Repair person said line in freezer was clogged which resulted in both refrig. and freezer sides not working properly. He said he took care of it, but in next couple of days, the same problem started re-occurring. Added to that, the water dispenser stopped working. I called ABT again to get someone to come back out and had to almost wait 1-1/2 weeks. However, this time the repair person was much more thorough and checked everything. Refrig. and freezer and water dispenser now works fine.

You can't beat the price and service of ABT. We've purchased from them many times before and have always had a good experience. This recent shopping experience was no exception. They have an amazing selection on display. Our salesman was helpful without being too hard sell. He sent us home with lots of information and product sheets that allowed us to further evaluate our choices. Delivery was prompt and surprisingly quick. All phone calls to the salesman were promptly returned as well.

I can't speak to the sales process because I did my own research and found the machine I wanted on line, but I can say the website was well organized and helpful. The person I got on the phone was helpful, and I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of major add-ons;no push for an extended warrantee, and the price for extras was very minor (free delivery in Chicago, $19 for removal of old appliance and $19 for installation of new one). The only thing I was asked about that I didn't get was a $99 pedestal, and as it turns out I didn't need it, so I'm glad I said no. Delivery men were very professional, arrived 10 minutes early, and stayed to make sure machine was level and even checked to make sure the right temperatures were hooked up (as it turns out, I had the wrong colors on the hot and cold so its good that they checked). All in all, very positive experience and the machine works.

I bought a dryer from them. After the first load, I had a problem. The part I needed was on back order, and they ended up replacing the dryer with a new one. The new one had the same problem. They replaced it with a different model. It would have been nice if they had told me that the part was on backorder without me having to call to bug them, but they did not hassle me at all about replacing the dryer either time. I wish I hadn't had to go through the problems I did, but I feel like ABT stood behind the sale and made it right with as little grief to me as possible.

My old, very large window air conditioner had conked out earlier in the summer. Hot weather coming. Another company says no a/c installation for two weeks. I bought the Frigidaire air conditioner from Abt online and they came out to install it 3 days later. They had to take out the old monster air conditioner which had been semi-permanently installed in the window. Since the new air conditioner was about half the size, they had to construct some wooden barriers to hold it in place and to keep out the cold air in the winter. The two installers were ingenious at this and worked hard for about 90 minutes completing the job.

I've used Abt in the past for purchasing and installation of appliances and every time it has been smooth and painless. The time-frame between the order and delivery was only a couple days. The recent installation was quick and painless for me, not exactly for them since this particular washer is rather heavy. They installed the washer, leveled it since my basement floor is a bit uneven and made sure it was working prior to leaving. The two individuals that delivered the washer were friendly and helpful, they gave me a couple tips that were appreciated. Also, for $19 they will remove your old washer and dryer, which if you've ever tried to move one up and down stairs, is worth the cost. In regards to price, they are extremely competitive and willing to work with you. I mentioned I had seen it for a lower price at a competitor and they reduced it well below them, waived the setup fee (minimal but still a fee) and no delivery charge. I will definitely continue to use them.

Great experience, service rep provided me easy information on how I could repair the problem by myself. Wow! They wanted me happy, not the service call fee.

As always, ABT was a pleasure to deal with. If only they had a location in the City.

Abt is great, even on this small purchase I got great service. There is a reason they have been around as long as they have.

Honestly, Abt is hard to beat. They were careful not to damage my walls in the removal of old appliances, and they installed my new ones without a hitch. I'm embarrassed to admit, but I was schizophrenic on the dishwasher. It had to fit into a short space (because the previous homeowners tiled up the edge of the old one, rather than underneath as well). Long story short, they delivered and installed 3 different dishwashers till I was happy with the look. The only thing holding me back from a perfect rating is that you're at the mercy of the individual installers. They're all good and professional but some have a bit more attention to detail and ingenuity. I didn't realize it until the last guy came out. He took great care to secure the dishwasher to a piece of plywood against the wall, so that my countertop installers wouldn't have to drill into the stone. I'm sure the other guys would've done the same had I asked, but I didn't realize securing it to the wall was an option for me.

I am sooooo pleased with the products, pricing, delivery, installation and service quality at ABT. I have been recommending them to everyone I know who is in the market for appliances, TVs, etc. Their knowledge, attentiveness to details and customer service standards are evident. I know of a few companies that could take a lesson or two from ABT!!

Abt is huge! And frankly, it was overwhelming to be in the store. Labor day weekend was probably the wrong time to visit. I was looking for some somewhat in-depth help in choosing appliances, not buying all of them on this trip but buying intelligently so I would have good options in the future. It was a bit of a struggle to find a salesperson who wasn't already busy. Once I did locate someone, I felt that his answers were a little too quick. I didn't completely feel that he had helped me explore all my needs and options. However, when I needed to find him again a little later, he was responsive to answer my further questions. I did purchase a stove and hood. When they were delivered, the delivery was well done, very polite, and friendly. As others have commented, it would have been helpful to know what time they would arrive before the day of delivery. If I understand their pricing, it does not vary with the day, which takes the pressure off having to make a purchase ''now.''

Abt met Sears' $100 lower price and provided superb customer service. I wish they would be able to give an estimated time of arrival earlier than the day of the appointment. However, for both appointments, they called by 8 am to give me a time and arrived punctually.

Went to ABT determined to buy a fridge from them, having had good experience buying a TV and knowing of their excellent rep. Needed one fast. Tried to place order on phone. First sales rep was very helpful, and I tried to get him back on the phone, but I couldn't reach him. Spoke to a second rep who again was great, and again couldn't be reached for follow-up, though I tried and tried. Finally, went to the store, dealt with a third rep, who was great, and then, again, though I tried and tried, couldn't be reached to write up the order, or to tell me if he could match the low price I'd found at Plass. Wd have gone with ABT if they'd matched. In the end, gave up and went with Plass. Great place, but in appliances anyway, sales system too frustrating for us this time.

ABT Appliance used to be a favorite of mine. However, the last 2 experiences that I have had with them have not been the best. The appointment that I made was not honored. Eventually, they did come out, but it took a lot of work on my part. They did drop the price for the service fee. I feel it should have been free. In addition to the scheduling issues, this is the fourth time they came out for the same dishwasher. When I called the next day to confirm that they were for sure coming out, they said I was rescheduled. When I spoke to the supervisor, Tony, he didn't even know what day of the week it was. That is not the best way to build customer confidence. The only redemption for them was the technician who came out to the house.

Great service, great prices. I am a ''several times over'' repeat customer.

ABT called day before Saturday appointment to confirm time window between 11am to 1pm. Repair technician called Saturday at 7am to confirm. He arrived at 11:10am. He replaced two chips that were replaced a year earlier by another company. He completed his work before 12 noon. He was courteous and answered all questions.

They came when they said they would. The repair made the machine work again. It was very expensive for a fuse that might cost a dollar. The repair was done in 20 minutes including going to the nearby hardware store to buy a fuse.

The showroom had most of the washers available. By far, the best selection I could find. The sales person was nice and she really knew her stuff and was quick to pick up a manual when she didn't know the answer. The install was fast and the delivery was on time.

Whirlpool would not process our rebates. ABT went out of their way (after contacting Angie's List, because of some communication problems) to fulfill the obligation on their own, out of their pocket. I m sure this is why ABT has been in business so long, continues to grow, and will be around for my grand children and longer. They do know how to treat their customers. Thank you ABT, and Angie's List.

Overall, the experience was as pleasant as can be expected when your old range stops working unexpectedly and you have to spend close to $1100 to replace it. However, ABT certainly did their part to lessen the stress of the situation. Chris was very patient with us on the first visit, even though he knew we were not going to buy that day, and potentially would not be coming back. When we did return the following week to buy, he was efficient and helpful.

The repairman couldn't have been more prompt and professional. He fixed it in 10 minutes flat. The price seemed extraordinarily high though.

ABT gets high marks for honoring their policy for matching competitor prices! A Toshiba LCD TV was listed on Amazon.com at a price over $700 below the ABT web price. I contacted ABT by their website using their online chat, and they confirmed that they would match the Amazon price, after verifying that it was not ''gray market'' product. When we got to the store, having printed the log of the chat, the salesperson honored the price without question! He was very helpful in evaluating the LCD TV, installing the HD signal leads so we could comparison shop before committing to the purchase. Delivery was prompt. Just an additional hint - if you go to ABT and get a salesperson whom you are not comfortable with, do not hesitate to ask for someone else. ABT cares about their return business.

Abt is really to be commended on the repair because of how the situation was handled. The first technician corrected only half of the problem, which was a new fuse. After he left, the dryer completed one load of clothes and then I experienced the exact same problem again. I called Abt on Saturday and they had another technician at my home immediately at 8:30am on Monday and the repair was completed in 15 minutes. Every one was polite, punctual,etc. And Abt only charged me for the replacement part for the dryer the second time here. Very fair.
