They were professional, courteous, and experienced.

Technicians were great and very professional. Showed up on time and were very clean. They left the house as clean as when they got there.

Service was performed on time and well. They weren't the cheapest service, but not the most expensive, either. The system has been working now for a year, and everything is fine.

Another service provider, hand equipment and cost more suited to our needs.

The owner is not responsive. We have tried to reach by phone and email. He has returned 1 of 7 phone calls. We had to take off work and it put my family in danger. They are not willing to give us anything we find agreeable for the sacrifices we had to make.

My 25 year old furnace began to fail over the cold spell so I decided to replace it rather than fix it. I got 5 estimates and selected Hoestra because of the price, warranty and Angie's list track record. They were the only contractor that performed heat load calculations in my house. They also helped me to understand the real costs and benefits of the high effeciency furnace technology. 1 day before the installation, my 20 year old water heater sprung a leak and Hoekstra moved fast to help me select a new one and make that part of the installation. Not once did I feel they were acting in a way in which they thought they had me "over a barrel". Prompt and professional installation. House, water and I are warm again.

We just moved into a house in October, and it came equipped with a very high end furnace that we knew nothing about. We noticed the documents suggested annual cleaning and servicing so we went ahead and called Hoekstra to make sure everything was running correctly, was clean, etc. Joe showed up on time and was pleasant and professional. He answered all my questions about the furnace and humidifier and showed me how everything worked. He could have tried to up-sell me on the filter as the one being replaced was very expensive, but he did not, and suggested that the standard filter was just fine unless a family member had severe allergies. We highly recommend Hoekstra.

The replacement was installed in a day's time. They operated efficiently. The unit is working beautifully. The thermostat was installed awkwardly. When I called the Downers Grove office they had a man out the next morning and he corrected the issue in very short order. We are very pleased with Hoekstra from the original salesman through the installation and the correct installation of the thermostat. We will probably use Hoekstra annually for the maintenance.

The technician ( Brian ) was on time and very courteous and went about his work and then explained everything to me. I have had a service plan with Hoekstra ever since they installed my furnace and AC Many years ago, Their techiicians have always been excellant and I would reccomend them to my neighbors and friends.

The very polite operator indicated that Hoekstra does not perform air duct cleaning and they do not recommend anyone doing air duct cleaning in their home because of the dust from the vent getting into the home and causing more problems. So please remove them from the air duct cleaning category search.

I did receive a prompt call back and a decent quote, and I thought that the price was fair. The technician was very nice however he needed to use my water hose and he left the gate open so it was just not a big deal. They little things I don't think, I don't think I have to wind upshould have point in my hoes if I'm paying. That technician tried to turn me off from that company.

I asked if the service rep could come around 3pm when my husband was home from work. Brian from Hoekstra called me within the hour and told me he would keep me posted as to his arrival time. He arrived about a half hour before my husband came home and started his service. He checked the thermostat, furnace and air conditioner. A wire was loose on the thermostat and Brian spent almost 2 hours giving our systems a thorough check. Our air is working as of right now but is quite old and we know its time for a replacement. Brian spent alot of time explaining the system, problems due to the age and what he recommended. We have scheduled an appointment with one of Hoekstra's engineers to give us a review and quote for a new furnace and air conditioning system. We would highly recommend Hoekstra and will most definately use them again.

Hoekstra provided excellent information concerning the types of equipment available and walked me through a series of questions that help me and them determine the best equipment for my space. The representative was very patient and explained quite a bit about the equipment that was selected. He also explained about the rebates that could be used towards the purchase of the equipment. I did like working with this company and definitely wanted to work with a company in Homewood. The only reason I did not is that the third company I selected was the original company that installed the previous furnace. The pricing between the two companies was very close for the equipment offered and both are located in Homewood. Hoekstra also beat out the third companies pricing on equipment that was superior in quality.

I am extremely pleased with the technician's diagnostic testing of the furnace. He (Larry) explained so much and taught us so much. He was here two hours. He also got our humidifier going again with a new filter. Other companies had us to turn it off. I am so thankful that we didn't need a new furnace after all like another company had said. My unit is only 8 years old. I would recommend Hoekstra for the honest and thorough evaluation of your furnace. My old company went out of business and I needed a new company. I tried one company that I cannot use again. I have found my new heating and air conditioning service and will look forward to using them again with great confidence! We were very pleased with every aspect of Hoekstra's service and the installation. The sales person first did an analysis of our home and our needs, and was very informative about all of the possible choices. I felt like his recommendations made a lot of sense, and he then made himself available for any further questions after we made the decision. The installers were very nice men who were very careful in our house and also very clean -- wore covers on their shoes and covered our foyer and basement stairway carpet -- and cleaned up very well after the removal and installation. We felt that we were well informed of the choices available and we are very happy with our choices -- our new furnace, humidifier and air cleaner are a huge improvement over what we had and seem to fit our house and our needs perfectly. Hoekstra also informed us of the rebates we were eligible for from Peoples Gas and supplied the necessary forms. We found Hoekstra through Costco, as they are Costco's approved Heating and Air Conditioning agent, and I believe that going through Costco saved us money. I would definitely call Hoekstra again for any heating and a/c needs.

Do ask for Jon when you call. He's very knowledgeable and courteous and most responsive to your concerns or questions. No high pressure sale pitches here!!

The estimator, Dave, arrived on time, was friendly and easy to talk to. He measured the living spaces in some detail and performed load calculations. He then proposed models and features that would meet my needs. This company seemed to be better organized than the three others that I had contacted and possibly larger. Nevertheless, Hoekstra's web site is basic and lacks information that I could obtain from the others' sites, for example, the manufacturer of the equipment used. The price was lowest of the four but I chose a different contractor since I preferred a different brand than Hoekstra's.

Called and they came out the same day and were on time. The young man even put some paper covers on his shoes which I appreciated.

Our air conditioner went out during the recent heat wave in Chicago. We called several vendors for quotes. Not only did Hoekstra have the best price but they gave us two options, a fix or replacement. They were the only ones to do that, which we really appreciated. They recommended a bigger unit and identified other issues that the other two vendors did not. The whole process from the telephone appointment, to the HVAC tech on site, to the engineer that gave us unit quotes, and to the installers was professional and timely

It hadn’t been checked for a while. Our overall experience was fine. They showed up on time and they answered all our questions. My parents had used them for years. They had a long-term relationship with them and kept using them. We would use them again in the future.
