It was fine. I was pleased with their service. They gave excellent service. I was disappointed in the door they delivered and they replaced it with no questions asked. It wasn't their fault, I just didn't like it. It was excellent service. I didn't get other prices.

In the end, it turned out fine. The first installation turned out that the door was cracked and nobody knew it. They made good on their claim and replaced the door in about a month. It is beautiful. They stand behind their work. Their craftsmanship and warranty were good. In the end we were pleased.

I got windows with the blinds in-between and in the bedrooms I had room-darkening shades put in-between the windows so they were like an upper scale window. I love their guarantee, basically. They have about a 10 year guarantee. I had to have some blinds replaced in the sliding glass door and they just sent them out to us. They are good quality windows and they have a nice warranty with them, too. They are very professional. They actually stained the sliding glass doors a different color than I wanted and they offered to come out to re-stain or they would just take so much money off, which is what we ended up doing. The windows are working out fantastic; I love them. It is an expensive window, but you get what you pay for. They have their own installers that work specifically for Pella.
Description of Work: They replaced all of my sliding glass doors and all 7 of my windows.

The interaction was okay. If we had to do it again, we would probably look around for a different window because the locking mechanisms weren't really that good. We would possibly use them again.

It went fairly well and they seem to be in fairly good shape. The amount of air seepage is maybe more than I would have expected. The seams in the windows, particularly the base, seem to accumulate dirt in the interior of the windows which surprised me. I would possibly use them again.

.On installation day, the installer put up the Entry door. He could not install the storm door which according to him was not the right size. Then the nightmare began. Subsequent call to our salesman was of no use. Beyond being sorry he said someone would get back to us to complete the job. I called the project manager, left 2 messages. No response. On 8/21/2014 , call came in stating correct door will be installed on 8/25/2014 at 8 am. No body showed up . I called again and spoke with another project manager who said they had the wrong door , that is why they did not show up, and they have to reorder a new door because of wrong specification taken initially. The new door will take 2 to 3 weeks to arrive. The manager also promised to get back with me after looking into my situation and work out a solution. That was the last I heard from this manager. Subsequent call and email went missing in action. On 8/27//2014, I received an e mail that the door will be installed on 9/16/2014. On 9/11/2014, I received a call that that the door will not be ready on 9/16 and the earliest they could come would be 9/22/2014. They finally came yesterday and installed the storm door. I would not recommend Pella based on my experience. There was no sense of urgency to get the job done or to take care of customer. No one even called to keep us informed
Description of Work: We contracted with Pella on 7/17/2014 to install Entry and Storm door . We paid $3460 up front for the installation scheduled for 8/19/2014. We went with Pella because of its name. In hindsight that was our mistake.

Pella was a little slow to respond but after that they are great. Be prepared to pay a 75 dollar service charge but they up front about it. My repairs will not be cheap but the repairs done were perfect. The installer even gave me a few hints to make my windows work better. The installer was professional, and knew his product well, I will definitely be following up to have my other work done.

Sales guy was great. Provided product information and measured everyting. Installation originally scheduled for June, actually a little later than the sales guy could have done. I got a phone call on Friday for a Monday install that the order was incomplete, 2 windows had not been manufactured. So, rescheduled for the begining of July. Install day, the crew arrived, only to find that 2 windows were missing from the truck. Many phone calls, by both the installer and myself, which initiated a search. The install crew had been changed with the rescheduling, so it was possible that the windows were in the wrong bin. I had to keep calling back to get any information. At one point, the installer said someone had called him to report the windows were found, which turned out not to be true. The weather improved from the torrential downpout, so I had them start installing the windows they did have. Well, the missing windows were never found, so a reorder was submitted, and I had the guys leave 2 windows (from a 3 set bay) in my garage, as I don't want a partial install in this area. Another install was scheduled for the beginning of August. I got a call a few days before the scheduled install (not 1 business day this time) to report that the 2 windows were still not in. Rescheduled for the middle of the month. Spoke with several people, nobody could seem to make the factory rush the order. Ve Got a routine call the morning before install to remind me about the install. That afternoon, got a call from a manager, 1 window missing. Rescheduled again for the end of the month. Did finally get my windows, only the office had to get a special delivery from the factory, as well as bringing it directly to the house on the morning of the installation. The windows we do have are very nice. I wish the website and phone trees were more helpful in getting me in touch with a real person. Too much time spent on the phone in general.

We shopped around for quite a bit and I was sold on the quality of the Pella door. We looked at their architect series and standard models. We went to the showroom and got a written sheet with everything we wanted on the door from color and glass to hardware and even the details of the storm door. They didn't take the order at the showroom but sent a salesrep out. My wife gave him all of the documentation including every detail. The first issue is after measuring the door he said it would be a custom door because of the current size of the door. Every other quote we had was for a standard door. This didn't make sense to me at first but I trusted the rep. When he returned the quote it was greatly increased from the others because of the customization. (We had the same door quoted from a big box retailer who came out and measured as well.) I still trusted the that the rep knew his own product. He then convinced my wife that we did not need a storm side panel because in all the reps years of experience he has never sold one and it looks just fine. We had it written down on the spec sheet we gave him. The installer came out and did a good job and were professional and cleaned up after. I have no beef with their installers. Pleasant to work with. I asked the installers about the storm window side panel as the installation looked unfinished and they informed me it was not on their work order and they didn't have one. After calling the rep back he told me it was not on the order. I asked what we could do to rectify the situation and at first he didnt want to help me and kept telling me that i didn't need one because in all his time he has never sold one. I explained the work looks unfinished as the storm door sticks out and looks strange because there is a 10 inch depth and unfinished edge without that side panel. After some calls back and forth He told me it would be another 700 dollars for a side panel. around half for the panel and installation and the other half was some kind of fee. I was floored and have tried to communicate with the company to no avail to get this resolved. The door is good and the hardware is very nice, but if you were to buy this product, go to your local home center and get a quote from them and their certified installers. Stay away from the Pella reps.
Description of Work: Salesrep came out to quote and measure. Installers installed new front door with side panel and storm door.

We were in the market for new windows, and, after looking at a lot of styles, decided we wanted Pella with the blinds between the glass. We visited the showroom in Oak Brook (1600 W 16th St.) and arranged to have Scott Dunda come to our home to give us an estimate for windows. He was prompt, informative, and easy to talk to. Settled on 2 casement, 2 double-hung, and 1 fixed, all with mini-blinds. An installation date of April 2nd was set. Crew arrived as scheduled and did a great job, or so we thought. On May 20th, there was a terrible storm. We just happened to be in the kitchen when we noticed water POURING in through the top of the window over the kitchen sink. Called Pella the following morning. The soonest they could have someone come out just to look at the window (not repair) was June 6th. We felt this was unacceptable so I contacted Scott. He was responsive, but the best he could do was on or after June 3rd, so we decided to stick with June 6th. Jim Wiley arrived as scheduled and could find nothing wrong with the window from the outside and proceeded to blame our siding for the leak. He took pictures and we provided him with a video of the leak. He said he would file a report. We heard nothing from Pella until June 16th at about 8:00 AM when the phone rang. The man (don't remember his name) said he had a crew in Woodridge that could come over to look at the window when they were through with that job, probably around noon. At 10:30, our dogs were going nuts and realized that Pella was here looking at the window. They also proceeded to blame the siding - but none of our other windows leaked and most of them are 29 years old. He took off the framing and discovered that it was indeed the installation's fault - the window hadn't been properly caulked. On June 25th, we sent an email to Scott Dunda, Emily Stroup (Lead Project Coordinator), and Jim Wiley documenting what had happened and voicing our displeasure with not only the reaction time, but the faulty installation. We asked if that is the best they could do and why should we purchase the rest of the 15 windows we need replaced from them. The only one to reply (on June 26th) was Jim Wiley saying that they should have done better. UPDATE - August 26,2014: We have had no contact from Pella's "customer service team". At this point, I guess it really doesn't matter. This just shows their "customer service" is nonexistent.

They did a beautiful job of installing these two doors. The doors are very attractive and are worth every penny. I had a very energetic nephew who pushed the screen door instead of sliding it and ripped the screen door and runners right off the track. I attempted to get it serviced but had difficulty getting the service dept. to commit. My guess is they did not want to come out this far and attempted to walk us through the repair ourselves. This did not work and their repair charges were quite high, so we have put off getting the screen door reattached to the track. Other than that, the doors are still working perfectly after about 9 years and I am still extremely pleased with the quality and installation.

It worked out great. They handled it in a timely fashion. It was well executed. Even when we forgot to ask for the energy sticker on the door, they were kind enough to just send it back through the mail for the federal credit. They took care of everything. The price is bad; it's a Pella door. It is overpriced.

Unbelievable quality of work. Jeremy Newman 630-549-5689 coordinated from beginning to end and we cannot say enough praise for this major re-hab. The "Tear offs" filled two dumpsters. Pella installed all the glass and inside door/window trim. Jeremy brought in Designfirst located in Itasca (Matt from Designfirst was our project manager 630-250-7777). Designfirst completed frame work, insulation, drywall repairs and created upper and lower decks off the bedrooms. The quality of work and coordination was so good we contracted with Designfirst to install new Hardie board siding on 1/2 the house and garage.

The windows were ordered in June. They were put in in July. The screens for four of the windows were warped. Replacements were put in the end of Sept. I have problems locking these windows. I've been shown twice, but locking them is still difficult. I think the warped screens should have been pointed out to me before the installer left and new ones ordered at that time. I noticed the problem a week later and called and then they were ordered.

Extremely difficult service team. I would never recommend Pella service to any of friends & family. Want to learn more ... read on: 1. Even before class action law suit was filed against Pella Windows, I contacted Pella Windows about the Windows SASH problem. Although under warranty, they said they will charge someone to come and provide estimate. In addition, when they came to replace the SASH, they replaced with unpainted SASH. 2. There is little or no cost to spray paint SASH to match window, which is 99.9% painted white. It was if not impossible, a very difficult service team to deal. 3. I live in Golf Course (sub division). Broken glass from the golf ball is expected ... Well, it happened to me and I call Pella Windows for an estimate. They estimated my repair 3 times higher than the other glass repair company. Although I told Pella Widows that I I do not want to use their service for this repair, they told me that they have already placed the order for my glass and I must pay in full. I disputed my credit card as product was not delivered by the Pella Windows and because of Credit Card strong arms, and my strong credit history with them a strong battle was eventually won. I have never seen any vendor like this in my life time. I am sure there are many like me other wise there be no class action law suite ... 4. After a few years I found other windows with the similar problems. I contacted dealers of Pella Windows such as Lowes to deal with the windows problem. This is when I learned about the Class Action Law Suite for the SASH. I was told to get the estimate from the Pella Windows and when time comes to file claim I should file 5. I fell sick with Colon Cancer and miss the July 23 window to file the claim. I decided to to it upon my self and get it repaired. When I contact Pella Windows for repair based of their previous estimate, they jacked-up the price by 33%. 6. It makes no sense in this home building / construction business the price has gone up by 33% in less than 2 years. Moreover it is a known Pella Windows problem to begin with. 7. If you do not believe me ...just google Pella Iowa and you will know what I am talking about. 8. Stay away from Pella Windows if you can avoid. I am will willing to share very unprofessional e-mails from Pella Windows service team. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL TEAM. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND. Regards, Skip

I called Pella Windows because of their reputation and the good reviews. The sales person arrived promptly and provided a quote the same evening. After thinking about for a few days we chose to replace all 20 windows in the house. Installation went well, on schedule, completed in 2 days. The installers were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. However, a few months later we discovered that one of the windows is leaking. The Pella Support is so bad that I have difficulty describing it. When you call the support line (I've called more then 5 times) you must wait at least 15 minutes before getting an operator. Scheduling someone to come out to see an active leak took 2 weeks. The inspector who arrived did not a ladder tall enough to reach the second level of the house, even though I identified which window was leaking. Another inspector came the following day with the proper ladder. He confirmed that the windows was leaking and that the window was not installed correctly. I was told that the installer would be calling he sometime next week. I was not given any information about the installer. I was not given and idea when someone would be available to fix the problem. After a week had pasted without any communication I called Pella Support line and was told that a manager would call me in 1 week. I explained that it had already been 1 week. I was told it would take 1 week from this call. I called back 3 days later and waited on hold while the operator tried to find the manager who was assigned the case. I waited on hold for more then 30 minutes and was told that the manager was in a meeting and would return my call today. Writing the review has helped my frustration but my problem is still unresolved.

Excellent service. I had it put in the basement downstairs and it was really cold before but now it's nice and warm. The guy that installed it was excellent, he did it very quickly.
Description of Work: I got a Pella Windows special order window and a sliding glass door, and it included a privacy blind.

I choose a different vendor but the Pella windows were competitive in price and quality. I would consider them for a future project.
Description of Work: The Pella agent provided a quote to replace my front windows. They measured the window opening, explained their product, discussed how they would remove the old windows and and install the new ones, and showed me a sample of their windows.
