Description of Work: Replaced a glass sliding door... The salesman was fine and the crew did just fine. The price was a lot more than we expected to pay. We have 2 more glass sliding doors to replace plus all windows. If the last cost is correct, it will cost $40000 + to finish job. This is in a $200000 home. |We are considering selling the home instead of replacing the doors and windows.

Description of Work: I have used Pella for all my windows, with the exception of the basement windows. My house was built in 1926. Since I have owned this house I have replaced all the windows and doors in the house. The times and prices when each was done varies.

Description of Work: The windows look great and are a huge improvement over the original windows (~80 hey ears old). The Pella installation team did a wonderful job. They cleaned up after themselves both inside and out (in December) and were the definition of professional while they were here.

Description of Work: Replaced nine windows with double pane architectural windows. Replaced the outside trim on all windows and the inside trim on all windows. Outside trim was done in cedar. Inside trim was done in oak in the mission style. The work was completed in one day with three crews. The workers were polite and paid attention to detail. I would work with this group again without reservations. Actual date of service was 12/2010.

Description of Work: We had Pella windows installed when we built our home 20 years ago. The windows are fine - until the glass broken. Because of the way the windows are constructed you need to replace the entire sash rather than just the glass. So - a broken window turns into a $1,200.00 problem.

Description of Work: I called the Oak Brook office the evening of October 2. They had a very detailed recording saying their office was closed and part of the message was either stay on the line or call the 800 number to speak with a representative. I did that and spoke to a telephone representative. I described to her that we have Pella windows in our home and we need a combination of service and new windows. I gave her my cell phone for someone to call me back on. She knew I was calling from a different number (callerID) and from that number (home) she knew my address. She said someone would get back to me in the next 2 days. Two days later (yesterday) -- nothing. Not a call, not an email. Nothing. Last night I went to the corporate website and completed an email form. I actually put in my email that I had spoken with someone two nights ago. I asked that someone call me today. Again -- zero, zippo, zilch. Pella has a good reputation. But something has gone awry here. If possible, I will send an email to their marketing department. This doesn't seem like the Pella that I would expect.

Description of Work: Talked with service department. They were annoyed with my call. They could not understand their 36 digit serial number off of the window that I read to them over the phone. They became even more annoyed with this. I was put on hold for about 10 minutes and gave up. Pella windows are way overrated. Really bad service. Not helpful at all.
