Grout Expert

It was outstanding. We had a previous experience from North Shore Tile and it cost twice the amount for just the shower. John was excellent. He was such a gentleman and did a great job. He was very clean and even removed his shoes when entering our home. The phone staff was excellent in scheduling.

It is hard to describe how great our shower now looks. It was such an embarrasment for anyone to see it before. We had tried to fix the problems outselves for the past several years, and it just became worse. [Trademark Redacted] explained how the install had been done incorrectly, product used and incorrect placement of tiles, which demonstrated how the damage occured. Kevin, owner, had quoted a job of about 4-5 hours. It took John, almost 8 hours (straight) and yet the quote remained the same. John was pleasant throughout the job and instructed us on how to maintain. The quality of this job will last many years. I can't thank Kevin and his team enough.

If all contractors were as good to work with as this company, remodeling would be a lot easier. I lost the fight with my lovely wife to completely replace our master bathroom. Considering, we needed to deal with a master shower desperately in need of repair. I found this company on Angie's list. We are in Kenosha, WI but they came up from Northern IL to help us. They were on time for both the estimate and work. Very professional and excellent communication throughout the process. Our tech was Brandon Merges. He was excellent. His attention to details was amazing. I highly recommend them. they brought that shower back from the dead and upgraded the look of our entire bathroom. Thank you!

We have used them twice now. They were competent and reasonable in their pricing. There was one person here doing the work.

It went well. The price was the same as quoted by another provider, so fair but more expensive than I would have expected. We picked the color and set a date. The tech arrived on time and completed the job as planned. The place was left in almost the same condition as they began with (left some grout colored smudges on the toilet and light switches, they wiped off with no effort). All in all the quality was good, and completed the job on time and on budget.

He was very professional. He explained what he was doing and gave color choices. He took great care to keep the work areas clean, and he was very careful as he walked through other areas of the house. I am most pleased with the prompt and professional service I received.

Did not grout on top of glass block window. Otherwise every thing was ok. I would liked to have had a larger beading around tub.

Service provided was excellent, punctual, & professional. Service team well represented the company. Used them about 6 - 8 yrs ago for same thing & was glad to use them again. Glad they are still in business. Only company I would use. Trust them 100%.

Very responsive, prompt and professional. Kevin happened to be in the neighborhood and was able to conduct an estimate 24 hours earlier which was great. I felt like he gave me the most accurate assessment of the work we needed to do (other estimates seemed to try to sell me work I did not need. Our bathroom was generally in good condition, but needed to simply be cleaned/resealed after 12 years)...Work was scheduled within the next 10 days and it went very well. Arrived on time, worked very hard while here, and we are thrilled with the end product. It looks like a new bathroom. Thank you!

Kevin came out to give an estimate very promptly after I called. Work was scheduled within two weeks of the estimate. The technician called to confirm his arrival time, was respectful of cleaning the area after his work was done, and took all the time necessary to give me various options on the grout color. The grout looks like new, and I'm very pleased with the quality of the work.

I would like to take this opportunity to sing Kevin's praises, an let him know how much I appreciated the professional services from the time he himself made the estimate through job completion performed by his staff. Brandon, from his company, arrived on time, to perform the services. Brandon was courteous, neat as a pin, and did supurb work. Actually, Brandon's work exceeded my expectations because both bathroom showers/tub area look brand spanking new! My husband and I appreciate the quality of work performed by Brandon, and are most grateful to him that we did not have to go through the pain staking time and expense to get new tiles for our showers/bath areas. Hassle free from start to finish. Technician arrived on time and was very tidy! Caulked in kitchen around counter & sink. Showed many examples of caulk colors before completing the job. Caulked around tub, sink & wall in ancient bathroom. Caulked, grouted & sealed tile in master shower. It looks like new.

They were very professional. However, it seemed like there was a miscommunication between the lady in the office and the worker in the field - she would call and say he would be at the home at one time, and he would show up later.

Kevin replied promptly to my email. My tile floor in the hall bathroom was getting discolored and had a crack in a couple of places. He quoted me on rebonding the tile, clean, stain, seal the grout floor, recaulk the shower. In the master bathroom he quoted me on cleaning, staining, sealing the floor and the shower. No guarantee that the pebble tile floor in my shower would be stain free as it's a difficult surface to clean. I understood that. He was thorough in explaining everything to me and did not rush.

The [Trademark Redacted] was first contacted in December, 2013. An appt was set up with the owner, Kevin, for early January, 2013. Kevin did not show up for this appt. It was rescheduled and Kevin did come the second time. He was very nice and stated the repairs needed would be very simple to complete. He gave the estimate to the cleaning service who planned to cover the cost of repairs. Following this, it took over a month to actually schedule the work, due to a great deal of poor communication between the [Trademark Redacted] and the cleaning service. At one point, we were contacted out of nowhere by a workman, claiming to be the "stone expert" who came over to "look at the job." His assessment completely contradicted what the owner, Kevin, had told us- and he seemed much less optimistic about their ability to complete the repairs. When I asked why his opinion contradicted what we were told by the owner, all he would say was, "I'm the stone expert." The work was finally scheduled in mid-February to be completed on Saturday, March 8 (with an additional hour planned for Monday, March 10 to complete the caulking). I called [Trademark Redacted] early on Thursday, March 6 to confirm the appointment. I did not get a call back until Friday, March 7- at which point the "stone expert" workman called to say we were "all set for Monday, March 10." When I tried to correct him and began to express displeasure, the workman began to speak incessantly and not let me get a word in edgewise. I literally had to interrupt him and ask him to "please stop talking" so he could listen to what I had to say. He ultimately spoke with the owner and called back, "assuring" me they would be at our home "first thing" Saturday "between 8 and 9 am." On Saturday, my husband and I woke up early and were ready and waiting for the [Trademark Redacted] men to arrive at 8 am. By 9:30, when nobody showed, I called the workman/"stone expert" on his cell. No answer. I called Kevin the owner. No answer. The workmen ("stone expert" and an assistant) finally showed at 9:40. I expressed my displeasure with their arrival time. The "stone expert" just stood in my doorway, staring at me. No apology. No phone call to warn us he was late. He then muttered something about having been "UP ALL NIGHT BECAUSE OF HIS FEET ITCHING" and he overslept. YES, he actually said this. He told me he was "afraid to call me" because of our unpleasant interaction on the phone the previous day. And then... he LEFT. He walked off the job- never even made it past our front door!!!! I left another message for Kevin, the owner, and I have yet to get any response from him. I have been a physician in practice for 22 years, and I have NEVER experienced this kind of unreliability and lack of professionalism before. DO NOT use this company!!!

Brandon called just before he was arriving. He arrived within 10 minutes of the scheduled time. He first went to take a look at what was to be done and explained what he was going to do. He worked for over 2 hours on the job. I was consulted about the color caulk to use. He added some grout where needed to complete the job correctly. The area was left clean and the job performed excellent.

On-time and final recommendation was to do less than I expected, at less cost. Only a pro would do that !

Great job! The one upside to putting off doing a review is that the services were done two plus months ago, and the work is still great. They took out the old caulk in our main bathroom and recaulked. The new caulk is still shiny and solid. We had remodeled our bathroom about a year ago, and the company who caulked then didn't do a great job, so it's obvious that having it redone was a good decision.

Initially there was an issue but to Kevin's credit he came back, reviewed the work, and corrected the issues right away.

Prompt arrival, did exactly what they said they would for the price quoted. Nice job overall, would use again.

He was running about 15 minutes late but he called to let me know. He was courteous and listened to my concerns. I have a spot on my bathroom wall where the grout keeps cracking around two tiles and it appeared that the tiles were sliding down. He diagnosed that the problem causing the grout to crack and the tiles to move was that the glue holding the tiles to the wall and failed. He removed the tiles, reattached them, regrouted the area and recaulked my tub/wall area. I have used [Trademark Redacted] in the past and had great results and this time was no different. I highly recommend them.

Kevin arrived on time and reviewed what needed to be done and provided a quote. They were quite flexible in scheduling since I tend to travel quite a bit so needed a specific day of the week. Nick did a great job on both bathrooms -- really took pride in his work. I was very pleased with the end product. The grout was the right color, the re-caulk line was very precise and the repair job on the tile looks great.

Overall, they did a very nice job. They did not show up at the scheduled time because the worker had left his materials at another job in downtown Chicago the day before. Ultimately they could not find the materials and had to purchase new materials. Therefore they did not show up until much later in the day then was originally planned. However, it wasn't a huge inconvenience as we planned to stay home that day while they were doing the work, and the quality of the work was well done. Considering that they only used standard materials you could buy at Home Depot, and the total amount of time to do the work, I thought it was a bit expensive at $150 per shower or tub area. He didn't spend more than an hour to 90 minutes in each location, so that's a pretty high hourly rate for someone to clean and apply caulk, so I would certainly ask them about the extent of the work next time. Other than that, they do a good job and you can trust that they will do it right.

Overall they did a very nice job in cleaning and sealing the granite and marble that had not been done in the 15 years since it was installed. It was a costly project, but considering the total amount of work they had to do, I believe it was reasonable.
