect, the price was much less than I expected. If you like excellent work for a low price, use this company. I could go on and on.

Howard is a very friendly guy who also knows his stuff. He made a complete walk-through of my 1910 house to ensure that all of the electrical systems were sound before completing his estimate. He answered all of my questions, addressed my concerns, and listened to what I wanted/expected from the job. He also gave me options where applicable and listed the drawbacks/benefits of each.

Was able to come out the same day and had my specific part in stock, which other companies did not. They were on-time and did a thorough and complete job.

Howard was on time for the estimate appointment. He indicated that he was going to send an estimate before taking off on vacation. Unfortunately, I never received the estimate nor any follow up call from this service provider. This was a significant project. I was disappointed in the missed follow up and quote. I had to proceed without a quote from this service provider. I specfically selected this vendor in my quote process, as they had received Angie's choice award.

My original electrician had to cancel and I needed someone to come out that same day. Howard was able to come out that night. He was courteous and professional and clean. He answered all my questions and his price, although more than the original guy, was very reasonable compared to other estimates I got.

Howard called me back promptly and showed up when he said he would. The work was done very well, completed right on schedule and all my interactions were very professional

I called two companies on the list. I had a problem that I wanted taken care of right away. The other company has a dispatch system so I was able to reach a live person immediately and have the problem corrected. Howard was responsive and returned my call within several hours and left a number for me to page him. Based on reports I would consider him for any future planned electrical work.

Howard came over within the hour, even though it was after 6 p.m. He was very friendly and educated me along the way. It took only a few minutes to figure out the problem and he charged me a nominal fee. In addition, I asked him to write up an estimate for adding new circuits and outlets in our garage and I hope to hire him for that work as well. I was very happy with the entire experience and thankful that Angie's list provided G&H Electric as a resource.

Howard returned my call within a couple of hours & stopped by and completed the job later that day.

Howard and his friend Greg were incredibly clean, efficient, polite, and professional. Howard beat all other quotes I received and was very honest. He strived to do what we wanted not what was easiest. He is easy to reach by phone or email. I recommend him to anyone who needs any type of electrical work done.

HOWARD IS VERY PROFESSIONAL. HE MADE A THOROUGH EVALUATION OF OUR SITUATION AND THEN SUGGESTED AN EFFICIENT AND COST-EFFECTIVE WAY TO APPROACH THE REPAIRS. IT TOOK A WHILE TO GET ON HIS SCHEDULE BUT IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT.

HE WAS OVER 30 MINUTES LATE FOR THE ESTIMATE VISIT AND DIDN'T CALL TO LET US KNOW. HE PROMISED AN ESTIMATE WITHIN A WEEK AND HASN'T PROVIDED ONE TO DATE (OVER TWO WEEKS LATER). IN THE MEANTIME, WE'VE DECIDED TO GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY AS WE WERE SO IMPRESSED WITH THEIR PROFESSIONALISM DURING THE ESTIMATE PROCESS.

WONDERFUL! I COULD NOT EXPECT MORE FROM A COMPANY. THEY TRULY KNOW WHAT SERVICE MEANS. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM WITHOUT HESITATION!!

HOWARD WAS ON TIME, EFFICIENT, VERY POLITE & FRIENDLY. WE WOULD MOST CERTAINLY CALL HIM AGAIN FOR ANY ADDITIONAL ELECTRICAL WORK WE NEED IN THE FUTURE. WE APPRECIATED THE FACT THAT HE DID ONLY WHAT NEEDED DOING. HE COULD HAVE RUN NEW WIRING, SINCE WE THOUGHT THAT WAS PART OF THE PROBLEM, BUT HE SAID THE WIRING WAS FINE, AND ONLY FIXED WHAT WAS BROKEN.

AFTER PLAYING PHONE TAG FOR A FEW DAYS, HOWARD MADE APPOINTMENT TO COME TO OUR HOUSE AND ARRIVED PROMPTLY. HE WAS VERY NICE TO WORK WITH AND VERY CONSCIENTIOUS.

HE IS VERY COMPETENT AND VERY REASONABLE. HE ALSO GIVES IT TO YOU STRAIGHT, AND DOES NOT LOOK TO MAKE MORE OUT OF SOMETHING THAT MIGHT BE LESS. OUR FIRST OPTION, WHEN IT COMES TO ELECTRICAL WORK.

HOWARD CAME OUT PROMPTLY AND FINISHED THE WORK QUICKLY. HE ALSO SHOWED ME THE WIRING THAT HAD BECOME BURNED OUT OVER TIME. THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE, AND I WILL NOT HESITATE TO USE HIM AGAIN FOR ANY ELECTRICAL WORK WE NEED DONE.

MR. GREENBERG WAS A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER THAN ORIGINALLY ESTIMATED, BUT DID THE WORK QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY. HIS COMMENTS WERE POLITE AND HELPFUL.

HOWARD IS FIRST RATE. I HAD TO STAY AFTER HIM TO GET A CALL BACK, BUT ONCE WE GOT SET UP, IT ALL WENT GREAT.

HOWARD'S WORK IS THE BEST. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO HAVE HIM IN AGAIN. I GAVE HIM A KEY AND HE WAS ON TIME, CLEANED UP AFTER HIMSELF, AND FINISHED THE WORK ON TIME AND FOR THE AGREED-UPON PRICE.

HOWARD GOLDBERG IS EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND VERY REASONABLE. HE IS MORE THAN WILLING TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE WHILE HE WORKS ON A JOB. YOU ALWAYS LEARN SOMETHING WHEN HE DOES THE JOB. DON'T LET THE LIBERTYVILLE ADDRESS FOOL YOU, HE IS LICENSED IN CHICAGO AND DOES COME OUT TO THE CITY. THE $525 IS ACTUALLY THE SUM TOTAL FOR THREE SEPARATE JOBS!
