Superior tree service responded promptly to our request for an estimate, gave a good price and performed the tree removal. The tree was removed and clean up was good. The crew was friendly and efficient.

I had a tree fall on my house. Superior was one of the places I called for estimates. The Village Forester who came out to see the tree spoke well of this company. We used another vendor, but Jeff at Superior responded promptly and professionally.

Jeffrey was extremely responsive with providing a quote as well as with any communication that I had with him. He gave one day notice before performing the job, as promised. His team did an excellent job removing the above items, especially since some of them (like the hedge roots) were in tight spots. Other than the absence of the trees and stumps, you wouldn't have noticed that they were even there (i.e. no damage to the yard whatsoever). Out of three bidders, their price was also near the lowest, but I can't imagine the quality being any better. I would highly recommend Superior Tree Service to anyone and would use them again myself. We did not go further than the proposal, but based on my encounter with this company and Mr. Greenberg, I was very favorably impressed.

It was amazing,the price was fantastic, they had good communication skills, they were professional and they did the work in only three days including leveling and clearing the ground.

Overall, the work went well. There were a couple of screens that got damaged. The owner told me to have them fixed and then I will be reimbursed. I really appreciated the time he took to answer my questions abo it how to best care for the trees.

Jeff puts a good deal of personal touch on his work. He came for a quote while we aren't needed to be home, then dropped the quote off in our mailbox the next day. He followed up personally after the work was done (quite good work) to ensure we were happy. We had done a great deal of trimming ourselves prior and had large piles of waste, they discarded it all for us as well. Would love if they took credit cards.

They couldn't make it the first time they scheduled it. They said it was due to all the emergency calls they had and they made it back in about 4 days.

I first contacted Mr. Greenberg at Superior Tree Service Inc. in mid-June 2014. He called me back an hour later and asked me all kinds of questions about what I wanted done. When I said I wanted a big tree cut down, he asked me what the policy of our village is and made sure that I looked up forms and information online. He showed up 2 days later to walk the outside of the house and leave me an estimate (just like he had promised to do). We ultimately decided not to cut down the large tree but to trim it way back. The price quoted by Mr. Greenberg was a little higher than another competitor, but they did a wonderful job so we believe the cost was worth the service. Because of his busy schedule and our vacation, we scheduled the work for July 17, 2014. The group of men showed up promptly in the morning and worked for many hours to trim back all the trees. They look beautiful and the yards were clean of all debris when they had finished. One tree was not trimmed (miscommunication between me and Jeff Greenberg) so Mr. Greenberg said the crew would be back the next day to trim the last tree. They showed up the next afternoon and within an hour the last tree was trimmed and all the debris was gone. Except for a couple of minor miscommunications when we played "phone tag", our experience with Superior Tree Service Inc. was "superior". We will certainly hire them again when we need more tree trimming work done.

Superior arrived on time and did fine work. They lifted, pruned and rebalanced growth on the trees, several of which were threatening our roof and gutters. I pointed out a couple of small details and they immediately took care of them. Their final charge exactly matched their initial estimate. I am happy to recommend them and would use their service again.

Called for an estimate. Heard nothing back for a week, so called a second time. They apologized for not getting my original message and asked where I was located. Superior said Mt. Prospect was not normally a part of their territory, but because the job sounded big enough they would come out the following week to give me a quote. No quote that week. Called a third time and they asked what a competitors estimated cost was. Said they could not beat the quote for $850. I realize that this is a very busy year for tree guys, but rather than wasting my time (and several weeks) I wish they had just said they were not interested because of my location. I made a special effort to contact them after seeing their ad in the Angie's List magazine.

They came out today 06/25/14 to do the job. His team was there and ready at the scheduled start time. They were very professional, courteous and cleaned up after themselves. I am very pleased with the work they did on trimming the tree in my lawn.

Used Superior Tree on 2x in the last 3 years. This past time we had 2 small trees and 1 medium sized tree taken down. No issues with with that part. The stump grinding did not meet expectations and we were left with a cubic yard of debris that we had to clean up. Also had some issues with the grinder sinking into the water saturated ground on my neighbors side of the property line.

I received 3 quotes and Superior was the least expensive of the 3. Despite the lower cost, the quality was excellent. They had good attention to detail and cleaned up after themselves very well. I would recommend them.

He did exactly what he promised. They were quick and cleaned up well. I was happy and I would recommend them.

I needed several large trees trimmed on my property. I got two estimates (one from my tree care service and one from Superior after finding them on Angie's List). Jeffrey's estimate was $800 lower. Normally I would be suspicious of such a low estimate but his rave reviews allowed me to take a chance. I couldn't have been more pleased! The entire process--from estimate to finished job--went smoothly and quickly. I requested to be home during the work so Jeffrey accommodated my schedule. His crew was top-notch--efficient, professional and great clean up, including my neighbor's yard where some of the trimming had to be done. I will definitely hire them again for any tree trimming and recommend to others.

We used Jeffrey once a couple of years at my father-in-law's recommendation, and then I hired Superior Tree Service again this month through Angie?s List without realizing that it was the same guy. Both times he came out in person when we weren't home and left a bid at the house, but both times when they arrived to actually do the work he said it was going to cost more than what he had bid. I?ve never had anybody renege on a bid before, much less twice. (Although I see that they did it to at least one other reviewer.) On one occasion it was only $175 more than the bid and they already had their equipment here and we had been waiting for a couple of weeks (and my in-laws were insistent that we go ahead), so we finally consented to pay more than the bid just to get it done. When I was calling for the bid, I had asked how low they would cut the tree. He said between four and five inches from the ground. They left the stump at 19 inches. (I photographed it with a tape measure). I asked to them trim it lower as they had promised and they said that was as low as they could go. I called a stump grinder for a quote and when he came out he was surprised at how tall the stump was and said that he would have to charge extra because he was going to have to bring a chainsaw and recut the stump first before he could grind it. On the other occasion, we had a very large, high-up tree branch extending over the house we had just moved into and we were concerned about it possibly falling in a storm some day. He stopped out and left a quote in advance. But when they came out to cut it, he said it would cost $1500 more than what he had bid because he needed different equipment. They left without doing the work, but one of the crew climbed the tree, walked back and forth on the branch, stomped up and down testing it (I filmed it with my phone). Two days later, the branch fell on the house with very little wind and no other branches down in the neighborhood. It caused $8,500 worth of damage to our roof and just missed crushing my son?s bed.

Team was very prompt and efficient. I had several trees trimmed and they cleaned everything up and hauled away. Yard looks so much better! Would definitely use them again.

They did a great job. He has a great crew and they are very professional. They came very promptly and I am just so pleased with their work.
