Precision Door Service

Workers called to come early which was acceptable to me - excellent punctuality. Quickly they evaluated the door mechanisms and were very professional. Well other problems where found and they were explained and I agreed with their evaluation and diagnosis. The complete garage door mechanisms needed to be replaced including: spring, cables (frayed), end plates and cable drums, as well as rollers and door balance tune up per special Angies deal. Cost was $499 + $99 for Angies deal (So the cost for this size job is ~$600) - more than wanted to pay but due to a weak moment I did. While I would recommend Precision due to their professionalism. I should note, on my yes for hiring again, I may look further due to their high cost - per my budget concerns.

It turned out fine. I was disappointed that it was only the wheel bearings I thought maybe it would be a little bit more advertised but in all it was okay. I read through other offers that Angie's List provided, I cold have gotten the same deal at a lower cost and I'm kind of confused as when I purchased this up from Angie's List, and I entered the zip code, and I find the location that's able to perform the work, then I will get a response from them saying that you're too far out of the zip code area and I entered in my zip code. Angie's List offered the same type of service for a much lower cost, but based on the description that I read for the provider who was charging $89 I saw that I did not get of the things that were advertised and those that were charging $69 were pretty much the same thing that I could have receive from the offer for $89 so I thought that I paid a little bit more than what I had to. They were wheel bearings I mean the quality is fine, the quality would have apply to any service provider that were adding wheels, not wheels but rollers to a garage door. They were on time. The experience was fine. I just need to be diligent of what I'm reading and what's being said. I need to ask specific questions because the description for the rollers was very detailed and I thought that I would be getting more because they were charging $89. So, I thought that I would be getting more of the service that was provided. It turns out when I did further investigation of other offers on Angie's List, I could have gotten the same deal for $69 versus $89 and in addition to that, the zip code doesn't always guarantee that they will perform work in your area which is another concern. Because if I'm looking to have work done instead of entering a zip code, then I would expect that provider as I enter in the zip code would be able to perform the work, but that's not necessarily the case. I like the service, there was no dislike except for what I described about the description. A company can charge whatever they like but I'd like to make sure that I'm getting the best offer that I possibly can.

It worked out great. The work they did is such a big improvement because the garage door is quiet, it moves at a steady pace and it's not rickety like it used to be. It's just amazing. The difference is like night and day. Initially they came out to replace the rollers, it was really a mess and then we found out that the motor was failing, because it was leaving a mark. So I decided to replace it before it goes.

The technician came out and indicated that the service couldn't be performed and the door should be replaced. He gave a price on replacement and when I indicated that the price was over my budget, he advised where I could possibly go for a lower price/lower quality option. Seemed honest and I would use them in the future for service but likely not for a replacement door.

Unlike other big deals, where the provider has contacted me after I bought the deal, I had to contact this provider. But when I did, they were able to schedule someone to come out the same day. I was very pleased that they were able to come out so quickly. The technician was very prompt and professional. He explained everything and made some suggestions for down the line fixes. I would rate the service highly overall and would recommend this provider.

I am in the process of getting estimates on a garage door before I decided who will replace my door.

It went well. He wasn't pushy and I didn't feel that he was being deceptive. They recommended the lift master. They were professional. They were courteous. They were efficient. I contacted the company as I kept getting an error message. They told me that it was a service issue in the manufactured. The man kept trying the door, adjusting and lubricating where he heard squeaks until it appeared to be working perfectly. It seems to have been a good deal. The lady who booked the service told me that the 9am to 1 pm timeframe was what it would take for the service. This was hard for me to believe (I asked her if it was a window of time and she said no) and it proved not to be true. I was waiting from 9 to about 10:30am and after 2 calls to the office, the found that he had stopped to help another tech straighten a door out. He got to my house by 10:30 and was done shortly after 12:15pm. He told me it was a window for the call. The admin person should be trained better. On another note, they were very understanding of a family crisis and rescheduled on the day of the original appointment so that was nice.

Service went better than expected. Tech was on time, courteous and most importantly, candid with correcting the issues.

When the technician arrived he diagnosed the problem as an issue with the spring that was broken. Since the cost to replace the spring was 450 or so he suggested replacing the door, which we had in mind for later, but decided to go ahead with the suggestion. We didn't use the garage door after that, as he suggested, until the work was scheduled. All through right up to when he arrived, the door opener worked fine. After he installed the new door, the door opener refused to respond. At this point instead of diagnosing the actual problem, he says that the door opener was busted and that it would cost another few hundred dollars to replace. I called him out for providing incorrect diagnosis after which he lost his cool and started quoting all the waivers we signed for which he wouldn't be held financially responsible for addressing the issue; all in a raised, agitated tone. After he called the office (I'm assuming he talked to his i/c) he suggested the door opener may be overheated, to wait for it to cool off and try again and that worked. Ultimately the new door worked with the older door opener. I've rated them low because of the service guy who was unprofessional in his tone when things didn't seem to work, as well as for incorrectly diagnosing the issue with the door.

Service tech Daniel came out, on a hot Sunday in July. Replaced rollers and check door was balanced. Will hire again.

Very fast service. Kevin actually came out on Saturday. He was very quick, competent and thorough. Never complained that it was one of the hottest days of the year. A very "easy to do business with" company. I will make sure to keep their information.

Bait and Switch?and Switch?and Switch The positive Angie?s List Reviews must be mistaken Called them for a quote to repair garage door spring. Told them it was a large 2 car garage door. They first said would need to make a $65 service call to quote but I asked them to give me a range. They said $99 to $159 for the springs. I said my door has two springs is that per spring or for both springs? They then clarified it was for EACH spring. I should have called someone else at that point but figured it was just the person on the phone, the Angie?s List Reviews were positive and they could be here later the same day. When the technicians arrived at the end of the 3.5 hour window (but they called about halfway into the window to let me know) they looked at my door and spring. They then quoted $180/spring. I said that was higher than they told me on the phone. They then said my doors were bigger than most, 8 feet versus 7 feet. And the $180 is for the low end spring so what I really needed was their $200 each heavy duty guaranteed for life springs. I said sure to get the guarantee and just get the work done. Then they tried to pitch a $699 package that they would rebuild my entire garage door since they saw other things on the garage door that could be a problem. My house is less than 10 years old and is well maintained. I looked at the areas of wear and they all looked fine to me: no fraying, no wear, etc. Again, I should have told them to leave and called another company but I didn?t have another few hours to waste waiting around for another service call the next day. After the spring was installed they made me sign a bunch of things. One said that I only accepted ?partial service? and then tried to make me fill out a comment card. I had a $15 coupon from their website which they accepted but then after I paid the billed realized they added on a $15 ?fuel surcharge.? Since this was never mentioned before and they are located in the town next to mine (about a 10 minute drive) I thought this was excessive but I had a conference call to join in 3 minutes and at this point just wanted them to leave. So the $15 coupon was miraculously canceled out by the $15 surcharge. Even better ? looking at my receipt after they left my lifetime warranty is now only 10 years since I didn?t agree to the rest of the work they suggested. (That was never explained to me ahead of time.) They fixed the door but they rip you off ? charging you much more than their quote, changing terms and adding surcharges. My advice: Don?t use them, find a more reputable business.

It was great. They did a good job. I purchased it as a gift for my daughter. They came right out and they did such a good job. As a matter of fact, I am going to purchase it for myself. They responded right away. I have talked to the guy. I just need to go in and purchase.

He came out right away, fixed the problem and communicated with me the whole time. He had to tighten some things and replace the rollers and now the garage door works great! Precision Door Svc was very professional and arrived on time and I would recommend them to others.
