Their price was very competitive, but I went with another contractor who was highly recommended by a friend and whose work I was able to see. If I hadn't had this connection with the other contractor, I would have hired Mike. I will definitely recommend him to others when they need hardwood flooring estimates.

I could not be more satisfied with this project. The floor looks beautiful. The crew was professional, courteous, and personal. No fuss, no attitude. Working with them completely changed my outlook about dealing with contractors. No, really! You should give them a try, it will happen to you too! Communication was good. The estimate was prompt and to the point. At the beginning of the project they sanded down a section of the floor and tested the stain color to make sure I liked it when it was applied to the wood. They showed me 3 similar colors to choose from. They also fixed 2 sections of the baseboard that came loose and reattached them to the wall. This was a stress free project with great results. I could not have recommended them more!

The Necs were great. They responded quickly to our request for a quote and to our subsequent questions. (Nex was the only company willing to offer a quote on a complete tear-off rather than just putting new floor over old -- and their price was very good.) They accommodated our schedule and accomplished the job with amazing speed: one day to pull up the old floor, one day to lay the new floor, one day to seal. The results show their care and attention to detail: the floor looks beautiful, flows smoothly from the hardwood floors in the adjoining rooms, and -- as promised -- no creaks or squeaks. Was impressed with their careful trimwork around cabinets, that they bothered to cover the phone wire with baseboard and to use primed quarter-rounds or bare wood quarter-rounds where appropriate. They were tidy and unfailingly courteous throughout.

Nex Flooring is fantastic. I emailed Mike Necs and explained our situation. He called back right away and gave us an approximate cost over the phone. Nex charges by the square foot and they do not charge a minimum. I called a few other companies and they charged a minimum cost of at least $450 regardless of the size of the job. Our appointment was set for 8 AM and the owners of the company, Vasile and Maria, showed up right on time. They brought in all of their equipment and immediately got to work. A great thing about this company is that have dust free sanding machinery. Maria and Vasile were very professional, did a fantastic job and left absolutely no mess. It was a true pleasure meeting and speaking with them. They are wonderful people- friendly, knowledgeable and full of integrity. And the floors now look beautiful. I couldn't be happier!

I was a bit apprehensive hiring a contractor from the website. Usually I get a friends referral, but I was blown away with Nex Flooring. I had sent the email asking for an estimate and work in the evening and the same day night I got a response. They showed up sharp at the appointed time for an estimate. On the scheduled day, Mike was punctual and did a meticulous job. I was very impressed with his acumen and craftsmanship. He proved very professional.

Nex responded to our inquiry quickly and set up the appointment for the estimate, arriving exactly on time. The work was scheduled quickly and completed as scheduled. They were very considerate of our schedule. The work was of high quality and the materials used of high quality. The job took 1 1/2 days and everything was cleaned up after the first day such that you wouldn't have known they were there working. A positive experience from beginning to end!

This company had very reasonable rates. They are a family-owned company and they are very professional. I found them on Angie's List. I am happy with the work performed in my house and would use them again with no problem.

Nex flooring was the only company that was willing to work with us. They were willing to stain the maple in a cherry color which is not easy and they were willing to install flooring in just 1 room. We had multiple people out to look at the job and they all either said the job was too small or they wouldn't be able to do the stain. Nex delivered the wood the day after we hired them, installed the following week and worked with us to get the stain the way we wanted it. The first attempt at the stain didn't turn out quite like we'd hoped...they sanded it off and tried again...no additional charge. They were very friendly, accommodating, and professional. They wanted us to be happy with the work they did. We'll definitely call them when we do more hardwoods.

Did a great job minimizing dust. Almost none outside of room being sanded. Very considerate of other areas, removing shoes etc. Came early so that my wife could pick out the stain without being late for work. Did an excellent job. Less expensive then the other companies I contacted. They were one of only a few companies that were willing to do a small room without charging a minimum price.

Mike and his father did an excellent job in every way. They explained everything that they were going to do and gave helpful advice. They were polite and worked neatly and carefully. They are very concerned about making their customers happy. Phone calls were returned promptly and they showed up on time when they scheduled appointments and work days.

Mike came to our home and reviewed the work we were to have done. He provided a quote on site with a written followed up within 3 business days. He was professional and courteous. He worked his schedule to do it at a time that we were out of town on vacation. We needed to pick stains and other options prior to leaving our holiday. He brought 5 options to test. He provided his opinion on what he believed would be best, but left up to us to review the following day in the daylight. The work was done on schedule and with a Bona Dust Containment System. Upon our return the floors were finished and just wonderful. They were very good. I did not find a large amount of dust to be cleaned off the walls. He called upon our return to make sure that we were happy with their results.

Mike and his father were very pleasant to work with. Mike was very punctual and returned phone calls and/or e-mails readily. Both Mike and his father were very eager to have us satisfied with the work they completed. Once the job was finished we did not like the color of the stain on the 1/4 round. Mike and his dad worked to find a stain that would better match the baseboards. There was no extra charge for the extra work and time. I found their commitment and demeanor very refreshing.

This is the second job I contracted with Mike Nex and his team and I continue to be extremely satisfied with Mike's knowledge, excellent recommendations and of course the work. Their work is meticulous and they are neat and clean. On top of all of this, their price is very reasonable. Without a single hesitation I can wholeheartedly recommend Nex Flooring. My hardwood floors on both the upper and lower levels of my home are absolutely beautiful. They schedule the work, are right on time and finish right on schedule. Anything I need in the flooring area, I just call Mike and I can recommend to anyone else to do the same. Great job Mike, and thanks again.

Absolutely overjoyed! Mike came out promptly to give an estimate & go over the options. With small children in the condo, Mike suggested a water based finish... safer with the kids. We scheduled for the end of the week & I am shocked at how good the floors look. Will be using them again!

Mike Nex called me back quickly and came out to do a quote. We had another quote which was somewhat higher from another firm and we did not get as a good of a feeling from the other. Mike and his dad performed the work. They were very timely, clean, and great to work with. They ensured we were happy with the results throughout the process and left our place spotless. We would definitely use them again.

They provided a very professional estimate and were willing to answer several questions. I decided to go with another firm with a comparable reputation that provided a lower bid.

Mike was very responsive and helpful. Calls and emails were answered promptly. He made his estimate after a home visit and fully explaining my options. Water-based vs. oil-based stain. I chose my stain color from a series of samples that he applied to the floor after it was sanded. As opposed to just from the chips. It made a big difference to see it in place. Mike and his father did the work themselves. It looks great and was done on time and with no complications. Although his price was slightly more than the others, I feel as if it was worth the money, and had the other groups actually come out to the house, the estimates could have changed.

Mike was very prompt in returning my initial phone call. He and his Dad both showed up on time for the estimate. They are a delightful duo to deal with! Very personable. They made their recommendations, took measurements and e-mailed the estimate the following day as promised. When Mike and his Dad were at the house I learned that they had also done some work for a gentleman I work with. I consulted with this fella the next day and based on his and your recommendations, I decided to go with Mike. I didn't even get any other estimates. My floors are beautiful and, while I so worried about the dust and mess, there virtually wasn't any. This Father/Son team is A+!

I was impressed with John from the moment he came to give an estimate. We discussed both oak and bamboo flooring. He brought several samples of each and left them overnight so we could see them in natural and artificial lighting. Before he left the first evening, I knew I would hire him. All the furniture was moved at no extra charge. The bedroom was completed the first day so we would not be displaced overnight. Everything was cleaned up daily. All tools covered up to keep it out of sight of the curious 4 yr old and 18 month old. They even played with the little one and let him express his delight in the big saw. Old world craftsmanship at its best. We were told that it would be 2 months before the job could be done. It was definitely worth the wait.

This was the second time we used Nex. A few years ago they used a Swedish finish on our family room floor and did a great job. When they came to do our living room and stairs, they claimed they were no longer using that finish because it was too harmful and they used a water-based finish instead. We were not savvy enough to insist they use the Swedish finish, but we had nothing but horrible problems with the water-based finish, partly because of the nature of the product and partly because of the slipshod work done by Nex. They slopped the finish on our newly primed risers and our painter had to spend an entire day scraping it off. The finish came out rough and dull, and Nex came back to buff and apply another coat and used a high-tack masking tape that was impossible to get off. Now they refuse to come back as promised and won't return our calls, and the finish is peeling off. Run, don't walk, to another floor finisher!

The original floor was in bad shape with paint and pet stains. The previous owner carpeted over the floor so we don't know how long they were in this shape. Nex Flooring sanded, stained and put three coats of waterbased finish on the floor. The main floor looked OK. They replaced some boards, but the wood they used looked a little different than the original. The filler that they used is coming out from between the boards less than nine months after completion. Also, you can slightly see the old stain on the edges of the stairs.

Spoke with Mike when we called to have them come out and give us the original estimate. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Set up an appt. time for him to come and see our condo and give us the estimate. He showed up right on time and we had a estimate by the next day. We'd heard only wonderful things about Mike and his team and would have easily gone with him. Unfortunately, we went with a different company b/c their estimate was slightly less and they too had received good ratings. Would not hesitate to call Mike up again for any future work we might need.

Great experience, value of installation was definitely worth the price. Showed up on time, finished on schedule, floors look great. Worked with me on the details and kept me informed on what was going on.

They left us with a confident feeling.
