The guys from 911 Restoration of Chicago were excellent. They were on time. They were punctual and courteous. They were professional. It was a terrific experience. They left their dryers because we had a flood which was nice for us.

They pumped out a few inches of water, threw out my beautiful couch, set up funky equipment and tried to keep me from losing my mind. I kept interrupting them with questions and trying to save a few mementos from the ever growing pile of debris. A few days later, the basement was dry as a bone and the equipment was removed. Unfortunately, during the clean-up, the 911 crew found mold on the wall facing my neighbor?s garden. Seems that every time she watered her garden, she left the hose on so long that the excess moisture started seeping through my foundation (guess I have a few cracks I need to fix) and created a lovely little mess inside my home. No problem, 911 to the rescue. They set up a plastic bubble and got to cleaning, vacuuming and everything else required to make my home safe again. I had to hire another company to do what they call, ?Final Clearance Testing? to ensure that they did the work right. Took 3 days to get the results but they passed with flying colors. My basement looked like the skeleton of a very old house. I almost cried. I couldn?t remember how lovely it was, nor how my vintage lamps looked next to my cream-colored sofa. After several discussions with construction companies, I called 911 and asked if they could help me out with the work. They were very kind and sent me a detailed estimate showing everything that was involved. They even showed me the cost difference between carpet and tile for the various areas of my basement. Again, I asked endless questions, compared companies and decided on 911. The guys were great. They came every day, picked up after themselves and were never in a hurry to leave. If I wanted an update, they were happy to fill me in. When they were done, I didn't need to clean anything. I could move right in. The walls were a lovely shade of peach and I had carpeting in only a few areas just in case flooding was in my future. They even helped me pick out a new vanity and mirror for my new bathroom. Yes, yes, yes. If you need help with flooding, mold or remodeling, call 911 Restoration of Chicago. It took what seemed like forever but it?s beautiful. I?m planning a party to show off my new basement very soon. Wonder if the 911 crew is available.

We called for service on the morning of 4/21 and they came right away. Price was fair and work was completed as promised. We had 5 feet of water in our basement and needed debris removal as well as sanitizing. We are extremely happy with the service and would recommend the company to anyone. Very happy customers.

They were terrific. They were here, found the problems and were just awesome.

I know It can be tough to find a good company to do mold remediation. I have tried 2 different places to get rid of the mold in my finish basement but the mold has still not gone away (I still able to see that black dots on the walls and smell that awful dump smell) I google online to try and find another place and I found 911 Restoration. I was definitely nervous about having another company try this same task yet again. I thought I would give them a call though because the site said they specialized in mold remediation, which was very promising. Also I really needed this mold removed as soon as possible for a few reasons, the most important being because of my little boy, I didn’t want him at all affected by this mold, but also because there had been a few tries and the mold still has not gone away at this point. The person that answered the phone said that we needed to have the inspector of that company make a stop at the house to look at what they were going to have to work with. The inspector came to the house and looked at the mold and said that he could remediate the damage and that the crew could get to the house within 2 days. It was great to have the inspector come to the house the next day and then to have the whole process of the remediation set up for a couple of days later. The estimate seemed fair. The crew came out a couple of days later and set up everything that needed to be set up and began the process. Once everything was set up they began their work. It did take a few days, but I’m pretty sure that’s because the mold ended up spreading as time went on and other companies did not completely clean up the mold that was originally on the wall. Once the crew was finished with the remediation everything looked great. I was still a little concerned because I wasn’t totally sure what to expect from this. I ended up having 911 Restoration come back and test for mold one more time. Luckily the test came back negative, I could relax at last. The crew of 911 Restoration mentioned to me that they could clean out the air ducts as well. They said it was up to me but that chances were there would be a combination of dust and even possibly mold in the duct system. I agreed and that was also done by the crew at 911 Restoration. I hadn’t had my ducts cleaned for a few years so when they cleaned them they showed me how dirty the ducts actually were and how they looked after they were cleaned. I also noticed I was breathing in more clean air. I am very happy with the company 911 Restoration.

Would NOT recommend working with this company at all. They had supposedly taken over fulfilling vouchers for air duct cleanings from another company that went out of business. I'm sure they thought they were doing right by their customers, but it was a terrible experience just through the scheduling procress. We scheduled a cleaning and they called FOUR times to reschedule and finally didn't show up to our scheduled appointment. All I can say is this company is extremely disorganized, and clearly does not understand customer service. Their phone representative actually told me that air duct cleaning wasn't a core part of their business and as such, they put air duct clients at the bottom of their priority list. IMHO, if that's the case, get out of the section of the business and focus on your core! There are so many duct cleaning companies out there that I would not bother with this one.

1. had their estimator out to see the problem area in our ceiling. he took pictures and included those in the quote. 2. quote came back and we moved forward. 3. guys arrived at 9:30 for the 8am start (so much for making it in to work!!) 4. within an hour of beginning the demolition, the project manager brought me upstairs and told me he could no longer warranty their work due to the damage in the ceiling. i pulled out the quote with the pictures of the exact same spot in the ceiling and argued that they knew this was the state and still entered into a contract with me. they refused to honor the warranty because of the damage in the exact - not near or around - area the estimator saw. i was told to take it up with the estimator. the estimator told me he had to go with the project manager and that there was no longer a warranty offered. bait and switch. I was also notified that they wouldn't be able to guaranteed the mold test due to the damage. again, bait and switch. 5. while arguing over the warranty, i pointed out that the vents weren't sealed, even though half the ceiling was already pulled down. this, as well as their employees wandering back and forth around the house, ended up causing cross contamination through out our entire unit. they immediately sealed the vents after i point it out. 6. while pulling down the ceiling, one worker kept hanging on the plaster board to rip it off, trying to use his weight to rip it apart. unfortunately the reason it wasn't ripping was because THERE WAS A FAN ATTACHED TO THE CEILING in that spot. I had to point that out too. they kindly took the fan down after that and continued the demolition. 7. during the demolition they had workers back and forth between the "clean area which was sealed off" and the contaminated area. what were they doing you ask? they were bringing in buckets of contaminated insulation/debris to the clean area and flushing it down the toilet. at one point they also flushed one of their rags, which clogged the toilet. in fairness, 911 did have a plumber come out and fix the toilet. however, when arguing over the refund they also stated they didn't need to do that. 8. the real decision point was made when i walked upstairs into the only bathroom left to us and found one of their guys cleaning himself off. washing off his arms, the sweat out of his hair, all the grime off his face - and then drying himself with my wife's towel. right in front of me. when i confronted him about that and the debris being flushed he said he "didn't do it and would never do such a thing". 9. when there was mold found moving up front in the unit, i was told "we have to follow the mold - you've no choice but to rip down the rest of your ceilings and follow it where ever it leads...or we can just leave and you can figure it out". this kind of strong armed sales pitch for change of scope in the middle of a large project is BS. we did end up having to rip out several more areas of ceiling, but the guy we ended up going with for the rest of the work made a point of working with us, not bullying us. we didn't need to tear down nearly as much ceiling as 911 was suggesting and i'm glad we saved ourselves the trouble. Demolition is hard work and they earned some pay for that, but they failed to seal the vents, they failed to maintain the door seal by moving back and forth through it, and were incredibly shady on the warranty and mold testing. Never mind the guy taking a sink-bath. The cross contamination they caused cost me another $2k in mold removal expense. What a waste of money. We ended up using another group which is very well rated on Angie's List and were completely surprised at the difference. It's not an easy process and there's alot of demolition and work that needs to be done, but if you're going to suffer through that pain, do it with a professional group, not amateurs. The funny thing is - the group we ended up using was the same price as 911 and included the additional cross contamination remediation!!

I originally got a quote for mold in my crawlspace in January of this year because there was water in it. The quote turned out to be about $3,000. I later found out that there were cracks that first needed to be fixed. I was told that once we got the source of the water fixed, them the amount will go down. Everything was fixed and I asked for another quote on mold remediation in my crawlspace and throughout the house. The I got another one for $7,500 because now they needed to tear out baseboards and walls because the problem had spread to the rest of the house. I got a second quote and was told that the mold had indeed spread, but if I could take out the baseboards myself and affected drywall the remediation would be much more cost effective. I contacted the company representative to tell him that I wanted a breakdown of the job and cost (of which he did not provide) and to talk about doing the tear out myself, he became upset and said that if we do that, he would have to remove the guarantee for mold because I would probably spread it a affect the rest of the house. He gave me a revised quote, but said that the crawlspace alone would cost $4,500. Needless to say I can't believe how upset the guy go and told me if I had taken care of the problem in January, it would not cost so much now. Although they are willing to let you make 4 payments over 4 months, the professionalism of the representative leaves a lot to be desired. I did not use them and will not use them.

They were excellent. They were courteous, on time and great. It was a pretty extensive job and it lasted for about a week. The whole thing cost me $2000. There was construction debris like pipes and tons of other pieces of wood. They were taking it out of there for two days. Then they cleaned the whole thing up and kept the fans there for two days. I did quite a bit of shopping around before I hired them and their pricing was excellent. It was the only company that was willing to do the job in the crawlspace. I did a lot of research before I chose them. I had 3 companies to come out here and look. A couple of them stuck their head down and said that they wouldn’t do the work. I called probably about 5 others who said that they wouldn’t come because it was a crawlspace. If need be, I would most definitely use their services again.
