Tom was amazing! I called to have locks re-keyed and he came out the same day. We had 7 locks re-keyed including buying a new Kwikset knob and a new Kwikset deadbolt on a door that didn't have one. He was dealing with some original 1950's locks and I know it wasn't easy by any means. Another locksmith had tried to up-charge me on a lot of what Tom did. I found the great review for Tom's company and decided to give him a try. He was great at explaining along the way, and he worked really hard to do a great job. I would definitely recommend him to anyone for re-keying, lock-out service, or anything else lock-related. He is very friendly and honest. You can't go wrong!

iSimply put, Tom is fantastic. When the carpenter we hired could not finish all the work he estimated he could during the day he was contracted, we needed someone who could replace/install locks on two exterior doors on short notice. When we called Tom to inquire about his services and availability, he was courteous and completely transparent with his estimate. He also was able to help us out within 24 hours. When Tom arrived, we reviewed the work to be done, and Tom counseled us against installing deadbolt latches on our sliding glass patio doors, which saved us money. Also, when I realized I did not have a door knob I wanted Tom to install (I mistakenly bought only 3 knobs for 4 doors), he supplied us a matching knob at a great price and rekeyed it to our other knobs. Moreover, Tom's work is superior and he thoroughly tested each lock installation to ensure everything worked smoothly. He also showed us how to use the double cylinder capability on our high security thumb-turn locks, so that we could secure them from the inside (requiring a key) when we're not home. Before leaving, Tom made sure that I had the opportunity to inspect and try all the replaced/installed locks and that he had answered all my questions. Five star / A+ service. Thanks Tom. We definitely know who to call if we find ourselves needing a locksmith!

Tom was wonderful! I would highly recommended him to others. He responded within 5 minutes of my email and came out to my house the next day (it was not an emergency, so we scheduled it that way). He quickly diagnosed the issue - showing me what was wrong with the lock and providing some alternatives. I decided to trade out the hardware which required me to go purchase the new set - where he came back later in the day to install it. Very good service and very reasonable price - thanks Tom!

Tom came out quickly when I called on a Sunday no less, and very efficiently re-keyed my locks and made me extra keys. He is quick, professional, and a very nice gentleman. I asked him about my door jambs as my house had been burglarized and he told me about steel jambs. I ordered a couple and as soon as they came he came out immediately and installed them for me. He did a wonderful job and I would recommend him to anyone who needs a great locksmith!

I sent a message on Angie's List needing a door lock repaired and he promptly replied asking me to call him so he could get more details. As I described my broken door lock situation, he advised me to look up the part on the internet as it would cost more to have him do it. He gave me the website and everything! I was able to find the correct part online and was able to have a friend install it. So while I never actually used this service, I will definitely keep him in mind as he saved us some money by offering the free advice.

The Angie's List Text2Me setup (though confirmed via text message from Angie's List) did not work. I texted Tom directly at 10pm the night before I was hoping for service. Tom was very friendly on the phone and was able to accommodate my time frame for service. He arrived promptly at the arranged time and quickly went to work. He installed a new locking door knob, changed out 4 deadbolts, repaired an interior lock that didn't catch and re-keyed 2 locks. He added longer screws to many of the jambs for added security. He also did some minor repairs to the door hasps, hinges etc. to assure the doors closed and locked with ease. He also re-programmed my 2 remotes and keypad for my garage at no extra cost! Tom checked all the keys to make sure locks were working properly with each key (he gave me 6). As Tom was about to leave, he double checked his work and decided he wasn't 100% happy with one of the locks and then beefed that one up! Perfection! Tom is competent, reliable, friendly and courteous...highly recommend him and plan on using his services again when needed. Also received the Angie's List discount. Thanks Tom!

My first review on Angie's List and found Custom Lock and Safe through the site based on ratings and comments. We just moved into our house and needed to re-key all the locks and improve an older french door off the family room that wasn't shutting properly and needed a deadbolt. Tom arrived 15 minutes early and immediately got to work after a quick walk through and discussion on what we were looking for. He was completely professional and understood exactly what we wanted. He even went above and beyond and fixed a deadbolt on the garage door that was installed upside down by the previous owner. He was also able to pick a knob lock that we were never given a key for and keyed it with the rest of the house. Finished it off by helping me re-program the garage door keypad (gave me a 9 volt b/c mine were still packed) and recommended/showed me how to re-associate the garage remotes with the opener to ensure that ours were the only ones that worked and in case there was a third floating around that didn't get handed over. I felt totally comfortable trusting my family's security to Tom and would use him again in a heartbeat. This is my first house and though I wasn't sure what it would cost, was very pleased with the end result and felt his prices were extremely fair...plus he threw in a bunch of stuff for free. Not a huge deal but he also has a nice clean truck, which I personally think is always a good sign and appreciate. He'll have my business and recommendation going forward.
