I give Ireland an A+. I thought the charge was very reasonable for an emergency call. I think it was around $140.00. I would definitely use Ireland again and highly recommend them.
Description of Work: I own a commercial building in Libertyville, IL and one of my tenants was having a problem with their furnace. The Ireland tech came out right away even though we didn't have an account with them. He looked at the unit and then even climbed up on the roof to check the venting. It was determined that exhaust gas might have been entering the intake and was possibly cutting off the system. We took care of extending the exhaust pipe and have not had a repeat of the problem.

They are very reliable and I would recommend them to anyone. I believe their prices were competitive and they made sure all the rebates that were allowed were taken.

They are incredibly responsive and they go above and beyond to take care of us. They were excellent. We switched to them from another company. We were un happy with our previous company. The price is competitive compared to other companies and it’s well worth it.

They maintain the units and take care of our dehumidifier.They handle all of our heating and air conditioning needs. They have done some reconfiguration when needed. Their service is great! They have been very good. Any problems I have had, they have always been very prompt in coming to the home to check and make repairs. The owner follows up to make sure everything is fine. The price is fair for the work they do. They do a lot of work.
Description of Work: They maintain three of the big units in my home since we moved in about two years ago. I have the maintenance agreement they come twice a year to maintain the units.

Work was completed just fine. Technician that came out was first time to our home and somewhat unfamiliar with our complex system (multiple A/C units, boilers and floor heating systems), but satisfactorily completed the job. Ireland is always professional and we recommend them to anyone.

Serviceman was polite, professional, neat and responsive. He explained what he was going to do and completely cleaned up after himself. Total time was 4 hours. This was the first time I used Ireland. Glad to have found a service company we can rely on and use again.

They’re very knowledgeable, personable guys. I think prices are a little expensive, but that could just be my perception and not necessarily reality. I’ve never had any issues with their work or professionalism. They’ve really met my expectations every time.
Description of Work: They came out two years ago to basically reattach some duct work that had been set-up poorly; we had just purchased our home around that time. We had them back out this past summer for minor air conditioning repairs.

Overall, I think they did a fine job. Their employees were very careful, clean, and tidy. When I suggested some changes, they listened to me and made the changes without any additional charge. Their price was very competitive. There was only one minor hitch; the technician left a screw out and had to return at a later time to fix that.
Description of Work: We had them install a Munchkin condensing boiler, which is half the size of our previous furnace. Our home is 2500sq feet and has radiant heating.

This is a wonderful company. They are very responsive to my calls for help. Their employees are thorough, and they do a great job with being detail oriented. The unit was expensive, and its performance has been abysmal. I gave the owner the opportunity to do the right thing, and he didn’t. I feel like the company used our residence to experiment with a new system, and I wouldn’t recommend them.
Description of Work: They installed a Beta air conditioning unit, and it turned out to be a complete lemon. The system breaks every year, and we’ve slowly replaced its parts over time.

Response from Ireland Heating & Air Conditioning Company
We installed a new air conditioner in June 2007. Following installation, we returned on multiple occasions upon receiving calls of poor cooling. We topped off the charge on the condenser and made vent adjustments to better balance his system at no additional charge. It was explained to Mr. Seay, an engineer, that inadequate ductwork was found to be the cause of poor system performance and our call backs. The homeowner did not make recommended adjustments to their duct system and are continuing to have problems. These problems will persist until the ductwork system is corrected. No parts failures to date have occurred on the equipment to the best of our knowledge. In March of 2006 we were called out to meet with the Seay’s to discuss options for a new a/c unit since their existing unit had been failing them every other year and was getting old. When they were ready to move forward with installation of the a/c unit in early June, we had recommended a new product that Carrier had on the market that uses two stages of cooling which we felt would help with past cooling issues. The new unit was installed in early June 2006. 15 days after the installation of the new A/C system, the homeowner contacted us stating the A/C was not working properly. Our service tech found that there was a plugged air filter restricting airflow. Additionally, 1 pound of refrigerant was added to balance the charges on the system. There was no charge for this call to the homeowner. Almost one year after the unit was installed, the Seay’s reported additional problems related to a frozen condenser and poor cooling . We returned to make additional adjustments and found the outdoor condenser to be plugged and dirty. Routine cleaning and maintenance on the system was performed. Additionally, all first floor vents were closed which we opened to improve air flow and circulation. A leaky basement return vent was also sealed up. Because this was not a system failure of the equipment or poor craftsmanship in our installation, the call was billable which was paid in a timely fashion. In addition to performing maintenance, we brought a factory tech support engineer out to meet with us and the homeowner to address the poor performance claims. We opened up end caps on the duct work and found them to be very dirty, which reduced the effectiveness of the system. Accumulating dust and dirt is natural for old duct systems that aren’t professionally cleaned every 10-15 years. We proceeded to remove the air filter and all return air vent covers to maximize return air. We saw right away an improvement in results with respect to airflow. Additional balancing of the vents throughout the home was performed as well. Again, this was all at no additional charge. Our findings showed the existing duct system was not sized appropriately to handle the air volume needed for ideal air conditioning conditions in the home. Without proper airflow, comfort is compromised and additional wear and tear on equipment results. Mr Seay, an engineer himself, was made aware of and understood these facts. Despite the condition of the existing ductwork, changes were not made. Carrier is a premier brand and does a lot to ensure it is releasing quality products. With the additional investment in product design comes higher prices. The homeowner paid a very fair price for the equipment that was installed. Our installation techs are factory certified and we are a fully licensed and insured company and are a Factory Authorized Dealer. We are not the least expensive contractor out there, as our other reviews indicate, but we do honest and quality work and provide customized customer service. While the homeowner did spend money on quality equipment, which they received, they were experiencing lower performance due to an inadequately sized duct system. There were multiple efforts made by our company at no additional cost to the homeowner to tweak/balance the entire system to put them in the best possible position. We educated the homeowner on the circumstances we were up against with respect to existing duct conditions which they choose not to address. I would recommend to the homeowner to check with their current HVAC service provider and find out why warranty wasn't processed on any of the parts they have had to replace if they in fact have done so. When a home has poor ductwork, which is unfortunately all too common, especially when the systems were not designed with air conditioning in mind, you are up against unfavorable outcomes which you will need to compensate for regardless of the brand or quality of equipment installation. Without ductwork changes, we are restricted on comfort expectations in this home. I understand these circumstances are very frustrating to a homeowner. We will continue to educate our clients.

Description of Work: I highly recommend Ireland Heating & Air Conditioning for their professional service and dedication. Though my initial call seems to have gotten lost, I called back in the afternoon (first call was late the night before), and was basically told, too bad, the day is almost over and if you aren't home you're out of luck. Luckily, Bryan saved the day. We was here ASAP, found the issue - I believe it was the roller that forces the cool air through the ducts, which had failed from fatigue. New parts were not available, but he had someone bring temporary parts. The temporary fix was installed quickly, and he was out the door by 5:15. Thank you very much for the great service!
