The outside faucet and the toilet were easy and were done the first day. Then they needed a part and a special wrench so came back another day. Everything was done quickly and neatly but was a bit more expensive than I expected.
Description of Work: Performed 4 services - Repaired outside faucet that wasn't working properly - Replaced a wax ring on toilet - Repaired a leaking shower faucet (I could not get it apart to change the cartrige) - Repaired a leaking Jacuzzi faucet on tub (requires special equipment)

I called in the mid afternoon when I discovered the leak under the kitchen sink. When I found out the timeframes they had available to come out the next day I realized it would not work for our schedules. We were going to need to have them come the next evening (and pay overtime rates) but the person I spoke with mentioned that they currently had a plumber in a nearby town finishing up a job who could get to my house in about 20 minutes and they would not charge overtime rate (usually would be charged after 4pm, which this was going to be). Joseph Jr. and another plumber arrived immediately and they found the leak from the disposal. It was very old and had already been repaired once before so had to be replaced. He told me he had a unit in the truck and what the cost would be. However, he also was very honest and gave me the option to go purchase one ourselves and then when they came back to install it would charge the time as a continuation rather than the more expensive 1st half hour. For our convenience, we decided to go with the one they had and have them install it right away. They were the cleanest, most polite and professional plumbers I've ever seen. There was nothing for me to clean up when they left. We have used plumbers in the past that may have been a little bit lower in cost, but will definitely use Pasquesi again in the future.
Description of Work: We had a leak under the kitchen sink which they determined to be a leak from the garbage disposal. We ended up replacing the disposal.

See above. You gotta be kidding, Pasquesi! What a mess! The reputable HVAC company that I hired after this mess said the trouble with the system was so obvious anyone should've seen it.
Description of Work: We called Pasquesi to come gives us an estimate on some HVAC work. The office was fine to deal with but the tech who showed up was on his phone to someone else the whole time. We asked him about what we wanted an estimate on and also how much a system inspection would cost. He said they would fax to us. Never got an estimate. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL: 2 weeks later the office called to get my address to bill me for this guy's time. They alleged he'd done an inspection but all had been OK so no further work required. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL: The system shortly broke down and required $1,000 in repairs. So much for that "inspection" that they did, huh?

George was on time and did his usual quick and efficient job. He's cheerful and pleasant to be around. The work took 4 hours in total. I think that the company is a bit expensive but the positive experience is worth it. I will use them next time I need a plumber.
Description of Work: I have used Pasquesi before and I know that they do a great job. George fixed problems with 3 toilets and my kitchen faucet. He also installed two new faucets, bath hardware and a shower head in the master bath. Finally, he checked my washer/dryer for a possible gas leak.

I had some water back up in the basement during a recent heavy rain. I called and they gave me an appointment for the next day. A little later they called me back and said someone was available to come out immediately. Turned out the ejector pump had died and the sewer line was clogged with roots. The line was rodded and a new pump installed same day. Haven't had any heavy rains since then, so the work hasn't really been tested yet. The employee who did the work seemed knowledgeable and competent, explained everything carefully to me. I've had work done by Pasquesi before and have always been satisfied.

Vito arrived within 10 min. of the scheduled time and went right to work on the RPZ valve. Due to my lengthy hospitalization this year I had not installed the RPZ so this year we watered our lawn with a sprinkler hose and the rain did the rest However, the village warned me that the Illinois state building code requires annual inspection and testing of RPZ valves in underground sprinkler systems whether or not they are connected and in use. (They water department warned me also that not doing so results in a substantial fine and possibly having water supply turned off. It also had to be done and the inspection filed by October 31.) (RPZ valves are not cheap, they carry only a one year warranty and the charges for these inspections, though required by law, are not tax deductible.) Thus the only things inevitable are death, taxes, and annual RPZ valve inspections (Unless you never have underground sprinklers installed in the first place). Vito also found a cracked ball valve and replaced it. Because this year, as mentioned earlier, I was physically unable to install it myself, VIto had to install the RPZ, do the necessary procedures required in the inspection, and, because it was the last of October, disconnect it. Also, because we had had a heavy overnight rain which ended shortly before he came, he had to work on wet, muddy ground but was pleasant throughout, and very informative about the inspection steps; in other words, he was very professional and I would certainly want to use him again for other plumbing jobs. My only regret is that I was in a hurry to get the job done before the October 31 deadline so I called plumbers from the phone book without checking Angie's List as I normally do so I paid the full (reasonable) price, not realizing until now that Pasquesi also has a 10% off coupon for Angie's List members.

Gas company discovered code violation when responding to a natural gas leak in basement: previous owner had installed a copper pipe running through the foundation wall and the concrete slab on which the laundry room was built. A new natural gas line was required. The gas company disconnected the dryer line until the changes could be made. As the furnace was still connected, the problem was not an emergency. Called on a Friday after the gas company left and John Paquesi scheduled to come out and provide an estimate the following Monday, which he did. At the end of the next day (Tuesday), I had not yet received a copy of the estimate, so I called the office and they returned my call, promising to send me the estimate (via e-mail) the following morning, which they did. This delay for the estimate is the reason for their receiving a "B" in promptness, otherwise all communications were prompt. On Wednesday, I discussed the job with John Pasquesi and queried whether the job would require permitting and inspection by the village. He did not know, but said that he would inquire and get back to me. John got back to me later that day and indicated that, yes the job would require a permit and an inspection and that he would handle that, should I decide to go with him. I chose Pasquesi based on price from the other two vendors involved. One vendor, who I have used in the past to do emergency work in my house, did not follow-up with my call for an estimate, so that eliminated them from contention (and from further work at my house). The second vendor was VERY prompt, providing an estimate same day and being able to start very quickly. However, their initial bid was nearly double Pasquesi's (1700 vs, 950). Given their promptness and ability to start soon, I gave the other vendor a shot at meeting the price I was given and getting the business (normally, I would not do this, I like to award business based on first bid with competitor's being unaware of each other's bids); however, they wouldn't go lower than 1200 + permit costs (~100). Additionally, the solutions proposed were identical (without prompting). So, Pasquesi won out. Day before the job came and office called to indicate that they would need to start work an hour later than initial start time of 7:30 am. No concerns with me - this moved their promptness grade back to "A". Job day came and John arrived with Andre, the plumber who would do the job. They arrived on time. Andre was young but very sharp. He worked from arrival, stopping only for a brief lunch. Andre was very pleasant, answered all of my questions and did a quick and efficient job with the work, including sealing up around my dryer vent with the extra caulk he had left in his tube. Inspection was the following day, John arrived with the inspector promptly at 11:00 and the inspection lasted 10 minutes, ended with approval and I paid John the other half owed. Outstanding and very pleasant.
Description of Work: Ran black steel natural gas line from old supply location in basement through crawl space to house exterior along exterior concrete foundation and then up and back into house through exterior wall to laundry room and established new hookup for natural gas dryer. Also: pulled permit with Village, arranged follow-up inspection and was present for inspection.

They had a plumber over here within a couple hours, which was better than we had expected, given that we called at about 8:00 on a Friday morning. The plumber spent about and hour and 45 minutes here, checking the faucet, the hot and cold lines to the faucet, the main water service valve in the basement, etc. Ultimately, he traced the acute problem (no flow) to a failed part the faucet, and replaced that small part (a seat?). However, he mentioned that a larger problem that probably contributed to the faucet failure was the ancient galvanized horizontal pipes in our basement. We've actually known/suspected for some time that we would need to replace those pipes - particularly the hot water lines - so that was no surprise. Overall, it went well. The plumber was very nice, and was clearly not out to sell us a bigger repair than we needed. The only problem with the whole experience came later in the day, long after the guy left, when we discovered a small leak under the kitchen sink. This was Friday evening, after hours, and when we tried to reach the office we got no answer. No voice mail, no answering service or anything. We tried each of the company's four phone numbers multiple times, to no avail. However, when we tried Saturday morning (even though the office was closed), someone answered, and he had the plumber over here within about 90 minutes to correct the problem. The plumber told us that Pasquesi had an answering service to handle emergency calls, and he was surprised to learn that we couldn't get through. Either someone forgot to forward the lines or the service fell down. Who knows? In any case, we were pleased overall. The pipe tightening glitch / leak is the only reason we give them a B instead of an A.
Description of Work: The water pressure in our kitchen faucet has been slowly getting worse over that past year or so. Then, one morning we had virtually no flow at all, and called Pasquesi.

I called in the evening on December 23rd after we found a break in a water pipe in the crawl space under our living room (and after I turned off the water to the house). The operator informed me the company was open for regular business on Dec 24th, so I called that morning. The receptionist asked me if between 12-2pm was okay and we agreed. They then called at 8:45 to say there was an opening at 9:00 and the plumber would be over if it was acceptable. He showed up promptly with shoe covers and went to work immediately determining where the pipe break was. After isolating the pipe he turned the water back on and let me know the shutoff valve needed to be replaced as well as the pipe. We discussed the options and determined the best time to correct the problem was in the Spring when we could shut off the water to the house at the main and correct both problems. He was at all times extremely courteous and professional. There was no mess and he left the area clean. Total time was 35 minutes.

Clogged sink...fixed! I called and spoke with someone in the office, who set up an appointment for the plumber to come out. It was to be two days later, but they called the next morning and said someone was in the area. He came 20 minutes later, explained what he was doing and answered my questions, fixed the problem, and left. The only confusion came the next day, when another plumber showed up because the office apparently had not communicated that they had sent someone else the day before.
Description of Work: I had a clogged sink drain. They came out the next day and rodded and fixed the problem. The serviceman also gave me a tip on "maintaining" the drain.

They showed up on time and asked to demonstrate the leak, which I did. As soon as he saw it, he opened up the faucet and pulled out the plastic tube in it and detected that it was broken. He recommended changing the pipe and demonstrated why it would stop the leak. After I agreed, he proceeded to replace it in about 20 minutes.

I tried to use a plunger and the toilet wouldn't drain. Called on Friday morning at 9:00 and the plumber arrived by 12:30. He tried to use a small steel snake, approximately 6 feet long, but was unable to get the fixture to drain. Called his office and he had them send out another plumber with a full size sewer snake. To avoid damaging the toilet from the much larger and more aggressive snake, the first plumber removed the toilet while we waited for the second plumber to arrive with the snake. The two plumbers put down drop cloths from the front door all the way upstairs to the bathroom. They also covered the walls around the toilet with plastic. They snaked the drain and found the blockage 20 to 25 feet down the drain pipe. They reset the toilet and cleaned the fixture and the surrounding area completely. This toilet had overflowed almost exactly one year before, and caused over $8,000.00 damage to the dining room below. I thought their price very fair considering the amount of work that they did. They were both extremely courteous and professional. These guys know what they're doing. I would definitely call them again. I gave them the coupon and they deducted 10% from the bill.

Front desk person was very friendly and professional. This is the first time I've ever felt a measure of control in setting up a plumbing appointment (of course, it wasn't an emergency, which helps). I was able to select the day my spouse would be at home and was given a number of time slots that were convenient and not overly long (I chose the 8-10 slot). Plumber arrived a little early (v. refreshing), examined the leaking pipe in the basement and determined that a clamp would suffice to solve the problem. He advised keeping an eye on it; and that if it begins to leak in a different place, he will need to return to replace the length of pipe. Then he checked into the low pressure in the bathroom sink, cleared the pipe which improved the water pressure. He completed both tasks in under an hour.

My experience with Pasquesi was pleasant from the beginning. They took down my information and then followed up with a call from John who discussed with me in detail what needed to be done. I had a number of issues that needed attention. When the plumber, Jimmy came out, he immediately took his shoes off, a big plus with my light colored carpeting. The primary repair was to replace a faulty shower volume control. I had previously contacted Kohler and they sent me the part but Jimmy immediately saw that they had sent me the wrong one. I couldn't believe it but he had the correct replacement part on his truck. He also fixed two toilets that were not flushing well along with a few miscellaneous items. All this in 1 1/4 hours! Jimmy is a true professional and even though plumbers are expensive he kept the cost way down because he is so experienced and efficient. He was extremely cordial and very helpful with suggestions with some other issues I had. He came exactly when they said he would. From now on Pasquesi will be the only plumber I use.
