Nex Flooring

We contacted Mike the week of Thanksgiving to have them come out for a quote and within a week, we were all done. Mike came and did the quote and Mike's father came and did the work. Both were very professional and told us exactly what to expect and thins to consider given our lifestyle. My husband was very impressed with their attention to detail. Overall we were very happy with them. Price was reasonable and they put the colors down and let us sit on it for a day and see it in different lights/times of day. I felt I trusted them and did not feel nervous about them being in my house for so long.

Mike husband contacted company and spoke with Mike. He scheduled an appointment to meet with us and give us an estimate within a couple of days of contacting him. Mike was very pleasant, professional and had a lot of knowledge with brazilian walnut. Brazilian walnut is one of the hardest woods on the janka scale and very difficult to work with but Mike assured us that it wouldn't be a problem. The following week, Mike's team came out and knocked it out within 8 hours from start to finish. They were extremely professional, courteous and the best part was when they were done, they cleaned up after themselves and the room was cleaner than when they started! The floors are beautiful and exceeded our expectations. I would DEFINITELY recommend this company! They were so reasonable as well. The laid the floors down and put all the trim work up as well. A++++++++ COMPANY!

Very nice company to deal with. The price was competitive with another low bidder. However, I've used the other bidder before and went with them. This company is fair. They don't use the ridiculous excuse of living in a condo to jack the price up.

It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The washing machine in my condo had overflowed and the Pergo flooring was destroyed (YAY!!) and had to be be replaced (YAY!!!). I needed floor people and that's when I joined Angie's list. I had 3 companies come out and decided to go with Nex Flooring. When Mike came out to give me his estimate, he took time answering my questions and explaining my options to me. My first choice was to go with the first option, which was simply to remove the Pergo, see what the original wood was underneath, sand it and put a stain on it. That option would have cost approximately $1,100. However, once the Pergo was removed we saw that the original maple floor had been painted. Sanding was done and once the guys started applying the stain, they stopped working to show me what the entire floor would look like. I saw there were too many imperfections which would have been magnified by staining that floor and would have been unacceptable to me. I would not have been happy with the end result. So at that point, I moved on to option #2 which was to install engineered hardwood flooring. Mike was patient, answered my hundreds of questions and was able to get some fabulous flooring that I love! It's installed now and it's beautiful. The price was very fair and reasonable, the workmanship was the best, the people were professional, informative, and very pleasant to be around. I highly recommend this company!

Nex Flooring's proposal was not as professional as the company we went with.

Nex did an outstanding job, and the new and refinished floors look wonderful. Despite having to chip-out a cement pad under the front hall slate floor - which was not included in their proposal - they met the original pricing and deadline. In fact, when I offered to pay them for the unforeseen work they refused to change the price. They were careful to keep the house clean and remove the waste. They were professional and easy to work with. I would hire them again and recommend them without heartily.

Nex Flooring was great. They came when they said they were going to come and gave a quote in a quick amount of time and because we added some electrical work to it we went with JB Construction instead. They were very professional and were great.

Our overall experience is good and we will use them again in the future.

I recently had to refinish my maple kitchen floor and sought out 3 estimates from different contractors. Nex Flooring came in with the most reasonable price and accommodated a very tight timeline. Mike was very helpful in describing the work to be done, as well as providing additional information on the products that he used for refinishing my floor. Every time we met, he was exactly on time, and he finished the entire job within his estimated timeline. The floors look brand new, and I am very satisfied with the workmanship. Very professional; anytime I have additional refinishing to be done, I will call Mike to do the work.

Nex Flooring were very organized. They contacted us ahead us time because the wood needs to be in a week or so before the job. They came when they said they would come. We had 2 problems that were not their problems but they solved it. The job went very well. We were very pleased with their service. They are personable but at the same time they're professional and you can tell that they know what they're doing. We've used some people and they were the most reasonable.

He was very helpful. He was able to correct us because we were not aware of the kind of flooring we had. We ended up not going with him for pricing but he was really helpful for teaching exactly what we had and what we needed. Actually it turned out that we couldn't afford the job at that moment so we are going with carpet instead. The estimate was for about $4000. He was professional and he knew what he was talking about. He showed up when he said he would.

Overall Great...!! We felt their estimate was fair, and the scheduling went really quickly. They were very professional and cleaned up after finishing their job. The project was completed on time, and we are very happy with the results From start to finish they did a wonderful job and we got a great service. I would absolutely recommend them.

Fantastic! We have used these guys in Chicago, but moved into a house in Highland Park that needed a kitchen makeover. Saved the floors for last. They came in an did a fantastic job of sanding, staining and sealing. Helped make sure the stains matched and they gave us good advice on whether we should do other parts of the house. These guys know floors and they work hard.

I didn't use their services because I am selling the house and decided to not make the investment. If I did have to do the work, I would select them. I will return to them for my wood floor needs in the future.

Gold Standard Work. The floors had not been touch since installed 20 years ago. They made them look better then new. Their attention to detail is outstanding. They were a pleasure to deal with in all phases of the project. Highly recommend their services.

He did a good job. In fact, they screwed up some area. I called and they came right back out and fixed it. They were very professional.

Great job overall. I discussed the job in length and detail w/ Mike Necs over email for a few weeks leading up to the job. He was really helpful in a consulting role before Nex ever started the work (in fact, even before they had the job). I thought this was great that he was willing to handle a bunch of Q&A, as I am sort of a fanatic when it comes to choosing materials for a job. Job took about 7 full days. A couple of those were longer than 8 hours to get the job done before the Xmas holiday. After the first day and talking w/ Bill a bit, I was more than comfortable w/ letting them work without me being around. The floor looks like a million bucks. The precision on the places on the floor where you would really notice detail is exceptional. Meaning making sure the floor vents are square and the wood joining to them has no gaps. Things like the transition areas by doors are done perfectly. I went through a lot of trouble when choosing tile underlayment for a bath and laundry room floor tile to make it so it would line up at same height as 3/4" hardwood, and Nex made those places butt up perfectly to my tile so there was no ugly transition piece. Looks great, perfectly straight and height lined up great after sanding. Stair nose to the basement also lined up perfectly. The baseboard and shoe mill work was done very well. Everything lines up great. Constantine has quite a bit of experience doing mill work. He was able to match up the colors to my existing window/door casings. Nex won't be the least expensive flooring contractor you'll find, but I give them A on price anyways, because in my opinion, the quality of work they do for the money is well worth it. Bill even saved me a few bucks as they were particular on what boards they used coming to an end of a run, so the waste was very minimal. I bought 9% extra wood (this is normal for waste estimate range), and ended up able to return 5 bundles of wood for > $200 savings. I figure they only had ~3% waste. Bill also advised me, essentailly, that I was wasting money by putting a 4th coat of Bona traffic, because it was overkill. The stuff is really hard. He was happy to put it down anyways just to make me happy. Out of the entire job, the only thing I noticed was a single staple penetrating the interior of one of my floor vents (where the vent would lay down inside flat). So I will just grind this off w/ Dremel tool so vent lays flat. Not bad for the only thing noticeable on a 1360sq foot job! The first picture is of the sample stains that we tried on the actual floor. This was great, because you get a better perspective on a larger sample area than just one board. The 2nd picture is during the top coat application of Bona Traffic. I'd definitely use Nex again if I were to ever do a hardwood floor job. Thanks for a great floor.

I liked the straight-forwardness of the head of the company. We liked the price and we liked that it was rated high on Angie’s List. They were very prompt, they did what they said they were going to do and they did it when they said they’d do it. All that was very good.

Mike and his dad came to our new house within 2 days of me contacting them. The job was to refinish the floors in our foyer, halls, kitchen and powder room as well as lay/stain new floors to match, in the remaining rooms on our first floor. The job was big. They spent a lot of time with me and my partner, not only measuring, but explaining our options, listening to our goals and giving us sound advice on how to move forward. Nex Flooring was my fourth estimate/visit as I wanted to be sure to hire the right team to do this huge job. I hired them that night. They arrived 15 minutes early on the day scheduled. Mike's dad and 2 of his workers were there every day that week with a smile. They were courteous and professional and left our house neat and spotless each night before they left. In our living room we decided to do a really pretty hardwood frame and then laid the inset wood at a diagonal. The final product is gorgeous! They are not only great hardwood floor installers, they're extremely artistic craftsmen. I would wholeheartedly recommend them and I will use them again when we tackle our upstairs!

Mike Necs, believed one of the owners, came out to view our wood floor we wanted to refinish. Mike arrived at the day, time, he said he would to view the wood floor and provide a Proposal to refinish. Mike was very professional and polite. Mike viewed our floor and offered options to refinish; a buff and recoat or total sand, stain, and coat. Two days later, by email, we received pricing. Pricing was very, very good compared to competitors Proposals, for work to be done. My wife and I found Nex Flooring to be unique, in a very-favorable way, because they gave us options of what floor finishing we may want to do. Mike said our floor doesn't require total sand, stain, and finish, that we could get away with less, have a quality end result, and save in the process. No other competitor shared such with us, each other competitor spoke solely of total sand, stain, and finish, with prices much-more than Nex Flooring. We wanted to contract Nex Flooring but they did not have which we prefer. We wish Nex Flooring well in all their endeavors.

They made the project stress-free - from start to finish. They arrived on time, explained the process, gave choice of stains, moved furniture as needed (since I couldn't), and work was dust-free, just as they said it would be. Excellent job.
