The tech arrived on time, did the inspection and made excellent recommendations, was pleasant, professional, experienced and tidy in his work cleaning up as he went along. I requested he replace seven shut off valves for the sinks and toilets which was not easy in a home some 45 years old with original fittings. The original request was for coupon offering to repair one toilet and a complete plumbing inspection bunt, to my delight he provided acceptable quotes for the work and was able to complete the tasks right away, meaning I did not have to make a another appointment, a definite plus. All in all, I was delighted with the work and the company. I was my first experience with Angie's List and was excellent. I have two more appointment with vendors from Angie and look forward to the same positive experience

We first used ARS when our air conditioner went out two summers ago. We have a home warranty policy that we used and through the luck of the draw, ARS came out. The gentleman who first came out was professional and punctual. He said our warranty would not cover the work because the unit hadn't been properly maintained. We had just bought our house, so I wasn't sure as to what maintenance had been done. He then alluded to the fact that if we were to sign up for their service program he could proceed with the work and it would be covered. We ended up siging up for their yearly maintence program. They came out as scheduled to do yearly maintenance on our A/C unit and furnace. Each time they would try to sell us things that weren't necessary, but other than that, we were pleased. January of 2014 the pressure switch on our furnace went out on a Friday evening. We contacted our home warranty service and requested ARS. We then contacted ARS and were told that they have 24 to 48 hours to provide service based on their contract with the warranty company. We explained that it was supposed to get down to 5 dregrees that night and we have small children in the house and needed someone that night. ARS does do after hours service calls. However because we were going through the warranty company, they said they would not. We then requested for them to come out and we would would cover the cost. Their response was because we had a home warranty policy they could not help us, even though we had decided not to use the home warranty. Rita, a supervisor in their Houston office was the person dealing with us. She was not only unhelpful, but condescending to my husband. We were unhappy with the situation, but by no means was my husband being rude or disrespectful.

The company was great and the contractor Manny was great as well.

Provide was punctual and professional upon arrival, did the cleanup job fairly good. After the tune up was completed he reported back an issues with furnace upper limit value is bad and he surprised the furnace is working, he took the limit value out and banged it on the floor ( denting it further) an putting it back with an written estimate of $179 to change a $20 limit value. He stated the furnace/heat will not work if we don't replace it. thanked him and let him go as the furnace was working before he came. An hour after he left noticed house the house was cooling and there was no hot air coming out. Didn't call him back called a local guy to check as I was not satisfied with his (ARS) initial response and the local guy found out the gas valve was shut and the upper limit value was fines and it will show an error if the furnace get dirty from inside and need cleaning. Called ARS to complain and they never got back to me, deep disappointed with their service, being a national company expected honesty and professionalism from them.

I just needed to replace the furnace humidifier pad but the technician wanted to replace the whole system for twice the price of the original installation. Then he claimed the problem was a solenoid that needed to be replaced for only $100 more than the cost of the humidifier including installation. He wouldn't stop trying to up sell. The he said the ARS coupon purchased on Angie's List would not apply to the service call. Fortunately, I was able to contact ARS and they applied the discount. It was too much of a hassle to deal with this company. I'm not likely to ever use their services in the future.

We had trouble with the furnace heating to the temperature set on the thermostat and called ARS on 11/18/13 and a technician came out then and told us the furnace was overheating and the problem was air flow and that we had to have the ducts cleaned. He did find cat hair in the one air intake vent and I cleaned that out. He also said the filter was dirty and we replaced that later the same day. The technician replaced the flame probe and the ignitor which he said were going bad and charged us $461.27. He told us the problem was still the air flow and that was due to the way the furnace had been installed and that we needed to have the ducts cleaned or clean out the ducts with a vacuum cleaner. Invoice 8378-673805. We had a free cleaning and diagnostic already scheduled for two days later, 11/20/13, and a different technician came for that, cleaned the furnace and told me everything was okay. I asked him about the service call 2 days prior when the other technician told us the furnace was overheating, so he checked that and then found that the furnace was overheating and that we needed to have duct cleaning, the furnace coil needed to be replaced, and the limit switch needed to be replaced. He quoted $599 for the duct cleaning, $334.93 for replacing the limit switch and $1876.90 for installing a new coil - minus a ten percent discount as we had paid for the customer service bundle. I told him I had to talk to my husband before spending more on this furnace and told him I would call if we wanted to have that done, at which time he reminded me there would be another charge for a service call and diagnostic fee plus whatever he did if he came out again. Invoice 8378-689258 and Recommended Addendum #689258. In frustration I joined Angie's List and called RJS Heating and Cooling. Jim came out from there and found that there was a wire unplugged that was causing the motor to overheat. The furnace is working fine now. I won't be calling ARS again.

So far all I have to say is that these guys are unbelievable. I scheduled a service online (2 day in advance). They called me the next day to confirm and find out more about what should be done. The day off I called to find out "about" time they will be here since they gave me 4hr window. The customer service didn't know but they took my # and said they will call when the service guy is on his way - they did. Service person was very thorough in explaining options and providing answers to any questions. I had few follow up questions and had to call customer service and they either took my message or had someone return my call shortly. Maybe my experience with plumbing companies so far was not the best but it was never at this level. I am still making my decision on what to do but the experience so far is really great.

This was a big job. Mr. Scott White was very professional, prompt, kind and helpful. He took time to make sure that he understood what my needs were and made many suggestions as to how we could accomplish the work in a cost effective manner. Mr. Scott completed the job in two days and made sure all was in good working order before he left the work site. He left everything clean and tidy and removed all debris, piping and old equipment from my house. I cannot say how pleased I am at the work that was done and at the neat and perfect manner in which the job was finished. I now have clean water coming into my house which I have been dreaming of for a number of years now. I most strongly recommend Mr. Scott and his company to anyone who is thinking of having such a major project undertaken.

It went pretty well. They had to do a lot of work. They didn’t even charge the $49 so they would come back again and then do everything. The guy was pretty good. He gave me information about the price and what to do.

Upon scheduling furnace tune up, technician did found issues with Flame sensor. Part#52W29 -- FLAME SENSOR for model G60UHV-600-135-07 Lenox furnace cost $15.25. Service technician quoted me install price for this would be $188.95 (with their home service plan) it takes them less then 15 min to install the plan. Labor charges are outrageous from this company they are ripping customer off for no reason.

They did a fine job. The sales team was good and the installation team was good. I am very satisfied with them.

The experience was not very good. I was having problems with plumbing in my bathrooms. I called them, and the first time, the person who was supposed to come out did not show up. Then I called again, and the second person said he was backed up and couldn't do it, and they said they would send another person. Then I got a call on Friday morning, and the lady said that they don't service this area. All this time, my water was running. I then told her that I would call Angie's List and tell them that this needs to be specified on the advertisement, and so she changed her whole tone, and told me that they would be here between 9 and 12 today. It is going to 12 now, and I get a call again, and the lady said that she doesn't understand why I was told that, because they don't service this area. I was in a frenzy, and she said that they would do it, but it would be some time in the afternoon. The guy did come out, and he did do whatever he had to fix my toilet. The 475 Dollars that I was charged was too much to do the job. I had to pay 50 Dollars to the guy who came out second. I am already not feeling well, and this made my blood pressure go up. The toilet is still not working that well, and it doesn't flush all the way. I am just tired of it now.

ARS contacted me in a timely manner, and came the next day to review what problems I had, and provide an estimate. They reviewed items beyond my original problem areas, and provided an estimate for them also. Originally I called for a drip under the kitchen sink, and the shower hot/cold faucet was reversed and dripping, and to install a whole house water filter. I have very hard well water, and this caused the pipe under the kitchen sink to corrode, which ARS replaced with PVC pipe, and should last much longer. They also replaced the drain in the kitchen sink, which was corroded. The shower faucet hot/cold reversal was due to the diverter inside the wall, and an incorrect brand of faucet used by the last plumber. I had expected to need to tear into the shower wall to remedy this situation, but ARS handled it all through the faucet and shower handle, thank goodness. The shower head, handle, and tub spout were all replaced. He also noticed how corroded the tub drain was, and investigated to find that the drain pipe below the tub was corroded. While I had not planned to repair that, I was glad he found it before there was a huge leak into the rooms below - so that pipe was replaced with pvc, and the drain replaced.. At my request, he also checked the washer inlet hose, because it could not be turned off. Again, the faucet was corroded, but I elected not to repair that at this time. The whole house filter was installed where I requested, with no problem - he even moved another pipe to accomodate it. It was all a bit more money than I had planned to spend, but it was well worth the cost. I was able to buy certain items, like the whole house filter, to lower the cost; other items, such as the shower diverter/handle he bought with his contractor discount.

I had no trouble scheduling a service call with ARS; they were very punctional and professional. Scott did an excellent job - my bathroom sink and shower no longer back-up. My only quam is the final price - a few hundred more than I expected to pay. But - to be fair - I was glad to finally have the problem solved, and I would use ARS again.

It went very well. Both repairmen were prompt, polite, and did a good job. They took their time and seemed to be thorough. and honest.

Their service was great. They were right on time. They were very personable and they did a good job for us. There were no additional charges. I would definitely recommend them. They did a very nice job for us. They were timely. The price was good. I would use them in the future.

It started out as a good experience - they told us to expect a service technician between 8am and 12pm, and we received a call at 7:45am telling us that the technician would arrive between 8:30am and 9:00am. When it was 9:30 and the technician hadn't arrived, we called, only to be told that the technician would not be coming, and that perhaps another technician could come in an hour. At 11, when still no on arrived, we called again, and were told that no technician was available but another would come in an hour. Meanwhile, they have offered only $10 off the service charge in compensation for us waiting. Would not recommend.

ARS was very responsive and the customer service was beyond what I expected for service. The person who originally took my request was very thorough and responsive to my dilemma. She made sure that she had all the pertinent information needed before submitting my request. I was given a 4 hour timeframe from when I placed my appointment. Less than 20 minutes later I received a call indicating that Sam D. would be arriving within 45 minutes. Sam arrived and provided all the information needed so that I could clearly understand the nature of the work. All the "whys and hows" were provided so I felt very comfortable with proceeding with the work. I also found out that previous work was not up to city code so now I can have the work redone when I finish my remodeling. Sam finished the work quickly and safely and did not leave a mess either. I am extremely happy with the work and service. The price was affordable because I used an Angie's list coupon that help save me a little bit on pricing. I will absolutely use ARS with future projects.

He was punctual. Came with all the tools he needed; a new seal and a plastic bag to put under toilet when he took it out. He gave me several estimates based on what he MIGHT find when he pulled the toilet. He shut off the water behind the toilet and emptied the toilet of water. He pulled the toilet, put it on the bag - no mess anywhere. He put the new seal in and replaced the toilet, screwed it down tight - but not too tight. Then cleaned up all debris, etc. Then put a clear seal around the bottom of the toilet. He also replaced the small hose that goes from the shut off valve to the toilet - for free. He came on time - gave me estimates - brought what he needed - did the work on his first and only visit in a professional and pleasant manner. No complaints!!

Our A/C broke down. We decided to get quotes. Went to our local Home Depot and asked if they do AC installations and if we could get a quote. We were promptly given a time window when the guy would come to give estimate. It was from ARS. So the guy was professional until he got home. He called us 15 mins prior to coming letting us know he was on the way. He got home and started casual chatting and trying to be friendly. So far I was ok. Then we got into the real business. He showed us the model they offered and gave an estimate.Then he went on to ask us if we were getting other quotes and we said we had already gotten them and he was the last person giving quotes. He asked us how much others had quoted.....this was the first sign of nonprofessional in my head......he could've easily asked if his price matched the competition, etc. After that he said he could call his manager to ask if they could give any other discount. But in order to do so, he said we would need to make a decision if we were buying the AC or not prior to calling his manager. If not, he did not want to waste his and his manager's time. Mind you, these were the words he used!!!! And we had specifically called them for quotes only! Of course we passed on the offer! He then spent the next 15-20 minutes trying to hard sell anything the company offered....water heaters, Furnace, etc. The hard selling got bad to the point where even if he sold the best product at the lowest price; they wouldnt get my business.

It is the next day and I still have not had my pipes fixed. UPDATE: They contacted me to correct the issues. They have agreed to provide a full refund for the services.

Well - very responsive. Made an appointment for a quote, had the furnace installed within the following week. We are moving soon, so we were pleased to be able to get this done so quickly. The price was a little bit higher than another place we looked into, but ARS is a part of the Home Depot network of service, so we get perks from using our Home Depot card to pay for this. Also, they left the area a bit messy but it's not a huge deal since we had a handyman doing work in the same area the next day. All in all, a good company to use.

He was really good. I was really glad about it because I felt like he could made up something and I wouldn't have known what was wrong with it. The ARS that was closest to me was not the one that advertised the $59 special and I asked if they would honor that and they discussed it and they said they would so I was also impressed with that. Overall I would call them again in a heart beat. The price was absolutely great, I'm actually impress. I would say the quality was great just because the air conditioner wasn't noisy and it's been working perfect since. They came right when they said they would, they were very courteous and didn't stay two second longer. I was very happy with the company, I think they did a good job. The guy was very friendly but not over doing it or being not nice, he was just right.
