In my opinion ABT is still the only place that knows how to offer exemplary customer service and conduct business - "the right way". Prices are great as well. I shopped and placed my order on-line. Had some scheduling gliches between the delivery team and the home theatre install team. Kelly took the bull by the horns and resolved any issues immediately, and by that evening I was watching Avatar with the kids, on our new home theatre system. Chris the install guy (looks like Eminem) took his time explaining everything to us and did a great job with the installation. Gotta admit - ABT has never dissapointed me. I've been doing business with them for over 30 years. As always - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!

Noticed that fresh food side stopped cooling and freezer side was not freezer cold. Did not think of Abt at first for repair. Called LG customer service number to get their "authorized" repair services in area. Checked them on Angie's List and discovered they were rated "D". Then thought to call Abt and scheduled repair. Upfront on trip plus parts charges. Quick scheduling. Gave window of time and showed up early. First visit diagnostic--no repair. Turns out new-gen refrigerators are a little like computers. Repairman saw ice on wall of freezer side and said issue was the automatic defrost. One of 4 parts not working, probably the bi-metal sensor. Had to order parts--all four--and I would be charged for trip and then for whatever parts were needed. No additional service or trip charge. Advised to power off and let ice melt before next visit. Took a week for parts to come and when informed, scheduled next day service visit. Sensor changed--likely cause of problem. Inexpensive part. Option to change a "board" also. First part likely culprit, but would need a few days to confirm. I opted to allow board change on this visit--a moderately expensive part, but not outrageously so. So far so good. Repairmen (different each time) very polite. Careful to explain what was going on. Careful to protect floors with boards/padding. Put on shoe socks before entering home. Good operation top to bottom, sales to service.
Description of Work: Diagnose and repair malfunction in 2 year old LG refrigerator bought from Abt, but one year out of manufacturer's warranty.

They keep coming out and aren't fixing the problem. They are now telling me that my sleeve is too long on the AC. They keep telling me that I need to buy a new sleeve for the AC. They should be fixing the problem since they are the ones who installed it wrong! Last time they were out they came with a kit and said that should fix it. This time it's that there's too much room behind the A/C. There's no communication! They send these guys out and they don't know anything about it.

Response from Abt Electronics
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused the customer. Every home is different we are unable to diagnosis over the phone; our installation crew must come out and assess the situation. We installed the air conditioner into the customer's existing air conditioner's sleeve at the customer's request. The air conditioner was not cooling because the sleeve was too long. Frigidaire's older sleeves will not work with the current Frigidaire air conditioner models. Due to the miscommunication regarding the sleeve we had replaced the item at no additional charge to the customer on 7/20. Normally this should correct the problem however, the unit was still not cooling. Abt returned on 7/25 and had to remove the Air Conditioner and re-installed the unit. We had to fill in the gap behind the air conditioner to help direct the air entrance and not have it trapped back in. At this time the issue has been corrected and the unit is now cooling.

They were very expensive. They charged $150 just to come out and they were here for 10 minutes. They fixed something that was four months old and I thought that it should have probably been under warranty. They said that warranty was for the parts and not labor. They came fast when I called.

Can't beat Abt for price, service, delivery and follow-up. Selected my products and received quotes from three appliance stores before going to Abt. Walked into Abt and closed the deal in 10 minutes. Told them what they needed to beat and they did. Couple that with free delivery and their great service and warranties and it was a no-brainer. They also said they would hold the appliances as long as I needed and just give them a couple of weeks advance notice as to when I would need them delivered. (my contractor did the installation).

My wife and I purchased a new washer and dryer @ Abt. Our sales person was very courteous and matched a price from a competitor. Delivery and installation were great also. They arrived at the the start of the delivery window which was great. The delivery team did not dent/scratch anything and showed me how to use both the washer and dryer. I will definitely use Abt again.

The refrigerator experience was not very pleasant. The one delivery man would obviously rather been doing something else. The delivery started with having the huge deliver truck backed into my drive and branches broken off of the pine tree at the front of the house. When they were leaving the grumpy delivery man tore the old fabric seal around the house door frame. The fridge had been a special order and my credit card was not to be charged until the piece shipped. I received my credit card bill and the fridge was on it. I contacted the store about why the charge appeared as of the date of the order. The costumer service agent had to give me a call back. She explained that they have the charge put back to the original date once the item ships. I had her verify the shipping date. The item shipped after the period that my credit card closed so they had the charge on there before the product shipped. I didn't pursue anything since the fridge was up and running fine (the freezer light just blew out last night). I went with Abt for the stove because they had the model I wanted for a good price. Once the free shipping is thrown in it was a great deal. I had installation of the new, and removal of the old, oven add. When I checked out (on-line) the charge was an additional $10 over what was listed. The listed price combined the installation and removal as one discounted charge but when you check out on line it charges them separately. I called the store and they credited me the difference. They were good about working with me on the delivery date. When the oven showed up the delivery guys were great. They didn't even try to back into the drive. They were courteous and pleasant. They removed the old oven and connected the new one along with explaining a few things about the new oven. A completely different experience then the other delivery. It's due to these two delivery men that the score for this companies professionalist is not lower. It's also due to having such a pleasant experience with the stove delivery that I would use the company again. I will definitely keep an eye on charges.
Description of Work: I've used the company twice in the last month and 1/2. The first was for a refridgerator and the second for an oven. Both of the old appliances were removed and the new oven was installed.

I had an excellent experience with them. The sales representatives were knowledgeable about the products. They didn't try to oversell us something. They let us know the things that were worth the money and what wasn't. The appliance installer was very polite. He showed up on time and explained everything he was doing. He took good care to make sure the dishwasher was brought into the house carefully. Their service was good. I have no complaints. They are not cheap, but you pay for the service. I thought I got my money's worth. I booked an appointment. They showed up on time and did what they were supposed to do.

They have competitive prices and their salesmen are extremely knowledgeable. The sales men knew intricately every thing about his product and that makes it so much easier when there is such a big choice of items and companies to choose from. We bought a white dishwasher and a few weeks later we decided we wanted to get all steel appliances and so for a small fee they took our new dishwasher back and repurchased stainless steel instead after we used it. I don't know anyone who would do that. It was amazing to me. They were just very polite and very good about it. I had to have them come out and adjust something on that stove and they were out right away. They had good very customer service and customer satisfaction reputation. They were amazing and great about it. I had an older microwave which was only a few months old and I sold that but the other they got the sale of more. I have heard of them doing it for other people too. I don't know what the circumstances are in the other cases but it is quite unusual. The store is amazing. They have chocolate chip cookies and coffee. It's huge and they have lots of salesmen. Each salesman does his own product. They have television and audio visuals and they have salesmen who just do that and household appliances and small appliances done by some other. They have kitchens, anything that you would need in a kitchen, dishwasher, just anything for a kitchen. It's a pretty amazing place. If I was a retailer I would study it because they have a good technique and they are great at merchandising. It’s the busiest place I have ever seen even in this economy.

Terrible Customer Service from Abt that just keep getting worse… take GM John’s advice and shop at Best Buy! • Do not work with sales rep Dan Milojevic, unless you want someone to surprise you with a 10 min screaming rampage unexpectedly and will not let you speak to understand what’s going on. • I Purchased a Whirpool Stainless Steel Kitchen Package, without Install, and paid in full $2100+. • I had a really awesome general contractor, who has been doing my entire kitchen/bath remodel (independent from Abt), and included my Whirpool appliance install. • Since I’m a busy working professional, who has to travel for my job, I hired my friend, a project manager/design consultant to help me manage the project. • On Tues 4/19, Abt came towards the very end of their delivery timeframe 3pm, for a 12-3pm window and said they were going to drop off the appliances. My PM, knew that I had already paid them in full so she let them in and assumed whatever they were doing was included in the prepay. My contractor challenged the delivery guys and asked, Are you installing because I’m supposed to install? They shoved the 2nd page of an invoice that had $429 in Install charges WHICH I NEVER SAW OR APPROVED. The 1st page still said, ‘CUSTOMER INSTALL’ and both pages said ‘DROP OFF ONLY’ It should be noted that they never showed these documents to my PM. • Since I was not home and the PM was in/out, contractor was busy doing other stuff, they didn’t see that the Abt folks did more than just do their free delivery without authorization. They were in/out of my apt in less than an hour and then asked to be paid. The waterline to my fridge and the dishwasher are still not hooked up but they charged me a full install charge of $429 and actually already posted to my AMEX without my permission. What happened next was even worse • So after getting no where with Dan yelling at my PM and I on the phone, I asked for it to be escalated. Several times I asked him to stop yelling at us so we could just understand what was going on. A man named Cosmo called and ‘offered’ to let me pay $300+ as a compromise and that he would get me a rebate for $125 so it would ‘only’ be $175 out of my pocket forINCOMPLETE Install Services I NEVER authorized. • I told him I appreciated his efforts to try to resolve the matter but the fact that I would be charged for something I never authorized was illegal. It shouldn’t matter that they half-installed it since I never asked for the Install in the first place.. Dan sent 2 invoices to my PM (and did NOT copy me). One confirmed that it was CUSTOMER INSTALL and both pages said DROP OFF ONLY’, 1 minute later, he sent her a REPRINT which she assumed was a duplicate which ADDED the INSTALL. She assumed the 2nd email was a resend/duplicate, since there was no notation that anything had changed in the invoice..I was never copied on this email • Cosmo and I finally said he talked to the store owner and he agreed that the only way I wouldn’t be charged is if they came back to UNINSTALL everything and we agreed on 8:30am Wed 4/20 Then it just got ridiculous. • I got a call from someone named John Havasham? Who claimed he was the General Manager of the store. He said they were NOT coming to uninstall the next day but that they were coming to TAKE AWAY the appliances that I had already paid for and they were going to refund the appliances but still going to charge me for the Install services I had never requested. • I told him they kept trying to give me stuff I didn’t ask for and that they were not listening. AGAIN! • After I put him on speakerphone so that 2 of my friends and lots of people at Bed Bath and Beyond could listen, he tried to accuse my PM of authorizing the install when she helped me negotiate for my contractor to do it included in the remodel, he said it was her fault. • He finally came around and said he would not come to take back my appliances and give me a full refund of $429 but that I was never allowed back in the store at Abt and that I would be on a DO NOT SELL TO LIST. • I told him that was gross discrimination and as an Minority Asian Female that he could not limit my rights as an individual. He said because I said that, he was going to put the charges back on there. He told me I should just go shop at Best Buy, said ‘BuhBye’ and Hung Up on Me. ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW! Rudeness, poor business practice, unauthorized charges, is this what we can expect from Abt, supposedly great at Customer Service? Just fyi, I have excellent credit and make very good money as an executive but it's the business practice I'm arguing here. Simply, we should not get charged for services we do not request. Don’t bother, maybe we should all take John’s advice and shop at Best Buy! I will be posting this along with copies of the invoice that clearly state CUSTOMER INSTALL, DROP OFF ONLY to yelp.com, Better Business Bureau, and Angie’s List, and my Facebook page effective immediately.

We call them if anything needs to be repaired. We can trust them. Their prices are fair and very competitive. They have a large variety of choices. The people there are very helpful. It's the place where we keep going back. I would definitely recommend them to all. Sometimes they don't keep up with their delivery timings.

We received an automated phone call two days before service to remind us that Abt was scheduled. They phoned us the morning of the service to give an estimated time of arrival. The service man arrived exactly on time. He had the part with him, installed it, cleaned the area and was out of here within a half hour. Great service.

I needed to replace an old water heater before it went. I discovered that Abt sells a particular brand of recommended water heater. I purchased the heater (and was given a $100 discount even though the sale was over). A two-man crew arrived at my home at the appointed time on a Saturday afternoon and in no time I had a new water heater. What was particularly helpful was that installation was available on a Saturday at no extra charge. The plumbers I was looking at to do the job either didn't have Saturday hours or charged additional for working on a Saturday. In addition, the Abt installers are not subcontractors but employees of Abt. I am very happy with the entire process.
