Nex Flooring

When I called for an estimate, my call was returned promptly. Communication was good and all of my questions were answered. Mike and his father were able to come just when I needed them. They do excellent work, are very polite and also very careful. When the finish dried on the floor it didn't look quite shiny enough, so Mike come out and put another coat of finish on for me. I have had this company refinish several other floors in my house and I've always been completely satisfied with them.

Mike had the best price of the flooring people we had come out. More importantly he was professional, punctual and did everything he said he would. The machine they used to sand left nearly zero dust behind. After sanding he set out several stain options on our floor for review. We decided we didn't like the color we chose after seeing it on a larger area. He had no issues with resanding that area and using a different stain at no additional charge. The job took exactly the amount of time he quoted us. He had great attention to detail and I would recommend Nex flooring.

Nex Flooring was prompt, very professional, and very clean. They completed the job a half a day faster than estimated, and the quality is excellent. We have other hardwood floors in our house and their work looks the best. Highly recommended.

Mike and his father spent one day for demolition and three days for install and finishing. Unfortunately, some areas were dark and others light, and there were sanding marks visible near the walls. We had chosen a rather dark stain (Dura Seal Rosewood), so it was difficult to make the coloration even and consistent. Needless to say, we were not satisfied with the finish, and neither was Mike. We were afraid he would tell us there was nothing he could do, but he immediately insisted that they sand the floor down to bare wood and stain/finish it again. They came back for another 2 days, sanded the floor being sure not to leave marks with the edger, "waterpopped" the floor to create more consistency with the stain, re-stained, and applied 3 coats of finish. The finished product is perfect, and just may be the most beautiful wood floor I've ever seen. My wife and I could not be happier. Mike's willingness to spend 2 extra days refinishing the floor and making things right says alot about his professionalism, and sets him apart in the industry.

Nex Flooring was very responsive to my inquiry. Two days after leaving message I had a quote. Mike and Bill, the owners, started the project a few days later and completed the job in two days. They syarted and finished according to their schedule and were puntual starting each day at 8:00am. Sanded the floors the first day (with very little dust) and stained and poly the next day. Floors look new and I would absolutely recommend them and use them again!! Nice job.

They were very pleasant to deal with. They were very efficient and they were on time. We were very satisfied with the end results. They were available and the price was reasonable.

We are very pleased with the work performed by Nex Flooring. They came out to take a look at our needs and provided an estimate. They also gave some advice to help us choose the right kind of flooring. Their customer service skills are excellent; they did a great job of cutting to make a seamless transition from room to room; they left the place clean when they finished; and the price they gave during the estimate was competitive (and turned about to be a good deal considering their good work). They also exceeded my expectations when they picked up the flooring materials from the supplier for me. I would recommend them to others.

Nex helped us first with our decisions by explaining pros and cons of different flooring and then gave us an estimate for three different types allowing us to make a decision that was best for us. We picked the option we liked best out of the three which was solid red oak flooring and picked out a color of stain. The installation went great. It was very clean (hardly any dust to speak of even with all the sanding and buffing to get the floor ready for stain). Mike showed us the stain color on the actual floor before doing the whole floor to make sure that it was what we expected which it was. The staining and finishing process went well and the floor looks fantastic.

The Necs' are wonderful. The entire experience was great. They are true craftsmen who really know their stuff. They listened to what we wanted and made good suggestions for alternatives. They met our deadline despite running into problems removing the existing vinyl flooring. A bonus is that they are a pleasure to work with. They show up when they say they will and even called to let us know that they were running late due to traffic even though it was only about 10 minutes. At least one of the Necs' is always on the job so there is never any doubt about the quality of work. They were also the only company we spoke with that was willing to use environmental stripper.

When we took up our old, frequently-cleaned living room carpet, hoping to see a pristine wooden floor below, we were surprised to see over 20 years of stains left by various dog and cat "accidents." The floor needed to be refinished. Beginning with the prompt response when we requested an estimate and continuing to the completion of the job, Nex was clear, professional, sought to meet our specific needs, and completed the work even faster than orignially estimated. They had originally been scheduled for a Thursday, but a death in the family necessitated our having to reschedule. They were very nice and understanding, then arranged to come the very next day. They had "dust-free" equipment that really was (no dusting required anywhere in the house after!!) and even put up a plastic sheet over the entrance to the room. They had originally told us that they would probably have to return for a second day to finish the buffing of the last coat, but they were able to do the whole job within one day. It looks great!!

They were very good. They were very helpful like they gave us the choices and opinion on colors and how it might look in different areas of the house because we have older flooring it looks different in different areas as it has different quality flooring. They are very responsive.

I hired Nex Flooring to sand and refinish oak floors with a dark brown stain throughout my condo unit. Since I have a continuous, open floorplan which made it impossible to do the work in two stages, I donated my living room and dining room furniture and scheduled the delivery of new furniture for after the floors were refinished. The remaining furniture and boxes were able to fit in my bathroom and kitchen so that it was not necessary to hire movers or put things in storage. Mike Necs and his father were very helpful and even assisted me in moving the heavier items into the kitchen. They were professional and very pleasant to work with. The job took two weeks to complete. Although they put plastic in the doorways, because they did not put tape all the way around to truly seal it, but rather put pieces of tape here and there to hold up the plastic, dust got into the kitchen and inside all the kitchen cabinets. I therefore had to wash all of my dishes, glasses, pots and pans, etc.as there was a thin layer of dust everywhere. At first, the floors looked beautiful, especially the color. I then noticed that the floors were not sanded evenly all the way to edges of the walls but rather had waves in them, the most prominent being in the main area between the kitchen and living room. This was the case around the entire perimeter of my apartment. In about two weeks, I also noticed white lines had formed in between each of the baseboards which were not there before. I called Mike to explain the problems and was told that the white lines may be due to insufficient humidity in my apartment. He suggested that I run humidifiers for a while at between 40% and 50% humidity and see if the problem goes away.. I did this for about 2 months and the white lines did not go away. Mike and his father came to my home in early February to inspect the floors and acknowledged that they did not look right. They suggested that we schedule an appointment with the representative from Bona (the manufacturer of the finish) to get their opinion as to the cause of the white lines. As to the uneven waves in my floor, I was told that those were sanding lines due to sanding by hand around the edges and that was "normal". I have had my floors refinished both in my current home as well as others and never had sanding lines - the floors were always perfectly even throughout. At Mike's request I sent him pictures of my floor via email on February 23, 2009 so that he could set up an appointment with the Bona representative. When I did not hear back from him, I followed up on March 6th and March15th but did not receive a response to my emails until April 9, 2009. On April 11, 2009, per Mike's request, I sent him dates and times when I was available to meet with him and the Bona rep. Again, I received no response. On May 2, 2009, approximately 3 months after Mike came to inspect my floors and still no appointment with Bona was set up, I sent an email to Mike demanding a refund. Mike responded that he still wanted to get Bona's opinion regarding the floors and gave the excuse of having difficulty setting up a meeting because the Bona rep had been on vacation for 2 weeks and that his wife was sick with the flu (that may very well have been true but it doesn't account for the 3 months that went by and why he couldn't touch base and let me know what was going on). Nevertheless, I agreed to give him another chance to set up a meeting with the Bona representative. Mike and the Bona rep came to inspect my floors in the last week of May or the first week of June. The Bona rep suggested that the white lines may be caused by the shifting of the floors but that was unlikely since there were no gaps in my floors, or if the finish was not applied correctly (i.e. the stain was not allowed to dry sufficiently before the finish was applied). The Bona rep said he would speak to his manager and would call Mike. I spoke to Mike approximately 1 week later and he said that Bona's position was that the problem was due to Nexs not having allowed the floors to dry sufficiently before applying the finish, which Mike denied was the case. However, Mike stated that he would refinish my floors again at no charge to fix the problems. In order for them to do so, I would have to pack up the things in my apartment again, hire movers, place all of my furniture and belongings in storage, find a place to live for 2 weeks, hire a cleaning lady again to clean the entire unit, and repaint the baseboards (I already repainted my walls and baseboards after the floors were done). I don't feel that I should have to incur the additional costs that would be required for me to move so that the floors can be refinished, not to mention the disruption, for a second time. I have been requesting a refund of what I paid Nex to resolve the matter because the floors weren't done propertly (sanding marks are just unacceptable and Mike insisted that they only use Bona water-based finish and would not apply the Synteco finish that I previously had on my floors with which I never had a problem). The cost to Nex is the same whether they refinish my floors or give me a refund. I sent emails to Mike with my request for a refund on June 21, and July 3, 4,7 and 9 but have not received a response.

This review is past due but I wanted to make sure I commented because my husband and I were extremely pleased with Mike's professionalism and services. His was onsite and always so respectful; he was an absolute pleasure to work with. His prices were the most reasonable we found as well. We will definitely hire Mike when we need more maintenance on our floors!

The workers from Nex were terrific. I left them to do the work on my house. I went away for the week and I trusted them. They did beautiful work. It was flawless. They showed good craftsmanship. They were true to their estimate. They were very personable, which I liked.

They were extremely flexible and easy to work with. They were very fairly priced. I would hire them again.

They were great!! Less than other bids. They did a great job and were on time each day. They also cleaned up each day. They were extremely professional and nice. They were very flexible and fixed some other minor issues on our stairs and in another room that were unrelated to the job we hired them for at no cost. We love the floor and couldn't be more pleased.

Contacted Mike at Nex..left message, he got back to me withing 24 hours. Came to house a few days later to measure and discuss flooring details. Sent an estimate via e-mail within 72 hours. Let him know via e-mail that we wanted him to do the work--it took a while to hear back from him but once we did everything moved pretty swiftly. The wood was delivered about 2 weeks later and they started work the next week. It took about 3 days from start to finish and the floors look beautiful! Well worth all the dust and clean up.

Mike Necs was responsive and helpful from Day 1. He inspected my condo, asked a few questions, and quickly prepared an estimate (including materials and labor). He was incredibly professional and was willing to work around my schedule. His estimate was considerably lower than those provided by bigger flooring companies and all of the reviews about Nex were so positive that I chose them. Mike and his team did a terrific job on my floors. They matched the bamboo perfectly (and Mike brought me several samples so that I could be sure that I would like what he selected) with the existing flooring. They installed the flooring in 6 days and it looks beautiful. They also left the place in great condition.... My painters were coming the next day so Mike and his crew cleaned up all of the dust and left it ready for painting. All in all, I would highly recommend Nex Flooring. They were talented, hard-working, reasonably priced, and very professional. Two thumbs up.

They were able to start the work soon. They dropped off all of the hardwood flooring on a Friday and returned on the Monday 10 days later while allowing the wood to acclimate to our house. They showed up on time as promised each day. They worked very efficiently and were very good at cleaning up before leaving each day. They accommodated our doing two levels of home by completing the upstairs first so we could move that furniture back upstairs and then move out the main level furniture. Moving out both at once would have left us with nowhere to put a lot of it. They also were helpful in moving several large bulky items that my son and I couldn't do ourselves. It is a family business and they obviously take great pride in their work. They put the floor in to last with no gaps and they hate squeaks. You get the father and son actually doing the work. They are super nice and interesting to talk with. They will tell you that their estimate will be the final price, no add-ons later. I cannot recommend the company enough. They are really great. Choose them and you should have no regrets.

I really cannot say enough about the quality of this company; they are true craftsmen and true gentlemen. From start to finish they showed great respect for me and my home and they did a FABULOUS job. There was one problem with the color of the front stairs and they redid them. Otherwise, everything was spot on. They were meticulous about the installation and left everything clean. I got three quotes; two were about the same, and NEX's was substantially lower.

Excellent! The job was extensive and they did a beautiful job matching up the new floor with the existing floor, and making sure everything was done right. They helped move furniture and were very helpful overall.

The overall experience was excellent. I called Nex Flooring and set up an appointment for an estimate. Two days later Mike showed up promptly at the prescribed time. He took all the measurements and stated the installation would take no more than a day and a half. I decided to hire Nex Flooring because they specialized in wood and laminate floor installation. Furthermore, they only install flooring; they do not sell it. On the appointed day for the installation Nex Flooring showed up promptly at 8:00 AM. There were three installers. They set up their tools outside my garage and immediately went to work. They removed the quarter round trim strips from the perimeter of the kitchen, carefully cut and installed the flooring, moved major appliances as required, installed three transitions, re-installed the quarter round trim strips, and cleaned up. They were done by 4:00 PM that day. We ran into an unforeseen complication during the installation of the floor. The kick plate of one of the kitchen cabinets was bowed slightly. In order to cover the curved gap it created, additional quarter round trim needed to be installed. Nex Flooring purchased, stained, finished and installed the extra quarter round trim strips at no extra cost to me. The price in the estimate ($700) was the price I paid when all the work was completed.

Mr. and Mrs. Necs came to my house for an estimate; what a delightful couple. I trusted them immediately and they obviously know the business extremely well. When the estimate I received was very reasonable, I hired them. They were able to come during the week I was on vacation, which was great, though they had to deal with the pet sitter going in and out, caring for our dog. They were very accommodating and wrote out all the instructions for the pet sitter as to when the dog would be allowed to roam the house and when he could not. When I came home, I was stunned at how wonderful the floors looked; even my kids were taken aback: "Is this how they are supposed to look?!" A day or two later I noticed a spot where the wood had "bubbled up." Mike and his dad came out to look at it right away and said it was a flaw in the wood that had been exposed when the floor was sanded. It wasn't my fault, it wasn't his fault, but he came back and replaced and finished the piece of wood at no extra charge on a Friday night! I recommend them very highly.

Super punctual and communicative. Mike is very respectful and accommodating. He and his crew (family) did the work and it's some of the best work I have seen. I only wish I called them to do work at another one of my homes.

It went very good. They were very professional. They did not leave any messes in my house. The floor looks great. It took them about a week to lay and stain the floor. I would recommend them to other people.
