About us

In 1964, Huemann Water Conditioning began as a family owned and operated business and since then has prospered by building strong customer relationships. We currently have 22 employees, where 12 of them are certified through the Water Quality Association (wqa.org). All work performed is through our employees where no subcontractors are used. We have employees who are certified and licensed plumbers in the states of Illinois and Wisconsin. The 1st Saturday of each month we offer a salt sale where the customer picks up salt at our office. We service all equipment we sell and have the ability to service other equipment. Additional e-mail: webmail@huemannwater.com.

Description of Work: Huemann's replaced a rusted water heater, dead water softener and old brine tank. They had to pull them out of a tight utility closet and fit everything back in, no small feat, but they did it beautifully. Very professional. Just had the unit repainted and they didn't hit a single wall, despite the amount of equipment they had to move in and out. We'll never use anyone else.

Description of Work: Water softener..... Flooded finished basement and offered $200 off.... Wife cleaned it up all day dried carpet for a week. I could have done it myself but didn't want to risk a mess, I guess I learned..... Oh, and the softener, water condition is worse now than it was. Then was told they could install a $1000 dollar rust remover. Really....... I wouldn't recommend them.....

Our company installed the owner's laundry sink two years ago. When we were finished and turned the water on, there was a leak in the ceiling, not from our work, but an open pipe that someone had covered up. Yes, there was a leak. We responded the same day and we did help clean up the water. We responded to the customer's concerns and gave a $200 credit as the customer asked for. Once we gave the $200 credit, the customer asked for a larger credit, which we declined. I would be happy to discuss this situation. Joe Huemann 815-385-3093

Description of Work: I called to order a delivery of salt and rust-out powder, and was transferred to the voice mail of the man in charge of delivering in our area. Jeff promptly returned the call, and we set up a two hour delivery window for the next day. Jeff came within the specified time, brought exactly the products I had ordered, and carried the 16 large salt bags (two at a time) down to the basement at the far end of the room. He was courteous, professional, and saved me the painstaking task of carrying one bag at a time down to the water softener. We have used these folks before, and they have been a A rating in my book ever since.

Called for someone to come out and give us an estimate on replacing our water softener. Huemann came out that day (Monday), did a water test, gave their recommendation and provided pricing options. We really liked their professionalism, company history and pricing. The pricing was right in the middle and their product is well known. Installation was done on that Friday, day after a major holiday. The installation was great and looks very clean.
Description of Work: Removal of non-working water softener system, installation of new water softener system and installation of whole house filter before water softener.

Technician Carl Swanson did a wonderful job installing the new motor and also took the time to check the backyard pipe which he added to so that the water would be diverted further from the house. Also previously when this company installed a new water softener in my home he was the one that found out the reason it wasn't working properly( something that the village inspector didn't pick up on). It was repaired ( a ceiling pipe was not connected properly). It was fixed and no problems since.
Description of Work: Replaced sump pump motor.

After having two companies come out to our home to figure out why we have a sulfur smell in our well, we called Huemann based on our plumbers recommendation. I am so glad we did! The two "fly by night" companies we originally called tried to sell us on $4,000+ filtration systems. Chris came out and tested our water for free and then told us that we have a bacterial problem in our water lines but that our water quality was excellent for being on a well. He offered to chlorinate our well and he gave me instructions on how to do it myself if I wanted! What an honest company! Thank you and I will be sure to recommend you to anyone looking for water softeners or filtration systems. They really know their stuff.
Description of Work: Chlorinated our well instead of trying to take us for $4,000 like two other companies did for elaborate filtration systems to remove a sulfur smell.

Everything was completed exactly as advertised. Owner, Joe Huemann came out the same day we called and explained the options thoroughly. Installers Steve and Joe arrrived on time and completed the work in a professional manner. They cleaned up the work area and explained the installation to us.
Description of Work: Installed Kinetico water softener. Repiped two outside faucets to deliver only unsoftened water to the outside.

The delivery men are very professional and polite. It's amazing how they are able to carry those heavy bags of salt down into the basement especially since there is only one man doing the work.
