Arrived early worked fast and completed the job ahead of schedule

I have used Allscape for my sprinkler system before with no problems, but after today I will never use him again. I called Nick Boyle on his cell to make an appointment 2 weeks ago, appointment was to be from 11:30-1:30 arrival time. I called at 1:50pm to ask him why nobody showed up? I rearranged my schedule to be here and nobody has the courtesy to call? "What's your address"? He asked.... He said "you never answered the door". Of course my response was you were not at the right house, He said yes I was you let us in the gate.(gated community), (anyone could have let him in) I informed him there is a north and south to the same address, and that he has been here before. He said "there's nothing I can do about it now"! I asked why he didn't call to make sure he is at the right address? His response was "I don't have your phone # with me" " Do you want to make another appointment or not"? How unprofessional!! I will never be using him again, he knows nothing about customer service ,nor does he care.

I took time off of work to be home for the two hour window 11:30-1:30 that was offered. At 1:30, I called Allscapes as no one had come by the home. A call back from Nick (the owner) told me that they had written my appointment city as "SC", and thought that was "south chicago" - a city they dont serve. We live in St. Charles - as city they do serve. Here is the issue: 1) Why would they have made an appointment for a city they don't serve? 2) There is no such city as south chicago 3) a simple google search of my street address would have shown them the city, which is in their service area and solved this for them (my street address only appears in 4 states in the USA - easy to figure out). They did call the house at 9:30 in the morning to say: "we don't serve south chicago". But again - I was still at work, so didn't get the voice message until I went looking for answers when Allscapes didn't show up. This seems like the "right thing to do" would have been to figure out what "SC" meant...most likely a city in their service area, and if that wasn't obvious, a quick internet search would have solved it. Nick did give me the option to have them come later in the day or to reschedule. I needed to get back to my job, so I can't wait around more today. I dont have confidence in their problem solving ability to give them another chance. This was a disappointing first experience using a vendor found on Angies List.

They were on time for EVERY appointment. Great quality work. Great followup on all my questions. Highly recommended.

We are pleased with their service; we’ve been with them for quite a while. If we have any problems, they have been very responsive.

I was one of Nick Boyle's original customers. Used him for many years without complaint. However, when he told me I needed to replace my RPZ valve at a cost of $500+ when I knew (though no expert) that all my old one needed was a new gasket, we parted ways. I hired A. C. Irrigation to replace the gasket. It cost me $75 and has worked fine for 3 years and counting. I'm sorry, but he blew it. I do not recommend him.

I have no complaints with the services provided for start up and shut down. I do, however, have a problem with the cost of the shut down service. When I contacted this company originally for start up services, I was quoted a price based on service call, number of zones and a 4" spray - nothing about being in their service area. Since this was in keeping with other companies I contacted, I was happy with this and used Allscape based on reviews I read. Since I was happy with the start up services, I called Allscape again for shut down. This time, though, I was charged an additional $50 because I was "out of area". I was NEVER told there would be any additional charges because I was not close. When I called Nick and asked about this, he told me that I should have been charged the additional $50 originally because they have to drive too far to get to my house. This company did good work for me so if you are close, by all means, contact them. If you think you may be a little far, though, make sure to ask if you are in their area to avoid an additional charge!

The technician was prompt and courteous ? and appeared to know what he was doing. He finished the job rather quickly. Approximately 6 weeks later I noticed that several areas of the lawn were browning out as a result of under watering. I discovered why the job was done so quickly. I found at least 10 sprinkler heads that were buried under the dirt and were not working. Moreover, the system at my home is run by a pump in the basement of the house because the water pressure is marginal in the company that installed the sprinkler system set up pump would be necessary to water all areas of the lawn effectively. This pump was not even turned on. In effect, the technician could not have ever actually tested the system to make sure it was working, even though he said he had. I phoned and a man I believe was the owner of the company called me back. Basically what he said was there was no way this could happen? his explanation was that the lawn and dirt had grown back over the sprinkler heads. All I can say is, that could not have happened given the amount of sod and dirt that was over top of the sprinkler heads. He did, however, offered to send another technician out to make sure the pump was working ? at my expense. This was a totally unprofessional and incompetent job done by this company.

DON'T USE THIS FIRM - COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. I had confirmed an appointment in Lake Zurich via email a week ago to do a landscaping job in Lake Zurich. I confirmed it several times and Nick the owner said he would be there. When I called him after he was 45 minutes late. He acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. I told him I was looking at an email where he confirmed that he would be here at the time we had agreed. He said "Oh - I need customers to also call me to confirm it again," which was never indicated to me. He was rude and completely unprofessional - didn't apologize in the slightest.I love it when people show their true colors early so you can avoid working with highly unprofessional behavior. Trust me when I say there are a lot of good landscapers out there - save your time and don't use Allscapes or deal with this type of unprofessional behavior.

The contact that I had with Nick prior to the job was strictly through email. Through the quote process, Nick provided an overview of the costs, the impact on water pressure and care of the unit once installed. Our soil is extremely hard and has a lot of rocks. Nick had approximately 10 people on the site and were here the entire day. While the cable and invisible dog fence were accidentally cut during the install, the team make sure to check all of the lines and repair them before leaving. Once all was finished, Nick walked me through all of the zones, functionality and care of the unit. A few days after the unit was installed, I reported to Nick that the rain sensors were not functioning. He explained to me what the problem, disconnected the sensors until new ones were ordered and replaced them a couple of days later. His team was prompt, courteous and extremely professional.

They checked it and it was working properly. They were the only ones that would come out and they were good.

The team was spot on time at 8 am. Turns out there was a lot more work than i expected, but Nick was very good about keeping me apprised of what was happening. He ended up figuring out a way to avoid a lot of work. His pricing was entirely fair.

They did a good job we haven't had a long time to use it before it got turned off but so far its great.

The job was done excellent I would use him again.

We are very happy with this service. Our call was promptly returned. The technician was on time and professional. He spotted a problem with one of the heads and replaced it at a reasonable cost. Overall the cost for the services he provided was very reasonable and far cheaper than what we had been paying for a different company in the past.

I found the service fast, professional, and VERY reasonably priced. They charged $200 to cut down 2-12 foot yews, remove the stumps, and haul them away. The second time they came out was to plant 6 smaller shrubs in place of the yews. They charged $280 for this, which included the plants and labour. The plants are robust and healthy looking. I dealth with Joe both times. He was professional and friendly, and he had his crew were quick and thorough. I highly recommend Allscapes, Inc.

Nick, who did the actual service of the blowout, is a very personable and customer oriented individual. Allscape will be the company taking care of all of my irrigation needs going forward.

Found contractor through Angie's List. Called to schedule an estimate. The owner, Nick, showed up personally, and promptly the same day. He walked the perimeter and throughout the yard front, back, and sides with me. He gave me an overview of the operational configuration of 10-12 zones for the irrigation system. He also went over how the system would be installed and operate, providing additional information about a Fertile Earth Feeder (automatic natural fertilizing system) should we be interested in adding on the product. I received the estimate that same day. I was happy with the proposed cost. We gave 1/2 down and job was scheduled for a week after our acceptance of the offer. Nick and his crew were originally scheduled for the 8th, but called on the 7th ( a day early ) after completion of another job offering to do the job a day early. We accepted and he and his crew arrived about an hour later. Nick worked side by side with crew, throughout the entire installation, which lasted about 5 hours or so. Equipment was used to slice through grass and lay the connecting lines; valve boxes were installed in areas of lesser traffic (where possible). All zones were tested manually. Plumber did have to come separately, on Monday, to make fixed connection to irrigation system. Within a few hours of the plumber completing his part, Nick returned with some of the crew, and they performed a through testing of the system, setting all of the zones for proper watering range, cross coverage, etc. We were very happy that they were set in a manner that minimizes any run off onto the sidewalk and/or driveway. Nick went through the operation of the Hunter Control system with us, setting for initial 2 weeks to run every night in order to settle all of the grass back down properly. It is growing back together in areas where they sliced through with equipment, about 60% sealed back together at this point. We also had the Fertile Earth feeder hooked up and fertilizer/bug control liquid fed through. The change out of this system was also explained to us thoroughly. Nick made it a point to tell us that should anything not seem to be working properly we should contact him right away. Also, if we just needed help changing settings on the control box, we could call him and he could walk us through it again over the phone. We have overridden the system just a couple of times since we had some heavy rains and it was no problem setting back to original settings for the every night watering. We will now be switching over to every other night and we are confident things will go smoothly. At this point, we are very happy with the system and look forward to a nicely maintained landscape. The Allscape team was great. They were on time and professional. I would recommend them again. They were upfront and honest about the costs. The only thing that I would say is after we tested the system again after they left we had to do some re-adjusting of where the heads were spraying. We do plan on using them in the fall and I would recommend them.

They were on time and did a good job. Price includes a fee for travel. Seemed a little too much.

Excellent. Dealt with Nick and his son, both professional and highly responsive. We are very happy with the quality of the work!

They did a good job. They went above and beyond for us and made sure that the job was done right. They spent almost three days here instead of one. It cost them money, but they did what needed to be done instead of just doing what they said they?d do. Our yard is now nice and dry.
