Just had Matt replace an oven igniter.Matt was able to fit me into his schedule and arrived at the time he had told me he would. He was a very a professional person and knew exactly what was wrong. He made it a point to clean up afterwards and was very easy to talk to. No uncomfortableness there. I believe that his pricing was fair and I would recommend him to those with appliance problems.Thanks again Matt.

Great. Matt was very pleasant, quick, and explained what he thought was going on ... what he was going to do ... and confirmed the problem when he got into it ... all while I could watch and wait. Problem was solved and has remained resolved ... but he also gave me a warranty on his work. I'm looking forward to having them at our service again.

First, the price was more then 59.00, but was very fair. I just don't remember price of part. Anyway, this provider is GREAT! My wife normally makes me wait at home for the providers as she is uneasy letting people in our home, but said after taking to him on phone, she wasn't weirded out by him. (believe me, a big plus.) He came out right away and determined what the part was that needed to be fixed. He was up front saying, he thought it was this part but wouldn't know if there was another part that was broke until he put the first part in. The part came in quickly and came back out 2 days later and it turned out to be the first part so no further parts were needed. He was fast, honest and he didn't mind our little dog barking at him.

Mike arrive early but called first. He explained the problem and fixed it. He explained that I really did not need a new part although he would replace it, if I wanted. He was quick and very reasonable.

He was responsive to my calls, quick (and accurate) to diagnose, ordered the part and then installed it. it was great experience.

Matt was proffessional, prompt and honest. He actually did not fix the dishwasher, rather he suggested that for the price of fixing it might be better to purchase a new one and he gave me good direction on reasonably priced units that might be good for us. I will definitely use him again should the need arise.

Matt was an absolute delight to work with. He is extremely professional and loves what he does. His cheerful demeanor put as at ease. We had noticed water piling up in our dishwasher after using the kitchen sink. It was very easy to schedule the repair with Matt. He also calls ahead to make sure the problem requires him to come in. I thought it was refreshingly professional - most contractors tend to just come in and collect the trade call fee (this repair was through our home warranty). Matt determined that the dishwasher discharge pipe is not looped high enough and excess water from kitchen sink was making its way to dishwasher. He came up with a simple and robust fix to rectify the problem. He answered all of our questions very patiently.

Matt was very pleasant and professional on the phone and in person. He let me know upfront what he expected were the issues and what work needed to be done. He came on time and was clearly an expert in appliance repair. In addition, his pricing was very reasonable compared to other quotes that I received. I will use him again and would recomend him to others.

We were really impressed with Local Home Appliance. The owner (Matt) was very responsive and friendly on the phone. He arrived within the window of time he provided. He was very engaging from a social perspective which just reinforces one's confidence in another in general. He explained exactly how the oven works, what went wrong, what he was replacing (with a part he keeps in stock) and was able to answer general questions about the brand of oven. We will definitely call him in the future should we need assistance.

The man asked about my problem. When I explained the situation with my gas dryer, he knew exactly what was wrong and resolved over the phone. Saved me the cost of a service call. Saved his number so I known who to call in case of any future appliance problems.

Matt was very easy to talk with and came on time. He was able to easily diagnose the problem with my 10 year old Whirlpool gas dyer and for a total charge of parts and labor $105. He was able to answer for me whether the dryer was worth keeping versus buying a new high efficiency dryer and washer also. He said the machines were in very good shape and that they should last for an easy 5 years. He listens very well and answers with clear concise answers. He gives the impression [validated] that he is honest and trustworthy. He would be my first go to person for any large appliance repair in the future. He has cost Best Buy and Lowe's some real money! But saved me from any need to replace either appliance at this time. He came on time when promised.

Excellent. Matt was thorough, efficient, and reasonably priced. I was pleased with my encounter.

I contacted Matt about a leak in my washing machine. Before our appointment, I found that the leak had disappeared so I called Matt for advice. Matt advised me to wait to see if the leak reappeared because it was possible that the issue was not mechanical and there would be no need for repair. Matt cancelled the appointment for that day with no charge. Matt's advise saved me a service call fee. I will definitely contact Matt the next time I need appliance service.

Mat came to my house, and repaired the dishwaher door.

I called Matt at 8:00 AM and explained that our GE oven would not light, though the stove top units and broiler were still working. He indicated that the problem was probably going to be one that could be easily fixed. Because our location was nearby and fit easily into his route for the morning he could get to us quickly. He arrived on time and was very friendly, neat, and courteous. I mentioned we had found him on Angie's List and had seen he had a senior discount. Matt said it was more of an Angie's list discount, so be sure you ask about it. The problem with the oven, as he had expected, was the oven igniter and Matt was able to replace it quickly with a part he had on hand. He clearly knew the easiest way to do the job, compared to what I had seen on YouTube. Matt explained that our GE range was usually quite dependable but that igniters generally last about 8 years or so. Our stove was 9.25 years old and is used relatively heavily for meals and baking. I would have no hesitancy in recommending Local Home Appliance for anyone in our area.

Our washing machine motor failed late on a Wednesday night. (A rinse-and-spin cycle ended with a tub full of water and clothes, and a nasty electrical stink in the laundry room.) Thursday I contacted Matt Shumaker of Local Home Appliance--found him on Angie's List, chose his company because it was close, and had excellent reviews. Made an appointment with Matt for first thing Friday morning. Matt was easy to contact, arrived when promised, cobbled together a short term fix on the first visit, said he would check into a new motor, and give me an estimate. He called back first thing Monday morning...he had the needed motor in stock. Because it was a more expensive motor, he'd had it for a while. He sold us the motor for his cost, installed it for free. Service was professional, friendly, clean, and fast. Matt clearly explained the work he'd done. Local Home Appliance not only met, but exceeded my expectations, and I will certainly call Matt Shumaker for future appliance repair needs.

I used Matt through the Home Warranty company since we just purchased a house August 2012. Matt has repaired a refrigerator and also installed a new dishwasher. He arrived when he said he would, determined the issues almost immediately, and performed the repairs like it was second nature to him. He made everything look simple. His work is reliable and there were no issues with his work.

Matt arrived promptly at the time that he gave us. He answered all of our questions and did a thorough check of our microwave. He then researched the availability of the parts needed to repair our appliance and called us back when he said he would. His rates are very reasonable. The parts for our microwave were no longer available and so it could not be repaired but Matt gave us ideas of how to go about replacing our odd-sized appliance. We plan on using Local Home Appliance in the future to service our other appliances. We recommend him. Overall, great job.

Local Home Appliance pulled apart our dryer and found that the motor had broke. A new motor would cost over $300. Matt went home and experimented on a motor he had there to see if he could repair instead of replace the motor. There were a couple of pieces in the motor that had broke. Matt indicated that you could not just order the parts that had broke. He took the parts from a motor that he had and used them to repair our dryer motor. I was a little concerned about that because I did not want to pay for a repair and then a few weeks later pay for a new motor anyway. Local Home Appliance gave us a 90 day warranty on the repair so that if we needed to order a new motor anyway he would apply the cost of what we had paid for the repair to the new motor. So far, so good with the repair.

I called Local Home Appliance and left a message. Matt returned my call promptly and was very courteous. We scheduled an appointment and he was right on time. He diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes and had it fixed in another 10 minutes. We were very pleased with Matt's promptness, professionalism and knowledge. We will continue to use them for our appliance needs and highly recommend them.

The gentleman who answered the phone was polite, helpful, and informative. I described the problem with our washer and he asked some specific questions. He then told me what he believed the problem was. A visit was not needed. Super honest and up front. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I have used Local Home Appliance six times since 1994. The service has always been great. It is always interesting talking with him about his latest activities. He was into radio controlled helicopters originally. But now is into electric motor assisted bicycles. He can work and talk at the same time and will explain what he is doing and why. Also is willing to tell me how to maintain equipment myself. I do not have him on speed dial, but his phone number is always handy.

Quick to respond to my call, arrived promptly, did great work and is extremely pleasant to work with. Will definately call again.
