My basement flooded overnight and we woke up to the lovely smell of raw sewage in our basement family room. I called a number of providers, but kept getting put on hold and given very long wait times to have anyone out to fix the problem. Then I called 911 Restoration. A human being answered the phone! I explained my situation and she said she could get someone out quickly to do the clean-up. Within 2 hours, Ronnie was at my door with a crew. They assessed the damage, cleaned, disinfected, removed items that were not salvageable. The total cost was half of what some of the other companies on the phone had been quoting me. They were really great, very professional. I'm glad I found them!

Most aspects of this company were positive. The scheduling process was simple and easy, and the owner followed up a few days after the samples were taken, with the test results. However, the technician that came on-site was not impressive. He started off by informing us we had done everything possible wrong when dealing with the mold we had uncovered a few months before (bleaching it when it was in drywall, allowing our brother to paint over portions of the affected areas when he was painting the walls, etc). All true, of course, but I don't believe it was necessary to start off like that. He then proceeded to look at the affected areas and recommended some extensive remediation for the affected areas, and warned that we may even have to do a total home remediation because we had bleached the mold on the drywall. Thankfully we obtained a second opinion, and that company used professional tools to test the moisture levels, cut out a couple of pieces of drywall to verify, and informed us that all of the mold was limited to the surface of the drywall with the possible exception of one location that could be handled with a limited localized remediation that I could do on my own, and recommended doing an air test after we had removed the drywall and let it air out for a few weeks after our roof replacement before contemplating more extensive steps. All in all, I felt that 911 Restoration chose the path of creating fear in order to encourage clients to proceed with expensive remediation services, and for this reason I would not proceed with using their services in the future.

This past winter I did the dumbest thing in my life. I was looking after the unoccupied suburban Inverness house my parents had lived in up until their respective deaths 4 and 2 years ago. Normally, I would check on the place once a week (while mapping out a plan to sell it) but I was out of town for two weeks, at the end of January and the beginning of February, and neglected to shut off the main water valve and drain the pipes before I left my home in Chicago. Needless to say, the Inverness house did not escape the destructive effects of the multiple below-zero Polar Vortex episodes the area experienced at that time and a pipe under the kitchen sink burst and flooded much of the house. Worse, because the flooding continued for possibly up to 14 days, I was horrified when I discovered, upon checking the house after returning to Chicago, that the entire home was infected with toxic black mold. Stunned and in a panic, I called 911 Restoration of Chicago and Ronne Mantzur (Project Manager) met me at the house ASAP. He assessed the damage and immediately arranged for a crew to start mold remediation and flood damage repair work. The damage was so extensive that all the drywall, ceilings, flooring, cabinets, carpeting and organic materials (curtains, fabric sofas and chairs) had to be thrown out. The incident was extremely distressing but Ronne's dependability, friendliness, competence and empathy regarding the trauma of what had happened, significantly helped ease my mind about the situation. Faced with a huge project, 911 Restoration did a wonderful job getting the house back into habitable condition. They decontaminated the place to an impeccable standard and the house passed, with flying colors, two separate mold inspections. 911 did such a good job fixing up the house that when I finally listed it for sale (in "as is" condition) last month, I had multiple offers for it within a day. The house was under contract in five days and sold/closed three weeks after it was first listed. The buyer didn't even arrange for an inspection as it was obvious that the house had been excellently repaired and put back into great shape! And 911 went the extra mile by saving as many belongings as possible, packing them carefully, and placing them in storage for me. Not only that but 911, at some loss to their own bottom-line, gave me a 10% Angie's List discount on the final cost of the work done. Ronne (at the house), Corina (at the 911 office), and the 911 crew were amazingly efficient, honorable, and easy to work with, and made the stressful process of repairing the house as painless as possible. I will unqualifiedly refer others to them and give them my highest recommendation.

They were wonderful and handled communication from long distance (we don't live in the immediate area) very well, texting me photos of samples and they were sensitive to my father-in-law's dementia. They did great work, and were always there when they said they would be. They also worked well with the insurance company. I would definitely call them again for restoration work.

Tech / inspector explained the testing process including the sampling, lab results and next steps, if required. He called back with the results on the date he had promised. Very professional and he had the ability to clearly explain testing process and results.

Their service went very well. They did the initial evaluation and report. We are now waiting to see what we need to do from here.

I called 911 to come out and remove the water and damaged flooring. Thanks to Ronne's thoroughness, he found the correct source of the problem. He wouldn't start the work, until he was sure that the leaking wouldn't continue after they dried up the floor. I appreciated his integrity and professionalism. 911's staff, Juan and David, worked so hard to clean up the water damage. This included moving and removing wet rugs & furniture and the water. They all did an excellent job. Thank you, 911.

It was a weekend morning. So they were very prompt with their response and showed up as promised. Once here, Ronnie did a great job of explaining what they will do, and they executed it to perfection. Pricing was reasonable for the work they did. I would definitely recommend them.

They did an excellent job. First, we had no idea if the leak was coming from the roof, a window at the roof line, plumbing within the ceiling, vents. . .they eventually had to break into the ceiling to find out. Once we realized it was the vent, and we found mold, the company completely sealed off the area with plastic, remediated the mold, left the reverse air machine running 3 days, then came back to remove the machine and the plastic. Then I had a vent specialist come in and repair the vent and once I was sure we had no more condensation, 911 Restoration came back and again completely resealed the torn up ceiling area so they could replaster without ruining my wallpaper and getting plaster dust everywhere. They did an amazing job on that. Once they replastered and repainted, you couldn't tell anything had been done -- it looked like new. I was worried because the curvature on the tray ceiling was kind of tough -- but the plaster experts were amazing. The only thing my husband was a little annoyed about was that they had to add on an extra $120 or so because they underestimated the amount of time it would take to seal everything off in plastic; my husband felt that they had given us a fixed bid and they should honor that. I think they probably would have if I had made it an issue -- but frankly, at this point I thought they had done an amazing job and I just paid it and was glad to be done in time for the holidays. I would definitely use this company again.

Ronne was professional and acted right away. He had technicians in my unit within a couple hours of the initial phone call. He was able to remove water and mold within a couple days and get my condo unit back to it's original state with a couple days. I would recommend his services to anyone needing immediate assistance!! I was grateful for his services!

So, they made good on their promise and were accountable. I only have two complaints: the first simply is that I wasn't told about a change in the proposed procedure until I noticed the discrepancy and brought it to their attention: this affected the cost of the job (the price was lowered) and did not jive with what the mold tester had prescribed. Their explanation for the change was fine, but it warranted communication at the time. Second: 911 didn't warn us that when their air filter machines were turned off after a 3 day filtering period, the collapsed exhaust tubes would allow outside air to come into the windows. This was very important because the machines were off for days without anyone in the apartment, and the outside temperature reached a low of -13 degrees. Frozen pipes would have been a real catastrophe. Luckily, the heat kept up and nothing happened. I own 75% of the blame: my building super, who turned off the machines, should have told me about the open windows. And, as I know with any contractor, I should have been there myself to check out the situation when 911 completed their work (and the filters were started).

Everything was good. Roy was very timely in contacting us after we purchased the Big Deal. After they found the mold, we hired them to clean up the mold and they did a great job.

This went very well. The conversation I had with their service person was very matter-of-fact and non-sales-y throughout and he was very efficient in setting things up and getting samples to analyze. I didn't get the feeling that he was there trying to drum up add-on work. That's something I appreciate and something that increases my trust in a provider.

I called the provider as they advertised a 45 minute response time on their website for emergencies. Per their website: "When you give us a call you can be assured that we will arrive at your location within 45 minutes." However, after 1 hour and 15 minutes, no one showed and no phone call. We had basically had all the water cleaned up at this point. When I called the next day to get a follow up inspection, they said it was no longer an emergency and nothing they could do to get out except later in the day. When asked about the previous day and not showing up within the 45 minutes, she said they try to do that. It is worded very different on their website - which does not say try, but it says "be assured we will arrive at your location within 45 minutes,: which clearly false advertising. Further, no empathy for the situation and no apology. I would skip them and choose someone else who can be more helpful and compassionate in a situation such as a water damaged home, and also are honest about their services.

Extensive mold remediation. It went very quickly and smoothly. The first Industrial hygenist test for mold came back negative, so nothing else had to be done.

Roy Tzubery was very professional. He came out in a very timely manner, provided a quote and arranged service. Technicians that provided the service were very professional and very careful. I appreciate that they would put shoe covers on so that they did not bring outside dirt into my home. I would recommend their service to others.

They are phenomenal and came right away to assess the damage in my flooded basement. They started work about two hours later. They basically worked around the clock until the basement was fixed. They are coming back to do the reconstruction of the basement. I have a guy named Roy who is the project manager and we are still working with them; they are wonderful. This company is very easy to work with, very pleasing and competitively priced. I know who to call now when something goes wrong with my house. They will help you in a bind and will be fast and courteous; they will take care of everything. They moved everything and did everything. I am a stay-at-home mom with a newborn and another child so we could not do anything. They moved everything for us and were very helpful. They were here early the next day, cleaned everything up and were very friendly.

I received an air quality report three days after the test and Roy followed up that day with a phone call. The report is detailed, breaks down the discovered mold by species, and provides an overview of the health issues associated with a given stain. We discussed the test and decided my mold levels were fine in the rooms tested. I recommend the test for anyone who doesn't have visible signs of mold but wants piece of mind. I tested my son and daughter's room and now feel much better.

It's hard to live in a house under construction but, 911 Restoration made it easier for me. For 2-1/2 days, I had people in my house from 9:00 am till 7:30 pm. The crew manager explained what would be done each day while the other workers covered the area and prepared to work. My inspector showed me great options for carpeting, flooring and wall colors. It took me forever to decide but they were very patient. The guys worked very hard and were very courteous. At the end of the day, Abel showed me what they had accomplished and told me what would be done the next day. He even took the time to show me how to level the doors in the rest of my house. Something nobody had ever said was even possible. This is the 2nd time I used 911 Restoration and I'm glad I did. I would recommend them to anyone. They are good people.

Back in April during a pretty bad storm my power went out and my sump pump failed. I had about an 2 inches of water covering the floor and bottom of the walls of my entire newly finished basement. I called a few places but they couldn?t come out until the next day or two at the earliest. My biggest fear was mold growing down there where all of the kids and their friends hang out so instead of trying to deal with it myself I called 911 Restoration. They came out really quick and conducted a walk thru to access the damage. I felt very comfortable with the owner Ronnie he explained to me what needed to be done and I told him to go ahead with the work. They pumped all of the nasty water out of the basement, covered and removed all of my furniture, tore up the carpet and basebords, drilled holes into the drywall and and also sanitized the entire basement. It took a few days to dry everything out and make the necessary drywall/baseboard repairs but it went by quick!! The best part was they dealt with my insurance so I didn?t need to pay them upfront and they were also able to install new flooring and repaint so I didn't need to find another contractor. The guys knew what they were doing, they were on time and very thorough. I was afraid the basement would have a musty odor after time but it has been 6 months and all is well!! After comparing storm stories with my neighbors they all said the price was great and I have actually recommended 911 Restoration to a few of my friends who have also been very satisfied.

I suffer from asthma and so does my grandson so I always make sure to place filters in my air vents and replace them often. For my birthday, my daughter had 911 Restoration of Chicago professionally clean my ducts, check my furnace and clean my dryer vent. They showed me how dirty the vents were and how to remove/replace the filter on my furnace. During the cleaning, Jr., one of the crew members, found a small patch of mold where my bottom meets the wall. When I told him I had tried cleaning but it never went away, he suspected mold and recommended I call his Company for a free mold inspection. Because of my asthma, I asked Jr. to call them immediately. They got someone to my house right away. The Inspector, Ronne, was a very sweet man with a great deal of patience. He explained that when there is a lot of moisture in a room and not enough ventilation, mold can develop. Plus, he showed me gaps in the caulking which have probably allowed water to leak though to the wall. He wanted to test the area for mold but I didn't want to wait so I asked them to cut the wall and check. I saw them remove a large piece of tile and then saw the greenish fur on the back. Talk about seeing is believing. Ronne sat me down and explained the steps for mold remediation, the length of time it would take, the machines that would need to be left in my house and the cost. He told me I should get a few estimates and sit down with my family to discuss what was best for us. No need, I had them start immediately. Something about this man and the crew that was still working on my ducts felt right. Several days alter, when the demolition and clean up was done, Ronne asked me to call a hygienist to test the area for mold. I didn't understand but he explained that they wanted a third party to come in, test the area and get an analysis from the lab so they could be sure their work was done properly. An unbiased opinion - that's a new one for me. He said that if the tests showed there was still mold in my bathroom, 911 Restoration would clean the area again until it was totally mold free without charging me more. Have you ever heard of such a thing? I think I fell in love with the company. They did a great job and the test results are back - NO MOLD! I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone who wants a job well done. I am having them quote on the repairs. Look forward to writing a review of those services as well.

911 Restoration came when I needed them the most! I returned from my vacation overseas to find my basement flooded from my sewer backing up. My walls already had mold on them because I wasn't home to catch it in time. I needed an emergency restoration service, I found 911 Restoration of Chicago online and they came quickly to my rescue! They were professional, detailed oriented & made this entire disaster like it never happened. They gave me a price upfront and stuck to it, they were extremly fair and it was so nice to finally work with a company that doesn't add expenses later, rather sticks to the initial agreement. The workers were also very professional and left my house clean while working and after they left as well. After they completed the mold removal, I gave them the repair work to install new drywall, carpeting & bring our basement back to its original condition....that's how happy I am with this company! I would highly recommend them!!

Everything went well with the service, and I have no complaints with the work.

My mother suffered damage to her house during the April storm and because we had never gone through anything like it, it was scary. She asked me for help so I starting searching the internet for help. Because the storm was really bad, most companies were busy and couldn’t help, some had only machines taking messages. I finally found a friendly voice at 911 Restoration of Chicago. The rep was very honest and explained that they too were overwhelmed by the storm. They could not promise me when an inspector would arrive at my home but they had a list I could get added to. We went on the list and the next day, I got a call from Ronne saying that he was on his way. He arrived, took a look at the damages, sat down with me and my mother and very kindly explained what needed to be done, how long it would take and what the approximate cost would be. We had so many questions and Ronne was very patient with us. We went ahead with the work, which started later that afternoon. Mom lost many of her treasures, the water heater and washer and dryer had to be thrown out but Ronne and his crew were able to save some of her furniture. The crew worked late into the night and was back at the house early the next morning. It took several days for the house to dry properly and Ronne was over to take measurements daily. We were so grateful to have found 911 Restoration and we will definitely recommend them to friends and relatives. A few weeks later when the shock of what had happened wasn’t so fresh in our minds, we decided to get the basement repaired. Ronne came back, took measurements and again sat down with us to go over the process. We got an estimate to put the basement back to its original shape. Ronne also gave us suggestions on different types of flooring which would be easier to replace should flooding occur in the future. It’s been over a month since we began this journey but we now have a beautiful basement with carpeting in some areas and tile in others. It’s hard to believe what we went through but we’re glad we went through it with Ronne and his crew. Thank you 911 Restoration of Chicago.
