I called mid morning and Tom was here by 2 PM. I was expecting to wait a few days at least. I did not use the coupon, but seem to have gotten a very fair deal on 7 locks and some hardware replacements. Quick and curteous service.

Tom is the owner and sole worker. He called after our closing and arrived timely the next day. I very high quality standup guy who delivers great service at a great price. All other locksmiths have high overhead thus charging a ton to the end customer. Tom run his own shop, thus the client wins. I would recommend to all on the Northshore.

Tom was great. I initially paid for a rekey. Afterwards, I realized that it was best that I go and buy new locks. I called Tom to inform him and he was flexible about the change. He installed my locks which was a good thing because the people who had originally done them made holes too big, etc so Tom worked his magic, found a few things to work and got the lock to securely fit into the door. He verified his work through the process. Afterwards Tom showed me about changing my garage door code which has come in handy a few times now. All in all, Tom did his job well ... but I feel he also went over and beyond in his service.

Installation went perfect. He contacted me beforehand to verify what I needed and schedule the on-site visit. Once on-site, he was very direct, got the work done very quickly, and when completed made sure I was happy with the results. He even made the exact number of duplicate keys I had requested.

My family and I recently moved to a new home. It was time to change the locks. Before the appointment, Tom informed me of what locks to buy from Home Depot. This saved costs immediately versus what he would have to charge if he sold me the new locks. He worked on 4 doors in my home, keyed them all to a single key, and made me extra keys all while at my home. He also helped with installing a brand new key pad garage door opener with my existing door. It was worth it to have this professional service done at my new home. I would definitely recommend Tom to anyone.

Tom was great. He was able to come a bit earlier than we had scheduled and so he called in advance to let me know he could come sooner if I were available. Once he arrived, he listened to what I needed and then advised me on the best way to proceed and also mentioned a couple of other simple repairs I could do myself to other doors to improve the safety. His charge was very reasonable and he was a very personable guy to have working around the house. This was an example of excellent service, and I will definitely call him anytime I need a locksmith.

Tom at Custom Lock & Safe was just as excellent as all the reviews say. We closed on a new house and I was nervous that days had passed before I focused on changing the locks. He was able to accommodate me the same day I called (ironically within 30 min since he was nearby). He showed up on-time. He re-key'd 5 doors (locks + deadbolts). He also lubricated all the door mechanisms. One of the locks had broken pieces inside (which he showed me), and rather than try to up-sell me on a brand new lock, he instead said he could take internal pieces out of another lock he had to replace the pieces at lower cost. His honesty was greatly appreciated. In addition, he offered and helped reprogram my garage door openers, as well as made overall home security suggestions. His costs were very competitive, and I wish all contractors were as friendly & honest. Thanks Tom!!!!

Tom was terrific.He was a few minutes early. I explained what I wanted and he made some very good suggestions based on the existing security of my new home. He cleaned up after his work. I would most definitely recommend him to others!

We just closed on a new house a few days earlier. I called Tom in the morning and he answered phone and asked if we needed service that same morning or another time. He met me at the house the same afternoon during lunch and was in and out in less than an hour. Tom re-keyed three doors, each with a dead bolt so was about to change 6 locks quickly and provided 6 new keys. He also picked a lock for a sliding door that we did not get a key for at closing. Tom was very professional and would highly recommend for any future projects.

The gentleman came on time installed a deadbolt for me. I lost a screw that came with the deadbolt but it was not a problem for him and he was able to install the deadbolt quickly. He also fixed a problem with another lock with charging me extra. The installation was quick and done beautifully.

Service was great! He responded immediately to the our activation of the Deal of the Week and promptly scheduled an appointment--wish all Deal of the Week companies were so responsive. We bought deal to rekey three locks. Turns out our 100-year old lock required more work than a simple rekeying and the cylinder in the deadbolt needed a complete replacement because it was one of those DIY key models from Schlage that break after a few years and can't be rekeyed. At no additional charge, he fixed all three locks and did it quickly. He explained the differences among our locks and was very thorough in his work. Top notch service. He will be our locksmith in the future without question!

He was professional and on time, actually early and had to wait for me. Wasn't able to get a review in earlier because i have been busy with my move. My lock was actually working better after he did the change than before.
