Called after catching several mice. Came out and looked over every inch of my home with me, inside and out. Found the entry point and gave me advice on next steps. Great customer service and I was not charged for the consultation. He walked me through what to do and what traps and products he recommends. We were comfortable handling it ourselves and didn't push me to pay to have them do it. Will definitely call them again if we have any more problems with pests/rodents!

After 5 months of waiting with a new home construction, I had my items delivered from storage, only to find gnats in boxes and one day a few tiny bugs crawling across my bed (my mattress, mind you, was only 3 weeks old). Of course, I had the horrid thought that my items had somehow come into contact with someone's mattress who had bed bugs! (long story with the horrid moving drama). Anyway, having an irrational fear of bugs in general, I didn't even pack salt, let alone any food - well apparently my items were stored next to someone who did. Bill, the exterminator, called me and talked me through my concerns and came to my home twice to try to find the critters and completed a detailed inspection of my mattress and luckily located a tiny critter and advised he would get it properly diagnosed (later found to be a weevils, apparently a little bug attracted to foods like flour). He advised that it was probable my items were stored next to someone's who did have food items and a few of them had crawled into my things (ick). I was very impressed with his detail and honesty and purchased the company's quarterly service for the year. I have been able to sleep in my bed again w/out incident since.

In this day and age it is almost impossible to call a business and have a real live person answer the phone. Not only did a real live person answer the phone but they were helpful too. Bruce Rainey has a lifetime of experience, he grew up in this business. I was under a time crunch to get this inspection done and these people accommodated me. I am thankful there are still people like this around. I would recommend them very highly.

The technician (Brad) called and found out that I had a yellow jacket bee colony that had made an underground nest about five feet from my front door. These were angry swarming yellow jackets that never seemed to calm down. Brad came about 7:30 a.m. When the temps were cool and the bees seemed to just beginning to come out of the hole and he shot a chemical dust into the opening of the hole. They swarmed. when they calmed down he shot more dust further into the hole. They seemed to be almost gone later in the afternoon, and Brad came back one more time to shot the dust as far as possible into the hole in the ground. Looks like the bees are gone. American Pest Control has a 30day callback if any bees come back. I would use this service again, they are fast, knowledgable and efficient.

The technician was rather taciturn but the ants are gone. He offered, but did not try to talk us into, continuing service. The service we had done comes with a 45 day guarantee.

American Pest Control are fine. They're really good about coming back if you need them to come back, in between regular visits and there's no charge for that. We had another company before and American Pest Control is less expensive and do a better job. They're more thorough and if you need something in particular done, they do it anyway, like spray in a certain place they don't normally don't do.

We have not seen any ants or other type of bugs since. Price very reasonable!

Technician arrived early, was very helpful and knowledgeble. Explained what he found and costs for recommended service. Went even a little extra and installed an extra exterminating device in the home close to the active colony.

I called Raney Termite and Pest Control after researching termite inspectors on Angie's List. Raney had great reviews, including several that mentioned his VERY detailed records of previous termite treatment in houses in BloNo. I called him because I needed a second opinion after another company tried to pull one over on me. (See my forthcoming review on First Strike.) (As a side note, I also checked out Raney on the BBB website, which listed the business as closed, but that is not the case, so I contacted the BBB to get them to review and update their records.) The woman who answered the phone when I called to make an appointment was very helpful, cheerful, and quick. The first available appointment was a week out, and I had to schedule one 10 days out to accommodate both our schedules, but I assumed that him being busy was a sign of his professionalism and success, and since this was for a second opinion, I was fine to wait. I'm SO GLAD I did!! Bruce Raney, the company owner, arrived exactly on time. (Actually, he was 15 minutes early, but waited in his truck until my appointment time, which worked well for me since I wouldn't have been ready early.) He promptly and warmly introduced himself before I let him in. (I'm always surprised by workers who do NOT introduce themselves; like I want to let some stranger into my house!) I told him that he was a second opinion for another company's inspection. (They had creeped me out in some unprofessional ways and wouldn't prove there were live termites but wanted me to pay $1000 to abate anyways.) As I led Bruce down to the basement, he said, "I can tell you right now where they found termites." I said, "Where?" assuming he'd done some inspecting outside the house before he entered. He said, "Under the stairs in the crawl space." I said, "How do you know that?!" He said, "Because that's where I treated for termites in 1978." Indeed, I knew when I bought the house six years ago that the house had been treated for termites at some point in the past. Raney, as others pointed out, as records of every house his company has treated that date back to 1960. He crawled into the crawl space (without complaint or remarks about getting dirty, which was refreshing), immediately pointed his flashlight to the old termite damage, shined the light onto the holes they'd drilled into the concrete to insert abatement in 1978 (which the other company has not even NOTICED!), and began pulling off old rotten wood under the stairs to look for live termites. He found none. As I was selling my house and the inspection was required, I was happy to pay for abatement if there were termites, but the other company was not thorough in their inspection and they were shifty, so I didn't trust their evaluation. Raney was the exact opposite. He had records, knowledge, and evidence to back up the fact that there were no live termites. He thoroughly tested the entire basement, including the difficult-to-reach second crawl space, which the other company had not even bothered with. I had my real estate agent present, which I'd recommend for sellers, as it's a small town and everyone knows each other in this business, so they were able to talk through some options more directly than I would have known. Raney provided the termite inspection report directly to my agent, so that she could take it to the buyer's agent for discussion. (otoh, I never got a report from the first company, even after requesting one.) Bruce Raney was thorough, but still quick (less than 30 minutes), direct, professional, helpful, friendly, and honest. He was willing to answer all of my inane questions about abatement, some of them misguided based on bad or old information that the previous company had told me. He knows what he's doing. My agent asked whether anyone else from his company inspects (since this was part of the problem with the previous company), and Raney said that one other guy (I can't remember his name) does inspect occasionally, but I trust that if Bruce trusts the other guy, you'll get a good, thorough, professional inspection from him too.

The serviceperson came on time to the appointment. Put down poison and sprayed some more where he thought they were coming in. It took more than one application, but he came back at no charge. Very professional and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend and use again if needed.

I found them on Angie's List and they have been really great. We recently were overrun with rodents and my mother-in-law was coming so I called American and the technician came out as soon as he could and re-baited things. He has been helpful coming whenever we call and ask for help. We have pets so he is careful where he places the bait so that the dogs don't get into it.

The job was done fantastically, very professional.

They have been reliable, responsive and are always good about coming back if you have extra things you need done. If you notice something they come back to take care of it, so their personnel have been good.

It went great. Tech Bill did a thorough job. First time out & came back one week later. He'll come again in 2 weeks. Then close up studio when there are no mice.

He is really good; and honest. I have never met a pest control person who was so passionately interested in his work. He has been in business for himself for 25 years.

Last year, I was looking for a company who could take care of my mice issue in my crawlspace and ventilation system. The mice ruined the flex tubing ventialiation system I had, and as a result, I had to install new aluminum ductwork throughout the house. I called several local (Springfield) businesses who either did not return my call or acted disinterested in helping me. Then, I heard of American Pest Control and decided to call them. They were able to send a technician promptly and worked around my schedule. The technician came to my house, inspected the crawlspace, the garage, and the exterior of the house and came up with a plan of attack. Since then, the technician comes every 3 months and inspects and refills the bait stations, if needed. Because of American Pest Control, I now have no mice in the crawlspace and the ventliation system. Additionally, I think their prices are very reasonable. I recommend American Pest Control to anyone having a pest issue and/or who lives near a field.

If we have any problems between treatments American Pest Control will come back for free. We have been living here for 20 years and we haven't had trouble since the first treatment we had for termites. Their price is comparable. I will absolutely use them again in the future.

They are doing a good job. There are no bugs and cockroaches in our dormitory. They are punctual, thorough and very professional. I never had any problems with them.

Will use this service only in the future if any pest return.

They are very good. We had an ant problem. They came out and sprayed and we haven't seen an ant since.

I spent $55 every three months. They are prompt and they do a good job. We don’t have any problems with bugs. I have never checked any other prices. I am happy with the price I pay. I would use them in the future.

I have some properties they do quarterly pest treatments on. Their work is great but not the best in price but reasonable. I will continue to use them.
