They did EXCELLENCE JOB!!!!

Fence construction went well. Good quality. HOWEVER, they left my backyard in complete ruin. I realize that there would be some mess at the fence line due to the recent rain, but the workers seemed to go out of their way, criss-crossing my newly seeded yard.. There was no reason for the COMPLETE ruin of my back yard. When I called the salesman to complain, he all but told me that it was my problem andI should have expected a mess.

poor installation overall not able to communicate with installers due to inability to speak or understand english poor customer service lifetime warrenty not vaild due to company closing and reopening under a new name the old name was American Fence and Deck same location same vehicles I work at the buisness right across the street and witnessed the sign being blacked out and company vehicles with both names entering and leaving the property some of the posts have heaved out of the ground and several of the panels have slipped out of place over time when I was expressly promised that this would not occur they had to come back several times to redo work due to the poor installation and even then it wasnt right gates didnt close properly after the first year my husband died suddenly about a year after the installation and I gave up trying to get anywhere The appearance has worsened progressivly despite my attempts to make repairs on my own of the fencing companies ive contacted no one will make repairs to a fence they was not purchased from them The one company I did find was a handyman company that wanted $500 per post for repairs & $250 per panel Thats just crazy I am considering selling soon & will probably sell the fence on Craigs list to improve the appearance of the yard prior to putting it on the market Just did a little poking around on the web n went to AB website BBB logo on home page when you check them out on BBB there are multiple complaints, 25 I think, and they are NOT BBB certified Same people, same work, same customer service STAY AWAY FROM AMERICAS BACKYARD fencing company

Fence looks good and install went reasonably well but installers barely spoke english and my bi-lingual wife had to come home on her lunch break and was able to communicate. However, shortly afterwards we began to experience odd electrical problems in the house and eventually lost power to about 2/3rds of the house. After chasing down any potential causes within the home with an electrician, we called ComEd and they found the source to be the underground power cable damaged during fencepost installation (despite JULIE marking the line). ComEd dug a hole in our backyard for access and spliced the line but a new cable needs to be installed as this fix is temporary. For over the past two weeks we've tried in vain to reach AB and they won't return our calls. We need them to open up part of the fence and work with ComEd to either pay for or dig a trench for the new cable. To be continued... 5/6/2013 update: America's Backyard and ComEd are working together to resolve the situation. AB is being cooperative, good chance they didn't cause damage.

Jim Keefe and his team were very professional....This is our second experience with this company and we highly recommend their service.

The guy who came out (Chris) seemed alright, but I wasn't sure about some of the company's installation practices. Chris told me they dry pack the posts with concrete, but after some research I don't think that is the best way to do it. He also told me that they pre-build their fence panels. Again, I think that helps AB put up fences very quickly, but doesn't necessarilly help the quality of the fence. He told me the fence would be installed in one day, but the other companies required 2-3 days. Chris also seemed disappointed that he was the first one to give me an estimate as he wanted to be able to beat competitors pricing. I eventually obtained three estimates and his was the highest. The biggest problem I had was the number of calls I received from Chris after our meeting. I ended up going in another direction and instead of cedar I chose an aluminum wrought iron style fence installed by a different company I felt much more comfortable working with.

Salesman sold us on material (white cedar). So far so good being two months out with our new fence. Their crew arrived on time and worked quickly. One concern we have was that other places stick build the fence (each panel is put together individually on-site) whereas America's Backyard doesn't (some of the panels barely make it to the posts). Just one thing to consider as you get quotes from other places. Overall the fence looks great and we have received TONS of compliments. Thank you! UPDATE 5.02.11 Currently waiting feedback in regards to the stain on the fence peeling after two months of it being installed. AB has told us this is under warranty and now we are awaiting them either refunding us the portion of the stain or re-staining the fence. We will keep you posted as this is VERY important to a company as it show's good or bad customer service. I have changed two fields to N/A as I am waiting to hear back from AB before I re-grade this company's performance. 5/16/11 update. After numerous messages that went unanswered we have filed a claim with the BBB. We will keep you posted as we would like this resolved asap. 12.16.12 update. The company came out in May and power washed and restained the fence. The stain is holding up well. Thank you America's Backyard for following through with this we appreciate it. BBB case has been since closed as this issue was resolved.

Very well. The salesman/estimator Kris was very knowledgeable and friendly. He appeared trustworthy and we decided to proceed with an installation. The crew was also quite professional, and the team lead knew his stuff. We had a complex sprinkler system to avoid, and they manually dug the posts in that area to ensure nothing was ruined. I would hire them again and highly recommend them to others.
