Geoff is very responsive to inquiries, gave quotes quickly. We had an upstairs bedroom that need a bit of remodeling. Had small closet removed and added a new one in different area of room. Wall repairs, attic access door added, dormer ceiling repaired, all were done professionally and within a week. All debri was removed daily and area was always cleaned before he left. After job was completed Geoff contacted us as a follow up to his work. We had a minor concern and he came over right away and addressed this concern. Very pleased.....will use Geoff/Benchmark Design again if a need arises.

Tear out and new installation of water damage to front bay window build out with associated scope to repair and bring current materials and facing to an acceptable level. Easy to do business with ? very professional, I would recommend in a heartbeat. I look forward to future project work being performed by Benchmark Design Build Remodel Inc.

I had a great experience with each of the jobs they've done for me. Estimates were detailed, well thought out and dealing directly with the owner made communication very easy. I'm picky about things most people probably wouldn?t even notice and I made that clear at the start of the project. Geoff promised to be detail oriented, wanted to make sure that I was happy with every aspect of their work and boy did he deliver! He made suggestions that looked better and saved me money - which is very hard to find in a contractor. They were extremely clean and made coming home to a house under construction better than I could have imagined. I couldn?t be happier with how everything turned out and I HIGHLY recommend Benchmark every time I hear someone talk about remodeling their home.

Update from October 2012: Not only did Geoff finish our original projects but we have hired Geoff to do more work (reworking our deck design and making it more functional) and are still extremely pleased with his work. We are hoping to hire him again for future projects as our budget allows!

Our exterior project is now complete and we are working on the interior of the house. We are absolutely thrilled with our "New" house exterior. The difference is night and day and we are very glad we did it. Benchmark was very easy to work with:* Very flexible -- we had several starts and stops due to our being indecisive and the city's zoning being uncooperative * Very good at what they do as well as advising on what can be done -- They know their craft well, from selecting materials to installing, to operating all kinds of equipment * Perhaps most important: VERY RELIABLE --. Despite commencing the exterior project in the dead of winter (the first week of January), they showed up at 7:00AM sharp as agreed no matter how cold or snowy (we are in Chicago). We are very satisfied with the work, the price and the overall experience.

Geoff is AMAZING!!! He has worked for us for more than six months and we can't say enough great things about him. He is honest, ambitious, creative, diligent, talented, and focused. He arrives before 7:00 every day, consistently delivers on commitments, effectively manages his subcontractors, resolves issues before they become problems, and is a pleasure to have in our home. Most importantly he focuses on our best interest instead of his. He comes up with ideas that will save us money rather than increasing his work. He consistently delivers the best quality supplies and subcontractors he can find, even though they may cost him more on his fixed price budget. He has cheerfully resolved the few items that had to re-done without complaining. In addition, he frequently notices that we need something done in an unrelated part of our home and resolves the issue without the nickel & dime charges we have seen from so many other contactors in the past. He has actually built items for us without charging us for his time (shelves, tree stand, small table for a TV, etc.). We are more than happy with everything he has done. The result has far exceeded our expectations. We have used many contractors on many projects in the past and almost every one failed to fully deliver or had an ethics issue before the project was over. Geoff stands alone. He is truly awesome! If you are fortunate enough to get him on your project you can be confident of great things, but be warned: We are not done with our projects and plan to use him for months ahead...
