Had the salesman come out to quote a new central AC unit as the furnace was only a couple of years old. Original quote was $9500 but he told me they were running a special and the cost would be $7500. I told him not a chance. He asked what I would be willing to pay if we set it up right now? I told him $4000. He said he had to call his manager. AMAZINGLY the manager said it was fine. I got it for less than half the original estimate, I should have kicked him out right then. I was given the option to finance it through a Home Depot credit card for 12 months at 0% interest, so of course I accepted. I had the unit installed and everything went flawlessly. A couple of weeks later I received the Home Depot card in the mail and set up the account only to find out that the 0% is only for 6 months, not 12 as told by the salesman. The entire operation seems to be run by an old school used car lot on the corner. I will never do business with them again nor recommend them. Just as shady as ABC if not worse.

I am very happy with the service and service technicians that helped me with this project. Everyone was very professional and cleaned up before they left.

They installed furnaces in 2022, since then there repair service is awful. And they are the ones who installed them

Regrettably, I let ARS replacing my HVAC system about two months ago. I chose ARC because: 1. Their salesman promised appropriate installation and great technical support after installation. 2. I read positive reviews online. With problematic installation nonexistent service after installation, I feel I was scammed into a contract and perhaps the reviews I read were fake. If you choose this company, be prepared for them to vanish after you pay. AND don’t be fooled by their “Quality Assurance Manager” because that’s also another shady position you will never hear back from. Never had service they completely blew me off and had a very nasty attitude when I followed up to find out why they didn't return the call for service. Covered under warranty.

Not professional and lying to everything

ARS is unreliable and has poor customer service! I’ve used them to tune-up my HVAC for three years, and the NEVER keep a first appointment. They usually cancel with less than 24-hour notice and try to reschedule me for halfway through the season. Even when I call months in advance they jerk me around. Then they have the temerity to be rude about why it keeps happening. Do NOT use this company for any of your HVAC needs! There are better, more professional services out there.

They did a good job. They were a little pricey but I would recommend them.

I originally scheduled the appointment on a whim at Home Depot, as I knew my furnace was having issues (weird sounds, etc.) The tech that came to my house was courteous, and did a full eval of our system. He discovered that both the blower motor and some other exhaust fan motor in the furnace were both dying, and recommended a replacement system. In addition he tuned up the air conditioner, which was newer than the furnace. They were able to replace the furnace a few days later at my convenience (it wasn't an emergency), and the new system has been working well.

The appointment was great! I had appointments with 2 other plumbing companies through my home warranty service. Both said, for sure, my ejector pump was bad and they quoted prices of $900 and $750 respectively. I then called ARS Rescue Rooter. Lenny came out and was both personable and professional. He had his protective gear in place (mask & booties). His first question was 'did you check the outlet'? Hmmm...the previous technicians (nor I) had checked. It turned out the pump was fine, but electrical circuit had been tripped. He flipped the circuit & stayed long enough to ensure it didn't trip again. He then cleared roots from my sump pump. He even managed to be patient with & charm my 5 year-old niece who wanted to chat with him! I can't say enough good things about the company and Lenny. I would definitely recommend ARS Rescue Rooter to others.

I had a garage heater installed and had our furnace inspected recently from ARS. After putting it out on Angie's list, they promptly reached out. Arnie, Gene, and Dan came out and were as professional as can be. After dealing with my endless questions they had it up and running in no time. They installed new gas lines, electrical, and vent piping. The entire install was super clean and neatly done. I can finally start my hobbies and work on my car comfortably in any temperature I desire. When our furnace was inspected, Jim found some serious problems. He had it on camera and took pictures of all the problems, including the giant cracks in the heat exchanger causing it to leak carbon monoxide. He advised us what to do and how to proceed with options. All 4 gentlemen went above and beyond, explaining what they're doing, and provided excellent service. I will definitely be using them in the future for our house needs.

The rep who came out was punctual and communicated professionally. We paid him $95 to diagnose an issue where our AC HVAC unit was cycling on and off repetitively and also to see if we should run a common wire between our Nest thermostat and our HVAC panel. The reason for the "C" under professionalism is because I believe part of professionalism includes being prepared for the job, being thorough, and being an expert in your trade. The rep never tested to see if we needed a common wire run. He also did not have all the right tools to perform the tests on the AC unit... he was able to test and confirm that the capacitor was blown but then he tested to see if our compressor was also blown by using a capacitor that he had on hand which was well below the rating of our current capacitor. I'm not an electrician but I've done enough simple capacitor replacements and resistance testing to know that you shouldn't test that way. From his resistance testing he seemed sort of unsure of what he was looking at... he teetered back and forth until--without performing further tests--he concluded compressor was blown as well. He said at that point we're looking at ~$3,000 for both a new capacitor and a new compressor so we might as well consider getting the entire unit replaced which would require a scheduled visit by a "comfort specialist" (which weren't available for the next 1.5 weeks). From reading other reviews, I'm glad we didn't go through with a comfort specialist because they seem like high-pressure salesmen. Also from reading other reviews (and from what the rep told us) we were looking at ~$4500-$5000 to get everything replaced (the rep also said they would replace our brand new, working Nest with another new one... sort of a red flag). After a 1.5 hour visit he left and we called 4 Seasons for a second opinion and they came out within 2 hours. That rep, while slightly abrasive in his communication style, was clearly an expert. After about 10 min of testing he basically said we had been lied to and that all we needed was a new capacitor. He called me over to show me the resistance test between his test capacitor (which was properly rated, btw) and the compressor and sure enough there was plenty of current. He popped in a new capacitor in 3 min for ~$500 and added 1 lb of Freon in 2 min for ~$80. We paid him and he was out in less than 20 min total. Much better than waiting potentially weeks and paying $5000.

Amazingly well. Jim was punctual, well versed/knowledged, fluent in the MEP elements of the system (electric, HVAC, etc), properly removed the old system and installed the new one seamlessly. Tested for leaks and gave a much needed crash course in our Nest thermostat system. No debris was left. Personality was great. Couldn’t be happier. While we don’t anticipate any future issues, should any arise, we would request Jim by name.

**Quick Summary: Great techs, but go in with a competing quote or prepare to be massively overcharged.** The tech was friendly, informative, knowledgeable, and very professional. He came in on time and everything appears to be in working order. I couldn't be happier with the work done. However, while I was quite happy with the tech, I'm leery of ARS on the whole due to the price. ARS *massively* overcharges for A/C installation. I was quoted at just under $4500 for a 2-ton unit, and I felt strong-armed into signing a contract right then and there by their "home comfort specialist". The only good thing I have to say about their price (and the only reason I didn't give them an F in the category) is that they are willing to price match. I was fortunate enough to find a competing quote that ARS matched, knocking $1255 off the price. It's nice that they do that, but the fact that they are that overpriced is concerning.

Thought I had a problem with the water heater thermostat. Came out the same day and found water tank was leaking. They rearranged other calls in the day so that Terry (who had a tank on his truck) could come to my house. A little over 2 hours later and I have hot water again. ARS is not the cheapest. But the customer service is great.

Scheduling service was fast and friendly. Considering it is already cold, ARS gave an appointment within a week....I was afraid it might be several weeks out since there was no emergency. Daniel, the technician showed up on time, put on shoe covers, smiled and said good morning, then go to work. He cleaned the furnace thoroughly while I was watching. Explained every step why he was doing. Did not try to sell anything. He recommended that I could leave the fan ON all the time since I had a 2 stage furnace which keeps the home warmer by recirculating the warmer air from upstairs. I thought it was smart. He wrote down all the readings gave me a copy. I gave him the coupon I had and gladly applied it to the invoice. His work was so good I asked him what he suggested for next year. Without any sales pressure he said I could get the next two service calls for a reasonable amount which I gladly purchased. All in all great guy and great service. A very pleasant experience. Ron M

Armondo, our comfort advisor, was very helpful and knowledgeable throughout the process. He worked hard to get us a great price and followed through with the rebates immediately after the installation. Eugene and Arnulfo, our instillation specialists worked non stop through the day to ensure a proper and clean installation. They were very professional, knowledgeable, and neat throughout the process. We were very impressed by the care and consideration.

The 4 man team was professional, knowledgeable, and even CHEERFUL. All work was explained in detail. Care was taken to protect our house. Most impressive was the speed at which they worked. This huge task was finished in a surprisingly short amount of time. Thanks!

We signed up for a $69 furnace cleaning offered though Home Depot and it was discovered we had cracks in our furnace which were thankfully discovered! Although this was the last thing we wanted or budgeted to purchase, Jake Parker (sales) came to our house and spent hours going through the home and discussing options and pricing. We had other "cheaper" options, but he wowed us with his knowledge and left us feeling comfortable that we were getting the best products and care for our needs. Immediately scheduled the install and two days later Rich and Brandon came for the service end. They were amazing and we couldn't be happier with the level of service we received. They were prompt, efficient, quick, clean, polite and thorough! Even did extra things to help out; such as, fixed the door handle that kept falling off on them coming and going and secured a pipe to the basement floor to avoid slipping. They were just down to earth, nice people who got the job done. Much appreciated! Great duo in Rich and Brandon and would highly recommend Jake as your sales rep to answer ALL questions! Request them and go with ARS/Rescue Rooter if you are in IL. It's a BIG purchase...make sure you get the best team like them behind you!
