This was a 4-5 day project. The project was complicated given that all the rooms were filled with existing furniture which had to be moved as the new floor was installed and DR and FR floors were refinished. Nebojsa and his crew could not have been more accomadating and helpful. Through out the project, the crew was thorough, careful, protective of furniture and carpet, etc. We could not be more pleased with the results. As a result of the quality of the work and frankly the straight-foward and personable attitude of Nebojsa we had him come back on a second project that I mentioned above - replace door frame moldings. I don't believe that they normally do that type of work but Nebojsa accepted the project and did a superb job. If you have any wood floor needs - new or refinishing, you need to make sure that you include Kovack Flooring in getting a propsal. As you evaluate various propsals I would be very surprised if you ultimately didn't choose Kavach Flooring. There are not enough superlatives to express our satisfaction. Thye bottom line - you won't be disappointed!!

Everything went off without a hitch. They are timely, thoughtful and knowledgeable. They estimated the job to be completed in 5 days, and it was! They carefully partitioned off the adjacent rooms to minimize any dust and dirt that comes from the job. They cleaned up after themselves everyday. They respectfully answered any questions or concerns we had. These guys are wonderful, and we are so glad we hired them!

We selected Kovach Flooring based on Angie's List reviews and were not disappointed! Nebojsa and his dad worked on our project and were very accomodating. We had originally only planned to rebuff and varnish our floors, but when Nebojsa saw the state of them and that refinishing in total would only cost marginally more, he worked his busy scheduled to accomodate our tight move in date with the extra work. Kovach flooring was very responsive to our questions, punctual (they arrived everyday at 8am and finished at 6pm), got a big job done in 4 days and were just friendly to have in our home. The other thing that impressed us was that they are one of the few contractors we've worked with who don't ask or accept a deposit and wait until the client is happy with the results. For us, that spoke to the pride and confidence they have in their work. We would definitely recommend Kovach to others (in fact, we already have!) and wouldn't hesitate to use them again ourselves. From what we know about the quality of their work product though, we likely won't have to refinish our floors again for another 10-15 years!

I had an excellent experience with this small company, and I interacted with Nebojsa and his father, who I believe are the company. I was very impressed with their responsiveness, they answered quickly, came by and gave me an estimate almost immediately, discussed various options with me. I mentioned that I did not want to have the furniture moved separately and I needed their help and while clearly that was not in their business model, their did their very best to accommodate me, they came with an extra person that day, and Nebojsa showed up after the floor cured to help me move it back. They did their work well within time and money estimate, and were eager to do a good job efficiently and quickly. The price was fair for the job, and when -- after the job started -- I mentioned I would have liked a few of the stairs done as well -- they just went ahead and did them, essentially asking me for no extra costs. They REALLY want to leave their customer happy and have people think highly of their work. Two months later, the floor looks great -- as it did then as well -- and so far holds very well.

OUTSTANDING! I have used many floor companies over the years and these guys were incredible. Very professional, very flexible, and they did everything to make the job perfect. There were many extra details I didn't know to ask for but they did them for no additional charge to make the job perfect. As for the price they were far more competitive than 2 other A graded companies I got quotes from. I would highly recommend them.

Always on time! They installed the new laminated floors in 2 days just like promised. They took great care of the floors and make sure to do everything to protect the floors from scratch's. They also installed the T-Molding's. I will refer Kovach Flooring to everyone i know. Great Company!

In the end, the floors turned out beautifully! They are hardly recognizable as the old floors the house came with. The equipment they used generated very little dust, and they vacuumed up whatever remained. We plan on hiring them back to refinish the oak flooring on the second level once work is completed there.

Overall, everything went very smoothly. Being a first-time home buyer and not having to deal with floor refinishers before I found that Nebojsa and his father were very professional and complete in their work. They offered me a verbal estimate when they came to view the project and when I contacted them to take the job they then sent me a hardcopy quote for my records - whereas the other contractors originally sent a quote because they didn't give me a verbal estimate. I would definitely use Kovach Flooring again and have already recommended them to a friend who is looking to redo their floors.

Within two years after having our kitchen remodeled and uncovering a lovely maple hardwood floor beneath the linoleum, the new finish on that flooring had worn through. Kovach took time to discuss their options for refinishing during the estimate, discarding some as unworkable -- such as filling gaps -- and explaining why even though it might have added to their price for the job. They took into account our requirement of "no fumes", as we have a pet in the household, and opted instead for a durable "industrial strength" water-based finish. Work was performed over long hours during a grueling heat wave. All cabinets and openings were sealed in plastic, and the area blocked off, before sanding. They performed multiple passes of buffing, cleaning and finishing after over the course of the day -- yet didn't rush the job and made sure each coat was ready for the next before proceeding. We're delighted with the results, and anticipate it's going to hold up much longer than work by the previous crew. Rating for professionalism is a "B" only because paperwork for the estimate and final invoice was lacking; we operated on a handshake. Yet their craftsmanship is excellent -- they obviously care about their trade -- tools and materials were first rate. We have confidence in that work and their recommended follow-up (for a final buff and coat about 4 months hence, after this first round has cured).

We had 3 people come give estimates/opinions for the job, and decided to go with Kovach because he seemed so confident in his rationales and plans. Price wise his estimates were on par with everyone else. Kovach works closely with A-American Flooring, and it was quite helpful to be able to actually go to a store and hand-pick our floors. Our closing date was cancelled and rescheduled 4 times, and Kovach was extremely flexible and very willing to work with us. Kovach and his son, Nebojsa, began the project by leveling out the floors and removing the creaks that accompany old hardwood floors. They realized that the walls in our unit were not parallel, which greatly increased the amount of work they had to do (all of our pre-finished wood had to be sized and cut to match the measurements needed). We had a very strict move-in date, and they worked long hours (including weekends) to ensure that we would be good to go. Quality was not sacrificed, and the floors look great! The installation took 4 full days, but this was due to a co-worker being out on vacation, and the added work of the project. Upon completion, Nebojsa took time to discuss with us how to clean and treat the floors, which was much appreciated!

I called Kovach Flooring on a Friday and asked them to come out for an estimate. I told them of our tight timeframe to move into our new house. They came out the next day (Saturday) and gave us the estimate. They gave a very thorough evaluation of the floors and provided their estimate. They measured the square footage and I found out the previous estimate we had received actually said the square footage was larger than it actually was. Kovach Flooring gave us a very honest estimate. They were very professional, knowledgeable and honest. I mentioned that we needed them to start on the following Wednesday and they said they could start on Monday! We hired them on the spot. Each day they worked they came out and started exactly on time - very punctual! They got right to work and completely sanded the floors and replaced the boards where the radiators were. They reused the wood they removed from the dining room in the living room so the wood would match. They then put in new boards in the dining room. They did an excellent job replacing the boards. They next day they stained and varnished. They did an oustanding job. They were very hardworking, even in the heat, and kept their promises. Even though the job proved to be more difficult than they first thought, they kept to their estimate and remained professional at all times. They were extremely professional, friendly, punctual and masters at their craft. They were willing to stay late to get the job done in the promised timeframe. They did an outstanding job cleaning up after themselves. We did not have any dust to clean up. We are extremely happy with our new floors. They look absolutely beautiful. We would definitely use them again for any future hardwood floor needs we may have.

This is our third experience with Kovach and we have always been extremely pleased with their workmanship and attention to detail. They have refinished floors in our kitchen,breakfast nook and family room and most recently they installed hardwood floors in two of our bedrooms. The bedrooms look terrific and Kovach even installed my computer cable under the baseboard so no more unsightly cable. We like them so much that we recommended them to a perfectionist mother-in-law for installation of laminate flooring. She was thrilled with the job and the fairness of the price. I'm moving to a 5 year old house in Evanston that had hardwood floors with many scratches. I searched for several hardwood flooring repair people on Angie's List, thinking that we'd need to refinish the floors. All of the refinishing quotes we received were above our flooring budget. I came across Kovach wood flooring, and Nebojsa suggested that we could probably buff and varnish the floors, rather than refinish them entirely, which would save us in excess of $1,000. Nebojsa and his father came the next day to give us an estimate. They were very nice and professional. They even gave us helpful pointers as first time homeowners. We agreed on a price, and they did the work the next day. The floors look brand new. They are shiny and all of the scratches have been eliminated. One of our friends saw the work and immediately hired them to do similar work at her house. I highly recommend Kovach for superb quality, professionalism and timeliness.

We had our entire house done by Kovach Flooring. Their prices were really great and the quality of the work was top notch. They were always on time and cleaned up daily. My new floor color looks amazing and the stairs came out much better than I ever thought they would. I have already recommended them to my sister and a couple co-workers which also had work done by them and were extremely happy with the outcome. I heard of Kovach Wood Flooring after my sister had her floors worked on by them. They arrived on time for the estimate, and explained what needed to be done in each room, so that everything would match. (All three rooms are connected). Their punctuality continued everyday they came to work. Once they installed the family room and refinished kitchen and dining room all together, the whole job matched and looked marvelous. They covered all the cabinets and closets to keep dust out, keeping the whole job clean. The job was completed on time, with no hassles. I will definitely have them come back to refinish the second floor and recommend them to everyone who needs their floors done.

These guys were a pleasure to do business with. There was no hassle in getting in contact with and getting the estimate. The price was very fair and beat out the other hopefuls. They did an excellent job with the floor and it matches up perfectly with the second bedroom and living room....you can't tell the difference. They even finished ahead of schedule! Can't complain about that! Other than that they were very professional and when the job was done it was as if they were never there. I would and have recommended the company to others and if I get the house I'm trying to get I will be using them again.

I had a great overall experience with this company. They provided a detailed and accurate estimate for my home. They were very polite and unobtrusive. The estimate i got from them was a lot lower than all of the other estimates i had recieved. They did an excellent job with my floors at a more than reasonable price. They were truly a pleasure to do business with and i would highly reccomend them to anybody who needs work done. The company was very detail oriented and made sure that every little thing went how i wanted it. I will certainly use them in the future for any work i need done.

The estimate was done very easily as they were there on time and got back to me the next day. They were very timely when they came to work on my floors. When they finish they cleaned up the small mess they had made and did not damage anything when entering and exiting with all of their tools and materials.

Estimate went well with detail on what was gonna get done. Everyday the workers were on time, they did neat work, and everyday cleaned up after themselves. There were a lot of scratches and dents on the hardwood floor before the work was done but after the refinishing job they came out looking brand new. Very pleased with floor job and would recommend to anyone. My fence also came out looking excellent and couldnt be more pleased that the same company did my painting and flooring which made it really convenient. I would recommend them to anyone for either flooring or painting.
