Anna's Maids

Very reliable, arrives on time and does a thorough job of cleaning. The only issue I have had is that I don't always get the same person, but they have assured me I will continue with the one who started last time. Most of them do not speak English, but the one I had last time speaks it well. There is no problem if I have to discontinue service for vacation and pick it right back up when I return. I found them to be very trustworthy and have no qualms about not being here while they are working.

I had recently completed a renovation of a home and there was dust covering every inch of it. Windows, doors, floors, walls. The day they arrived, they came a few hours early (which wasn't okay as I had my contractor finishing the back splash to our kitchen) and he would have been done in 2 more hours. So they called their Boss (who was wonderful to deal with by the way) and told her they couldn't work in the kitchen. Well, they had 2500 sq ft of house to work with. They also told our contractor that they don't do windows and didn't have a stool to reach the fans. I had explained to their boss that I would not be providing them with anything this time around because we hadn't even moved in yet. I explained, in detail, that this was a renovation cleaning and that they needed to bring their own supplies. She said, "No problem, we do many of these types of cleaning." The only items they brought: paper towels and windex. Long story short, my husband and I came that evening to see what was done. The house was absolutely filthy. Windows weren't done. (And they are the new kind that you can open up and do the outside from the inside). Walls were filthy. Floors were okay. Dust was lining all the fans and window sills. The carpet on the 3rd floor hasn't been swept and all the windows up there were dreadful. The master bath was awful and the tub had marks all over it which I easily wiped off myself. So we had to come back the next day with our cleaning supplies and do it ourselves so we could move in. I'm 7 months pregnant so this was the last thing I wanted to be doing. On a positive note, their boss was wonderful about following up and easy to deal with. She wanted to rectify the situation and send out new girls the next week. I declined. And she didn't make me pay anything. I see that they get great reviews on here so perhaps they were having a bad day? Or perhaps they are not used to detailed cleaning. At any rate, I would not hire this company again. Totally disappointed.

The apartment looks very clean and ready to go. So I was happy with the results. Anna herself was very easy to deal with. Answered or returned my calls promptly. Gave me a phone estimate that was very close to the in-person estimate. Her team did a nice job cleaning the bathroom and kitchen and back porch--everything was as I expected it to be. One thing that I wished would have gone better was that she had two people come for 7 hours total, but they weren't there at the same time. So instead of 3.5 hours, it took 7 hours total. Also, if I were to hire her again, I'd ask if the workers doing my job spoke English. After Anna left, I couldn't communicate with the woman who was doing the cleaning.

The cleaning went well. However, I noticed damage done to the wallpaper, which they sent somebody over to fix.

The team of two arrived on time and did a nice job cleaning the condo. They worked quickly and as a team to clean our home. My only complaint is that they did not return everything back to "normal." That is, some of the spaces they cleaned were not left they way they were found. However, that is a minor complaint and I was happy that the space was thoroughly cleaned.

My apartment was long overdue for cleaning. I called on a Friday afternoon to ask about costs and scheduling and was able to arrange an appointment for the very next Tuesday. Two very nice ladies showed up exactly on time and went to work almost immediately. They moved through my place like two whirlwinds. But friendly, gentle whirlwinds. Two and a half hours later the apartment was transformed. I now have a standing appointment with Anna's for every other week. So far, the same two ladies have come each time. Now that they have cleared out the worst of my accumulated grime, they make my two-bedroom apartment spotless in two hours flat. The cost might look steep at first glance, but the service is worth it. I am soooo glad I found Anna's!

My windows are those that can be pulled down for cleaning but they just do interior cleaning. For these reason I stayed there cleaning the windows and could observe them working. They are nice and respectful but talk a lot on their cell phone while working. They were on time, brought their products and I also provided some. They did not break anything. Overall it was helpful for deep cleaning because I would not be able to to it by myself.

The two women from Anna's did a really nice job of cleaning. We are working on getting our house ready to show to prospective buyers and with two children under the age of 5 it can be hard to keep the house from getting messy. Not only did the two women from Anna's act professionally, clean well and efficiently, but they asked questions when it came to moving toys or other items that were on the floor as opposed to just tossing them into a corner or a place where a cranky 4 year old may not find it. We appreciated the professionalism and will be using them again. UPDATE: We ended up having this service come out three times. The second time, they were several hours late, but didn't bother to call to let us know. We had to call to get a "bad traffic" excuse, which is such a load of you know what, since it was mid-morning, there wasn't bad traffic on the highways and no where is several hours away, unless they have one crew doing the far SW suburbs and then coming to us (far northside of the city). We also noticed before the second visit that they hadn't moved furniture to vacuum and to dust, something that was repeated the second visit. For the third visit (since we were willing to give them one more chance), they were once again several hours late. We called and were told that Anna's had overbooked and they forgot to come by. They promised to come later in the day, so they were technically about 5 hours late. This time, we also made sure they moved furniture to vacuum, but it seems like that sort of thing should be obvious.

It went well, they were on time. I showed them around, and then I found all of my cleaning supplies, and they started. I had alot of dust, and that took a while, They were here 5 hrs.

They did an amazing job. They arrived on time and walked through the home to clearly understand everything I wanted done. I had fired my other cleaning service several weeks ago so my home needed some serious help!. They gave an accurate estimate of the time it would take to complete the job. Then they got to work and I went to work. What a wonderful feeling to come home to a shining, spotless, home. Fixtures were gleaming, the floors were shining, outsides of cabinets washed, not a speck of dust anywhere, bathrooms smelled fresh and clean, amazing job. I have two cats that shed ALOT. Not one cat hair when I arrived anywhere, including my two couches! The detail throughout, including the inside and outside of my appliances was thorough and spectacular. They cleaned areas that no other cleaning service every cleaned, even when I asked! I couldn't be happier with this service and plan on using them for regular service.

I sent a very last-minute email via Angie's List on 2/13 and I received a response the very next morning on 2/14. I moved into my new place on 2/15. They were able to accommodate a late afternoon 2-hour cleaning that same day. Two gals showed up - with cleaning supplies since I had none of my own at the new unit yet - and proceeded to do a basic, but good, initial cleaning of my unit. They were friendly and personable and cleaned what I needed prior to moving in.

They did a very nice job. They were very professional. Their English was great. They asked questions -- an important plus. They were nice and warm people who I enjoyed having in my home

I've used this service twice, with this being my first review. Always great service - right on time, right on cleanliness and right on the money. Although we don't use this service regularly, it is nice to have the place tidied up from time to time without killing our bank account. Thanks again and see you for some Spring cleaning!

Update: I used this service again ($115 for 2 bed/2 bath condo) on 2/1/2013. It seems that in the past year they've made improvements to the operation of the back end of the business. The back office seems to be more organized and well run. I had no communication issues and everything went quite smoothly. The cleaning was just as thorough as I remembered. I'm quite pleased and have set up a regular service. Original Post: The bottom line, the house looked spectacular after the cleaning was done. The two ladies who came were very thorough and did a great job. The only reason I didn't give this experience an A is because there is some room for improvement. I had asked that they use their own cleaning supplies (understanding this would mean an additional charge), but when the ladies arrived, they hadn't been told about my request and did not have the necessary supplies with them. It all worked out because I did have what was needed on hand, but the operation could use some improvement on either their internal communication or the documenting of customer requests. Otherwise, I'd say this was a very good experience. The price may seem a bit high for a 2 bed/2 bath condo, but as I mentioned they were very thorough. It was well worth it.

Cleaned entire house. There were a couple of areas where I had to ask them to go back and clean, but they got the job done efficiently.

The ladies did work at the house for about three hours and they did a decent job. But I was hoping for a more thorough job as far as dusting goes. Daughter was just diagnosed with asthma and we wanted to hire people to do a thorough dusting of walls and windows as well as the normal cleaning. But they worked hard for the time they were here and I would recommend them to others.

Maintain a biweekly schedule of cleaning - overall quality is good. Sometimes, calls to reschedule are missed.

Two women arrived at the apartment right on time. I gave them a brief tour of the place and showed them the cleaning supplies, and they started working right away. I stuck around for a little while cleaning up some odds and ends and doing some clean-up outside. Then I left for a bit to run errands. When I returned I thought they'd be almost done, but I guess there was more work than I thought (we had estimated 2 hours, but it ended up taking almost 3 hours). The one thing about the experience that I didn't like is that when I came back from running errands, I noticed the light fixture in the hallway had fallen down and was hanging by the wires. One of the women saw me staring at it and didn't offer any explanation. I finally asked her what had happened and she deferred the question to her partner who apparently was the culprit (I'm using the term "culprit" loosely as she obviously didn't knock it down on purpose; she was probably more of a victim of the darn thing falling off the ceiling bracket and startling her!). In any case, she explained that she was merely using a feather duster on it and it fell down. I believe that it is what happened (and nothing was actually broken - the fixture can be screwed back in), but I just wish they had been more forthcoming about the incident. I feel like if I didn't say anything or didn't notice, they wouldn't have mentioned it at all. Overall, though, everything went fine and they did a very thorough job. After they were done cleaning, I paid them in cash for the 3 hours of cleaning and that was it!

I had had a cat's friend for a long stay, and the house was full of long yellow hair, sticking to everything. The girls came, asked for the cleaning supplies, and went to work, talking very little (and in Polish, of course). When I saw them next to my desk, cleaning inside the tape holder, I couldn't believe how thorough someone could be. It had never occur to me that that place deserved a cleaning. They stayed longer than I had expected (3 hours x 2 people= 6 work hours) but considering what they cleaned, they deserve a gold medal. The price was related to the time spent, of course, so it was more than what I had planned, but .. it was worth it..

This cleaning service is well above any other I have used. The staff is punctual, courteous, and hard working. The manager worked with me to get a last minute cleaning needed so that I would be ready for unexpected out of town guests. She was a life-saver! I was very pleased with the work that was accomplished and also impressed by the work ethic of the crew. My home is sparkling! Highly recommended!

I had read the previous reviews on Anna's Housecleaning and decided, based on those reviews, to hire them. I was looking for a cleaning service to come in and do a detailed cleaning of my house. I had hired someone in the summer and was very disappointed. I had to spend another hour or so after they left to finish the job that I had paid them to do. The ladies with Anna's were punctual and professional. The ladies that did my job do not speak english but Agnes (manager?) showed up to communicate my needs. Agnes was available on the phone as well to relay/translate any messages to the girls. They worked quickly and efficiently. They cleaned places of my house that I would never think to clean! I have a very large dog and they were not intimidated by him, they didn't seem to mind as he followed them around (they even got his dirty old bowls sparkling!) I was very happy with my first encounter with Anna's and have used them again and hope to use the service on a monthly or biweekly basis.

The woman that owns the business came and double-checked everything. She asked me if I liked the service and what they could have done better. She gave excellent customer service. If you book through Angie’s List, you get a discount the first time. I will use them again.
