Nex Flooring

Called Mike to get estimates and then had to have him come back because when I did the estimate from 3 companies, one of the other estimates were really different and so wanted to validate that Mike included all the costs. He was very flexible and explained about how he derived his charge, etc. From cost perspective, he was inline with the other estimates and so though I give an A, it wasn't exactly cheaper than others. The job required 3 visits. First was to do some patch work, Second was to refinish the floor, and finally to work on the stairs. Unfortunately for me, my service was during one of the busy times for Mike and I needed to coordinate work between flooring, painting, and kitchen remodel. I rated the responsiveness as B only because I needed to have multiple emails and phone calls for return call to confirm schedule. Once the schedule was confirmed, Mike/his dad was right on time and some times earlier. Explained the job, got the job done, very polite and friendly and therefore it is an A for other scores. If I were to do this again, I probably will confirm his schedule and job date before starting it the work.

We had a great experience with Nex Flooring. They came to our home free of charge to provide the estimate and were able to refinish our hardwood floor within 2 days. We were very impressed with the finished product and absolutely love how well the hardwood floor looks with our new furniture. Thanks Nex!

Mike responded within two days to my request for a quote for refinishing of my oak floors. After receiving three quotes I chose Nex due to their promptness, attention to detail, competitive price, and the positive comments found on Angies List. I was also very pleased with Nex because they were the only company who followed up after quoting the work. The other companies probably thought my job was too small so they diid not follow up. After finalizing a start date Bill the owner, came to the house promptly on the date we agreed, explained the work details, and proceeded to work. In two days Bill had sanded, stained, applied three coats of finish, and installed two flush mounted floor vents. . The work was done on time and without any problems. The work began on Thursday and on Saturday we were able to move all the furniture back in.The floors are so beautiful I almost hate to walk on them ! I would recommend Nex flooring to anyone, you will not be disappointed !

I couldn't be more pleased with Nex Flooring. We recently purchased a frame bungalow and decided to remove an interior wall in a bedroom. When the wall was removed, there was a gap, approximately 4" wide across the width of the room. I contacted Mike via email after reading about Nex Flooring on Angie's List. He responded promptly and came out to assess the damage two days later. He then emailed me an estimate for repairs, which included an option for repairing the area, and another option for the repair and sanding/finishing the rest of the room. We chose to have him complete the repair and sand/finish the room. Mike and his father came out a few days later (only 1 week after my original request for an estimate) and completed the work in one evening. About 24 hrs. later, we noticed that the finish did not dry correctly in the area immediately surrounding the repair. I emailed Mike right away, and he came back the next day to assess the problem. They fixed it immediately and at no charge. The floor looks beautiful and I'm very happy with the whole experience. I'm sure we'll use Nex again when we get around to renovating the rest of the house!

I am extremely happy with the wonderful work Bill did in installig my new hardwood floor. The entire process was painless and very professional. I would recommend Nex Flooring to anyone who is looking to add hardwood floors to their house. It is refreshing to find people who are honest, low key, and have a good work ethic.

It went very well, Pete showed up on time each day, in the morning, Pete would informed me what they were going to do that day and kept me updated through-out the day... At the end of the day, Pete informed me what they had done and what they were going to do the next day. They used the 'dustless' system, so even after all the dusting, it was like if I had not dusted for a couple of weeks... We obtained 3 quotes and Mike, the owner, provided the quote... He showed up on time and took his time to explain all the options to me and my wife..

If every contractor were this smooth and stress-free, the world would be a better place. Mike and his dad did an excellent job, showed up early every day, and finished a half day ahead of estimate. Informed me on all options and issues, and didn't bat an eye on putting down as many stain sample swatches I needed. Even offered to return to help me move furniture back into rooms when the stain dried, but I found someone to lend me a hand. I received an estimate to also refinish some existing floors that came in significantly lower than 2 other contractors; I will definitely call Mike when we are ready to do that work. A+ all the way.

This company is exceedingly professional and punctual and I really enjoyed having these guys work on my floor. The work was very high quality and they went out of their way to make sure we were happy. They provided several options for color and educated us on what our floor would and wouldn't be able to do and what they did and didn't have control over. For example, they pointed out flaws in the wood that were in the grain to let us know what would and wouldn't be able to be buffed out. They gave us four options for colors, too. We definitely appreciated that. If I ever decided to redo my floor I would call them in a second and I'd give them an A+ if I could.

He is dust free as advertised. He is very professional about what he does. He is adamant about being dust free. He was great. He was there when he said he would be there. He gave a free estimate and was very clean. He did a beautiful job. He repaired things that we didn?t even talk about that he just happened to find. The price was fabulous. He put in new wooden floor vents as well and they turned out just beautiful.

Mike and is father could not have been more pleasant or professional. They were punctual and great about communication (phone, email, etc.) from the time of booking their initial inspection through completing the work. Mike dealt more with the business aspect of the transaction. Dad was the craftsman. The work was impeccable and completed as promised. I have already referred them to our neightboors and will continue to recommend them for their craftsmanship, professionalism, fair prices and promptness. You will not regret working with Nex flooring.

The floors are beautiful! This is the most satisfying experience I've had with a contractor. I was dreading refinishing the hardwood floors with all the mess. Mike suggested rather than sand, they could show me what it would look like to just restain a section of the kitchen that needed it, and then apply a coat of the finish. I couldn't be happier with the way the floors look. In addition Mike and Bill were very careful moving the furniture. The entire process took a week. Always prompt and a pleasure to work with.

They came on the day they were supposed to come and finished at the time they were supposed to. My husband was very impressed with how quickly and efficiently they got the work done. I would highly recommend them to others.

Our experience with Nex was a positive one. Their pricing was competitive, and they were generally quickly responsive to inquiries. The father and son team clearly take pride in their work and complete jobs as promised. We had some issues with stairs that had been damaged by previous carpet installations, and Mike was more than accommodating regarding improving the appearance of the damaged stairs. There was surprisingly little dust, and they left the work area impeccably tidy at the end of their work day. The floors look great, and we would use Nex's services again.

Mike and his father are professionals who care and provide exceptional and knowledgeable service at a reasonable price. We had to have our dining room floor refinished in our new home which was mildly damaged. We also had the kitchen floor refinished which was in a terrbile state of repair. We also had a bedroom finished which we had just removed a tile floor to reveal the wood floor beneath but which was in bad repair. The floors look like new! This is what makes Mike and his father exceptional. They are incredibly knowledgable and straight shooters. They will tell you what you can expect after they repair the floor and they deliever. They take their time to do the job right. They will put down several colors of stain for you to choose from but what is exceptional they have opinions of what will look best and work the best. They present the opinions in a professional and knowledgable manner. Further, they stand by their work. The refrigerator had not quite been moved back enough so a portion of the floor in the kitchen was missed when they did thier repair. They came out the very next day and performed the work. Few jobs go perfectly and when something is missed a true professional will correct the situation. I seriously could not be more impressed by Nex flooring. They are the only floor company I would use from now on. As a homeowner who has done quite a bit of remodeling and rehabbing I know a true gem of a service provider and craftsman. Nex flooring receives my highest recommendation.

Mike and his father gave one of the best prices among all the offers. They performed excellent work and always care about customer's needs. Highly recommended.

Most pleasant and professional people to work with. Father and son. Timely estimates, good organization. Good communication. Tidy, no mess. The floor looks beautiful. This project also included removal of the old carpet, install of base shoe trim, wood vents.

Excellent Work. Mike and his dad did a wonderful job removing the carpet and ceramic tile from my 1st floor townhouse. Removing the tile was not an easy task. Installed new wood flooring and baseboards on entire first floor. They are true professionals and take the extra time needed to make sure the customer is happy. Their work is very high quality. They are also extremely neat and take the extra time to clean-up when complete. My house looks like a brand new place. I highly recommend you hire Nex Flooring for your next project. You will not be disappointed!

This is a father/son team with some assistance. The quote was on par with other quotes and we liked that it was their business; no subcontracting. They worked fast. Removed the carpet on the first day, finished installing the floor on the second day, sanded on the third day, stained and applied the finish on the fourth day. They let the finish dry of the fifth day, and then moved in the furniture the next day. There was little dust and the smell of the finish was minor so we did not have to leave the house. They paid attention to a number of issues that were important to me (for example, the flooring around the dish washer). The end result is very nice; we are very happy. It was nice dealing with them and I recommend them.

The price was right and they were willing to work within our timeframe. We did find the quality of the wood and installation to be very good. The problem and our overall unhappiness stems from the fact that not one of the rooms matched in color the neighboring floor. When we asked them to come back and correct the room that was the most aggregious, they wanted to charge us an additional amount even though it was only the one, very small room and not the entire job. We went back and forth and they were going to drop the price in half, and finally they agreed to come and correct the room. The one they had us choose the color that time was much better and that room is the closest match with the livingroom being the next closest. They will tell you we picked the color for the rooms, which is true that the color was chosen - based on their recommendation that it would match. We relied on their experience and were vastly disappointed. I think if they had not attempted to charge us more money and not have been so difficult about coming to correct the single room we asked them to correct, we would have felt better about the experience. I do think they tried to match the color but they didn't. They will also tell you the colors are different all over the house, and our response is they only had to match the adjoining wood. If you want to use them for the install that would be okay, but we would have someone else do the color. Obviously, we will not use them again for anything.

Mike came out, provided a very fair price and made the repair quickly. He was difficult to get on the phone (i guess he works a lot) but once we were able to schedule the repair he showed up on time and completed the task.

Mike was prompt when he came out to do the quote and walked us through the process of ordering the flooring. They started and finished the entire job in an afternoon--staying a bit late to make sure everything was complete. The floor looks amazing. When we replace the carpet in our other bedrooms, I'm definitely using Nex for the job!

Nex was great ? the floors look brand new! Mike and his father were very professional, did a fantastic job, and completed the work on time. My wife and I weren?t sure what color stain to choose, so Mike offered to apply approximately 1x1 sq. foot sample of as many stains as we would like (we had him do 11) so we could see exactly how they would look on our floors. They did a terrific job and we are extremely happy not only with the end product but our whole experience with Nex. Mike was really easy to deal with through the entire process and was very accommodating and flexible with us (refinishing the hardwoods was one of several things we were doing to our house prior to moving in- Mike was very flexible in terms of working with and around the other contractors that were coming through the house and completing other work). Overall very pleasant experience, we will definitely be using Nex for any future hardwood flooring needs.

Nex and his father did a great job and they are very responsive on phone calls and emails. We would definitely go to them again if we need any help on the wood floors. Oh, and the price was very reasonable as well. Thanks, Nex!

We were very pleased with Mike's work. We are going to ask him to come back and do our downstairs floors.

Nex Flooring is fantastic! They were prompt, courteous, hard-working, professional craftsmen, and a big bonus was that they are very nice people. Mike fully explained what the job covered and the company delivered it all. They told me that they strive to ensure the customer is satisfied and kept me informed all the way through the project. As promised, Nex Flooring removed & disposed of all the carpeting, same for the kitchen flooring. They tested all rooms for squeaks and screwed down any subflooring that wasn?t tight. They said no floor should squeak. They then installed the raw wood, hard work but they were amazing to watch. Bill said the floor should flow from room to room, no thresholds. They fixed some kitchen cupboard baseboards that were poorly done, at no extra cost to me. When the floors were all installed I had to decide on the color of the stain. It is very difficult to determine from small little samples so Mike applied large samples of each of my choices on the new floor in the living room. It was easy making a choice with such vivid samples! In a few more days all the flooring was completely stained, buffed, and had 3 coats of eco-friendly satin finish. After the floors had some drying time, the guys, as promised, brought in my furniture. The floors are gorgeous!! I am so happy I found Nex Flooring on Angie?s List. I couldn't be more satisfied with the beautiful results.
