Matt came within a day, set up the service for time and was very punctual. He is very courteous and knows what to do and doesn't waste time. Matt knows about most repairs we have had him do other repairs over the years. We call him back because he provides great, dependable service and backs his repair work.

Matt did a fantastic job, as always. I have used him for the past 12 years. He has always been prompt, courteous and very reasonable. He has a knack for diagnosing even the most complicated problems. He always gives a thorough explanation of the problem, why it happened, how it can be fixed and at what cost, BEFORE he proceeds. I have referred all of my family members and friends to him. He is, by far, the most honest and knowledgeable appliance repair man I have ever used.

It was very smooth. First visit he diognose the problem. Then he ordered the parts and second visit, replace it and it works as he mentioned. I was lot less than my other estimate. I highly recommend his service.

Our Whirlpool dryer was not heating properly. Matt discovered the problem and replaced a dryer coil kit. The work was done expertly and efficiently, it was apparent that he was familiar with this type of repair. The work space was left spotless, and we have not had any issues with the dryer since the repair. We are very happy with Matt and Local Home Appliance.

Matt Shumaker at Local Home Appliance was sent to us through our home warranty company (HWA). Our washing machine was not draining. The tub would fill, then stop without going through any cycles. Matt Shumaker assessed the issue as being a faulty lid switch. He claimed he did not have the replacement part, so he BYPASSED the safety switch (in other words, gerry rigged it). He never ran the machine through any cycles. He demanded the $100.00 deductible payment and was gone in under 15 minutes. When we ran the machine later that evening, the water never stopped filling. In turn, the machine flooded our house and water filled our duct work and damaged the hardwood floor and electronics we had in the basement. Upon speaking with Matt Shumaker, he claimed his bypassing the safety switch could not cause the machine to overfill. He admitted he never tested the machine or ran a cycle because he "didn't have time for that," even though we paid him $100.00 for less than 15 minutes of work and NO replacement parts. We called the home warranty company, as they were the ones who sent him, but they insisted we had to resolve this ourselves, that they were not responsible. They did call him for his side of the story and he admitted he did not run the machine after gerry rigging it, but still insisted his work could not cause overfilling. How did Matt Shumaker from Local Home Appliance know for sure what he did to that machine? Is bypassing a safety switch the recommended manufacturer solution? Our washing machine wouldn't drain before. Now it won't stop filling. We attempted to make a claim with Matt Shumaker's insurance company. In the end he lied to them and said that he did run a cycle on the machine and that it worked fine before he left. Dirty Liar Matt Shumaker. We tried to get our home warranty company to disclose his RECORDED phone call where he said he DID NOT run a cycle, but HWA declined our request. Matt Shumaker at Local Home Appliance is a DIRTY LIAR.

Fixed the refrigerator control panel by soldering a piece on which saved us about $250.00. Have recommended to all my friends.

My dryer was running but not heating so I called Matt on a Monday and we made an appointment for him to come out the next day. He diagnosed the problem and had the part required to fix it. The entire service call took about 30-40 minutes.

Very well. He has had to do this maintenance before and informed me that due to the design he may have to perform it occasionaly due to a ice build up and subsequent condensation leaking onto the floor.

The guys name is Matt. He was excellent. He did the work quickly, and it works. He was nice, pleasant, and coordinated with me, and showed up when he said he was going to.

We needed our washing machine repaired ASAP. It was full of water and laundry and would not run. I called in the morning and Matt answered on the 2nd ring! He completed the repair in about 45 minutes. The microwave works fine We would not hesitate to recommend Matt for repair of most home appliances. We had just moved into our house and wanted to do laundry. My usually very handy husband could not get the gas dryer connected, even after 5 trips to hardware stores to get parts. I found Matt here on Angie's List, and called him. He is a very busy guy, but he squeezed me in on the same day, and told me to reassure my husband that installers often use parts that aren't easy to connect. He was pleasant and thorough, and answered questions about my other appliances as well with no extra charge. Matt is on my list of top-notch service providers, and I'll happily use him again if I need any appliance help or repairs.

Gave a call next day he spend 3 minutes on lid switch. Very honest . Gave me two suggestion one expensive and one not expensive in five minutes it was fixed. Will use him again.

After doing an extremely thorough job cleaning my oven and oven door, I found I was unable to get the door re-assembled and put back onto the wall oven. Matt, and Local Home Appliance to the rescue! I called this company, left a message regarding my concerns and within a half hour Matt Shumaker returned my call. He was able to come out the next morning and complete the repair. Matt was extremely professional, knowledgeable and communicative. I felt Local Home Appliance was the best solution for my problem at a reasonable rate. I would highly recommend this company. The gentleman who showed was prompt, friendly and courteous. After taking my dryer apart, he showed me it was one loose wire. He promptly fixed the wire and oiled the bearings. Put the whole thing back together and was finished in less than an hour.

I called Local Home Appliance about my oven display not working. I talked to Matt, he called supplier about availability of the part, called my back with the price and when he could repair the oven. We made the appointment, he came out on time, repaired the oven. Very personable, and efficient. The job was complete in less than an hour. Thanks again Matt. I called Matt late in the afternoon and left a message. I had barely hung up when Matt returned my call and we set a time for him to come out. Matt was right on time, took shoes off at the door, and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. He was very friendly and professional throughout the relatively short time at our house. They were very prompt and courteous. Had the stove fixed in a short time. The tech also gave my husband some advice on how to trouble shoot a problem we were having with the fridge. We will definetely use this company again.
