I had done some research in the past on Angie's list and Yelp before my furnace had a major breakdown. So a few months ago, my furnace did breakdown and I was given a $650 estimate to fix the furnace. Unfortunately the useful life of the furnace was only about 6 months as a crack in the heat exchanger was also discovered and the furnace was 23 years old. The local Lake Bluff company that serviced the furnace over the past 15 years suggested I buy a new one and gave me an estimate. I called Ken at KET and he gave me an estimate for the same furnace for $1,000 less. He also came the next day (Saturday) to install it. I would recommend him to anyone. Great price and job well done!!

Ken's company is probably the most honest HVAC company I have ever done business with. My furnace broke when I was out of town and I called my usual company and they came out and gave me an estimate for $3700!! I checked Angie's list, found Ken called him and for the same unit and Ken installed it for over $1000 less! More importantly, he walked me through a quick bypass over the phone to get the blower unit running and my furnace working until he was able to come out and install a new one the next morning. And...All of that with a massive snow storm looming later that day! Charlie was the guy who came and did the job and he was quick, on-time, knowledgeable, clean and efficient. I wouldn't ever think of going to any one else for anything related to my furnace or AC. The Best!!!!

That’s why I decided to give them a try and their work did hold up to their reputation. Ken is very experienced, responsible, and fair. He holds his whole team up to high standard of work and service as well. Besides providing high quality service, what made me really impressed is that they are so knowledgeable, considerate, and respectful of my cultural background (Asian culture) that even without being asked, they took off shoes when getting into my house to check the HVAC system. Ken was available to come out the morning after I called. He was here a few minutes early and began to take out the old thermostat and install the new one. Since it is a smart thermostat he helped us cycle through the program to get it set up. He also checked the furnace to see if there were any problems or if it needed any cleaning. He took photos of the furnace and showed to us so we could see that it was clean and looked in good condition. He checked what he thought could have been a minor leak but decided it was not. He was here about an hour and 20 minutes. He gave us our discount for being members of Angie's List. It was a good experience and I would hire him again for heating or air conditioning work.

There was a little bit of debris left when the job was done. The work was great, the recommendations were great. My only issue with them was there was a little debris left when they were done, including some sheet metal that was a little too sharp. The clean up was a little rough. I would definitely recommend them again, they were great. They were out the next day, really responsive.

Our old AC unit conked out on a hot day, and we needed help--fast. Ken Thomas of KET took our call promptly, even though he was extremely busy. He did a 90% correct diagnosis of the issue over the phone, and told us he would be over the next morning. He was able to replace our ancient unit with a barely used unit, saving us a considerable sum and giving us a one year warranty on parts and labor. He and his assistant, Mike, were polite and efficient, and were done within an hour and a half.

Ken's great. He came over immediately and clearly explained the issue and then set up the appointment for the unit replacement. He's very knowledgeable and very helpful. He offers excellent prices and we consider him our HVAC guy now.

High quality work provided. The fans I picked out work great and the vents/ductwork have no issues. I even checked the vent status after a big rainstorm and recent windstorm and everything held up great with zero leaks. They kept the roof openings as small as they possibly could and made sure everything was done right. Would definitely hire again.

Couldn't have asked for better! Ken (the owner) answered the phone when I called. He apologized for the fact that he couldn't come out the same day (because he already had appts. with some folks who had no heat), but I was delighted that he was able to come the next day. He showed up precisely at the time he said he would. The leaking thing turned out to be something called a "condensate pump", and it was leaking because it had died, so he replaced it. The humidifier itself wasn't working either (no wonder we were getting static electricity shocks just walking around the house!), and he quickly figured out the problem & fixed it. He looked at the furnace filter, took the front "door" off the furnace, and said that everything looked so perfect inside that we didn't need a tune-up, so he wasn't going to do one or charge for one. He was there about 2 hours. He was personable, and explained everything he was doing. We were delighted, and I will definitely call him again if we need other services.

Was able to replace the bad circuit board with a used one that he had on the truck. Was quick and very responsive!
