Description of Work: Fix refrigerant leak in A/C (internal coil). Unfortunately because of how the original unit was installed, they had to dissemble & reassemble the inside blower unit to install the new coil. They did warn us ahead of that might be necessary and what the additional cost & time would be. System has been working fine since then. Anticipate no problems.

Everyone who I had contact with at the company, from the receptionist to the owner of the company, was extremely sensitive to our needs and highly professional. There was one hiccup after the installation but they were out there the very next day to resolve the issues. We had several bids on the boiler and chose them for their professionalism & promptness. I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Several of our radiators were not heating up. They offered to add a more powerful pump to the system but couldn't guarantee it would solve the problem. Since our boiler was old, we decided to replace it.

Effective Air provides excellent service at a very reasonable price. They are very flexible with their schedule and really try to accommodate me. They were very careful of my property and did an efficient and neat job. The air conditioner has been working fine.
Description of Work: They replaced the air conditioning unit in my 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home. They took the old one away.

They were very responsive and professional. Would definitely call again.
Description of Work: AC was not working upstairs. Technician came out the next day and diagnosed the problem (loose wiring), cleaned and checked the system, and labeled all of our input and output lines for emergency shutoff.

From the start, the rep seemed knowledgeable. The work was started when promised, the owner came out on the first morning along with the rep and installation team. Everyone was very polite and the team cleaned up after themselves every day. The price was very fair and these guys were real pros. The unit was promised to be quiet, and it is. The team went out of their way to address my concerns and gave me options on where I wanted vents placed, along with their recommendation. My only complaint was that the team was late starting every morning (which meant that I got up earlier than needed). Add-on work was priced fairly and this was just an overall great experience for us.
Description of Work: High Efficiency SpacePak airconditioning installed in our 1928 house. 17 vents were put in our upstairs and accessible downstairs. The workers were able to reach our kitchen, which we thought would be impossible.

I WAS RECOMMENDED TO EFFECTIVE AIR BY A FRIEND OF THE OWNER, AND WAS DOUBLY PLEASED TO FIND EFFECTIVE AIR ON ANGIE'S LIST. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY. REFUSAL TO COMMUNICATE WITH ME AFTER A FAILED SERVICE CALL FOR A FURNACE THAT DOESN'T WORK IN CHICAGO IS HARDLY THE MARK OF AN EXCELLENT HVAC COMPANY.
Description of Work: I PHONED EFFECTIVE AIR ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 8, TO REQUEST SERVICE ON MY ELECTRIC FORCED AIR FURNACE THAT WAS SPORADIC IN ITS ABILITY TO DELIVER HOT AIR INTO MY HOME. THEY ASKED ME TO WAIT 5 DAYS FOR SERVICE, I AGREED, AND ON THE APPOINTMENT DAY THE TECHNICIAN DID NOT COME IN THE TIME WINDOW AS PROMISED. I PHONED THEM TO INQUIRE WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND WAS TOLD THE TECH WAS DELAYED ON AN EMERGENCY CALL. IT WAS 14 DEGREES OUTSIDE, AND MY HOME WAS UNCOMFORTABLY COLD AS WELL. WE AGREED THE TECH WOULD COME AND LOOK AT THE FURNACE, ACCESSIBLE ON THE OUTSIDE WALL OF MY CONDO UNIT, DESPITE MY ABSENCE AT A CRITICAL BUSINESS MEETING. I LEFT A NOTE FOR THE TECH TO PROCEED WITH THE SERVICE CALL AND PHONE HIS OFFICE FOR MORE INFO. IT SEEMS THE TECH NEVER CAME, AND MY PHONE MESSAGE TO THE OFFICE 4 DAYS AGO TO ASK WHETHER THE TECH CAME AND WHAT HE FOUND, WAS UNANSWERED.
