Pella Windows and Doors

I was not impressed with them. Their representative was really unclear. We didn't particularly like the product. The rep was very confusing.

Helpful, knowledgeable sales rep came out and helped me select the right product. Did not hard sell at all; provided good follow-up and coordination with the installation team. Installation team was clearly experienced and were able to do the job well and quickly. Only glitch was apparently my sales person didn't provide the installation team with enough information about the job (extra long ladder needed to get to two of the windows), so they had to come back after the initial visit. Small defect with one of the window sashes was promptly addressed by replacing the entire sash. Very good experience overall, and after 6 months with the windows they look and work great.

They were great, they were on time, they were very good at installing the windows, they were very professional, they were reasonably priced.

Everything went well and as planned. We negotiated a price lower than the original estimate. The work was done well and on time. We were very satisfied.

Met with Laurie Rudman and she was very knowledgeable and helpful in her presentation. She was very good at listening to my needs and concerns and formulated some ideas that would make sense for me. She even fought me on the exterior color of the windows and I am glad to say she won. They are Beautiful and I get many compliments from the neighbors. The installation crew were excellent. They had sent 5 guys to my home and installed all the windows in 1 Day! They were very diligent and professional and didn't damage anything and cleaned up after themselves. What a wonderful experience. The one thing I admired about Laurie over the other window salespersons is that she did not pressure me to sign today. She has been in the business for a while and it shows. What a joy to work for. Although the price was among the higher of the companies I believe the windows are amongst the best out there and that the experience of working with this group was worth every penny.

The installers were not as detail oriented in some areas. They did a nice job installing, but noticing issues that came up and bringing them to my attention did not happen. I had to find the issues myself.

THE GUY THAT CAME OUT WAS A REALLY NICE GUY TO WORK WITH. HE TOOK HIS TIME, AND HE SEEMED TO REALLY CARE ABOUT HIS WORK. HE ANSWERED ALL OF MY QUESTIONS, HE WAS PUNCTUAL, AND I ENJOYED DEALING WITH HIM.

Their sales person, Lorie, was every helpful in choosing the windows and the price.

They charged me $100 for the first 15 minutes just to come out to see what the problem was. I feel they have an inferior product they sell for 3 times as much as regular windows and a very poor service attitude. They told me there was no charge for the parts if I wanted to put them in myself.

The contractors were always on time. The quality of their work was top notch. They were always easy to get a hold of. The pricing was average, not too high or too low. I would recommend them to others.

This company did excellent work! They were just very efficient. They cleaned up very well after the work was done. There was good communication between us and the people doing the job.

They were reliable and have a good product.

The salesperson was slow to assist us but the workers were excellent, always on time, and very speedy. They did a great job of taking the windows out and putting them back in so we didn't freeze (the work was done in November).

Laurie Rudman was the sales representative. We had worked with her before on a previous project. She is very knowledgeable and interested in making sure you're happy with the final product and that it's appropriate to the space. We chose the designer series for the kitchen because the shades are inside the windows - now there's no concern for getting the shades dirty or wet during cooking/eating, especially with kids and pets in the house. Both the windows and door look great. The installation team did a great job and cleaned up well, too. Pella had several stains to choose from, but none were the right color, so we had to have a different contractor come to stain the wood frames. The lock that Pella uses in the door did not go with our other locks, so I can't use the same key in that door as in the others. Otherwise, everything is great!

We hired Pella because we thought we were purchasing quality products and expert installation. Boy were we wrong. Most, if not all of the windows and doors had some sort of defect. The installation was a complete mess. I had installers at my house 4 times before they got things right. The first installer was a complete joke. This guy was a hack. I can't believe Pella let this joker do installs. FYI, Pella subcontracts their work just like everyone else. So when the salesperson tells you that they have their own people, it's a lie. They have subcontracts that exclusively work for Pella. Installation was shotty and they even damaged my patio cover by stepping on it when they were installing the windows. Although the older supervisor did everything he could to rectify the situation, I will never give my business to Pella again. They are an absolute joke.

THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE DOOR STICKING ABOUT A MONTH AFTER THEY DID THE JOB BUT THEY WERE GREAT ABOUT COMING BACK OUT AND FIXING IT FOR FREE. NOT MANY COMPANIES WOULD DO THAT. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH WHAT THEY DID.

They were punctual and did what they said they would. Did not hire them however, because we were informed that any job under $2000.00 requires payment in full up front even before the materials are ordered. We had a similar situation with another contractor in the past and got burned so we were not willing to do it again. This is also the reason we would not call on them in the future, at least not for a job under $2000.00

WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED IN WORK DONE. NOT DONE AS WAS PRESENTED TO US. MISLEADING PRESENTATION- WORKERS WORE PELLA T-SHIRTS BUT WERE NOT PELLA EMPLOYEES. DAMAGED WOOD, LEFT AREAS STREWN WITH DEBRIS, RUSHED WORK, WORKED OUTSIDE IN THE DARK, SOME WINDOWS WERE DEFECTIVE -NOT FIXED TILL 3 MONTHS LATER;BECAUSE OF THE NUMEROUS DELAYS, WE HAD TO RESCHEDULE STAINING OF WINDOWS TILL SPRING; HEADQUARTER OFFICES NOT CONCERNED WITH POOR QUALITY OF PRODUCT AND WORK, MANAGER COULD NEVER BE REACHED, I COULD GO ON AND ON.

DEALING WITH RAY, THE SALESMAN, WAS LIKE DEALING WITH A USED CAR SALESMAN. RAY WAS COCKY AND HIS PRICES WERE TOO HIGH. I WAS ALSO CONFUSED AS TO WHY PELLA HAD TO SEND SOMEONE FROM CAROL STREAM ON A SALES CALL ON THE NORTH SHORE. WHY COULDN'T THEY SEND SOMEONE FROM THEIR NILES OFFICE?

SALESMAN ED WAS LATE - CALLED 30 MINUTES LATE AND SHOWED UP OVER AN HOUR LATER. HE HAD VERY LITTLE TO PITCH HIS PRODUCT BEFORE I HAD TO LEAVE THE HOUSE. I ASKED HIM TO WRITE UP A QUOTE AND PUT IT IN MY MAILBOX. INSTEAD OF INVESTING THE TIME IN A QUALITY QUOTATION, ED CHOSE TO WRITE A FIGURE DOWN ON HIS BUSINESS CARD AS I WALKED US OUT THE DOOR. HIS TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL APPROACH DID NOT SIT WELL WITH ME. BECAUSE I HAD A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE AT THE PELLA STORE, I LET PELLA SEND ANOTHER SALESMAN WHO GAVE ME BETTER SERVICE, BUT STILL NOT A GREAT EXPERIENCE. LOVE PELLA WINDOWS, DISLIKE THEIR SALES TEAM.

WE GOT A MUCH MORE COMPETITIVE QUOTE FROM AN INDEPENDENT COMPANY WHO SELLS PELLA, AND WENT WITH THEM.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS GOING TO BE A TEDIOUS PROBLEM TO REPAIR, BUT JIM WAS VERY HELPFUL AND COURTEOUS.

ONE THING THAT IMPRESSED ME THE MOST, WHEN A FEW HUNTER DOUGLAS BLIND INSTALLATION CLIPS WERE LOST THEY ORDERED MORE AND SHIPPED THEM TO ME. PERHAPS EVEN MORE IMPRESSIVE IS THE FACT THAT MORE WEREN'T LOST. THEY ARE VERY SMALL. SO FAR MY GAS USAGE IS LOWER WITH THE NEW WINDOWS.

SALESPERSON WAS GREAT, NO PRESSURE AT ALL. THE INSTALLERS WERE AMAZING, INSTALLING IN WINTER, BUT COVERED MY FLOORS AGAINST SNOW, CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES AND VERY NICE AND ACCOMMODATING. THEY ACTUALLY POINTED OUT THAT I NEEDED WIDER TRIM, CALLED AND HAD IT DELIVERED WHILE THEY WERE INSTALLING SO THAT MY WINDOW COULD BE FINISHED THE SAME DAY. THIS WAS PERFECT. BOTH THE SALES PERSON AND THE INSTALLERS WERE GREAT. ON TIME, FOLLOWED UP AND WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO HELP. MARK CAME OVER TO MEASURE TWICE, AND THE INSTALLERS MADE SURE THAT IT WAS DONE CORRECTLY. THE MOST PROFESSIONAL WORKERS AND SALES PEOPLE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH.
