Handyman Connection of Wheaton

Chris' presentation was A+. He was knowledgeable, his estimate was competitive, he was on time and he responded to all my questions. I would use his company for future work.

All in all, we are very pleased with the work done by the Handyman Connection team under Mike Savegnago's supervision, after having just completed our dream kitchen remodeling job for us. Many thanks to Mike Blane for all the hard work and attention to every detail (not to mention his patience with us when we changed our minds a few times along the way). We are a couple who work from home most of the time with flexible hours, which helped with the prompt scheduling of the different phases, and also gave us the chance to watch everything unfold. Communication was excellent, and we knew the what's, why's and how's at every step. We highly recommend them.

Everything was done professionally and with extreme care. Chris and Jake were fantastic.

I appreciated not do some fix that would only delay getting a new door.

Adrian did a fantastic job. Got all the right materials I wanted and did a great job with quality results.

Bruce, the craftsman, called prior to arriving and quickly identified what was required and the cost of the project. He purchased the new fixture and installed it in space above the sink that is difficult to access. In addition, he was able to reseat a light diffuser panel that required some modification to fit the confined space. Very professional.

Was able to schedule the appointment within a reasonable time, but the person who set up the appointment was unable to give me a quote, even a tentative range. Said the field person would provide quote once job was evaluated on site. The handyman showed up on time. (Unfortunately, I forgot his name, as I've had several Co's doing work on my home recently.) He assessed the work needed and called the office for a quote. Even though I thought it was a bit high, I accepted the cost as I was up against a deadline. He then determined what materials he needed and then went to Menards to purchase them. Once back he tackled the squeaky floors, applying some sort of caulking to top of joists where accessible. He did say that this may not work on all the squeaks, and he was right. I had one that was particularly bad, and it was essentially eliminated. The others had differing degrees of success. He then replaced the light fixtures outside and tackled the screens last. Light fixtures look good and work. Most of the screens were ok, but one was not. I realized later that there is a spot where the screening material is slightly puckered near the frame. Apparently the screening wasn't stretched properly over the frame. This one frame was also bent a little from a previous workman (painter), but he didn't try to unbend it. He said it actually might cause more damage. Not sure if I buy that. I think gentle pressure would work. Anyway, other than that slight glitch, the quality of the work was good. The only real issue I have, is that he did not clean up the different areas once he was through. Also, when working on the screens, he did the work on the floor, without putting anything down first and subsequently got quite a bit of dirt and something from the screens (grease?) on the floor that I could not get off until I used 'goof off', which slightly damaged my floor's finish. ( I was going to set up a work area on sawhorses in my garage, but he said he didn't need it.) A little more respect for a client's home would not go amiss. Even given all that, if I could not find another handyman in a timeframe I needed, I would consider hiring again, but would supervise a bit more.

I had an appointment on thursday 10/01/15 between 3-4 pm for an estimate on a couple of jobs at me house. They even sent me an email confirming the 3 pm appointment with the information of John-the handyman that is coming for the estimate. At around 10:30 am, John left me a message asking if he could come earlier which I wasn't able to check until 12pm. He called again at 12pm, asking if he could come early because he had an opening. I had told him that I am still at the office and that we just need to keep the 3 pm appointment because of that. He said ok and he'll see me at 3 pm. I came home earlier to the appointment and waited for John. However, he didn't show up at 3 pm. I waited. At around 3:45 pm, I decided to call John and asked if he was on his way. He then informed me that he's not coming because his office told him to go somewhere else. I was shocked. I had told him that he and I spoke at noon and agreed to keep the appointment. He said I know but the office told me to go somewhere else and that they'll just call me. Which they never called. This is plain wrong and unprofessional. You do not make an appointment with a client and not show up without any explanation. And if it needed to be rescheduled, you need to do that prior so the client's time is not wasted. This is very disrespectful and I cannot even comprehend why a company would be this unprofessional. I called them a couple of times after I spoke to John and they kept hanging up. I am very disappointed and feel very disrespected.

The estimator came promptly and provided a fair price. He followed through and made sure to schedule the painter at the agreed upon date. The work completed was excellent!

We called and were connected right away to someone who was extremely pleasant and got us scheduled for an estimate two days later. Jake, the handyman, came to our home as scheduled and promised to send us a quote for our drywall work and refinishing of a room in our basement that weekend, but we never heard anything from him.

I had a fairly long list of things we'd been wanting to fix in the house and hadn't gotten around to doing. Finally, I decided we weren't going to do it ourselves and called Handyman Connection. I am very glad I did. The work was done expertly and efficiently. Our handymnan, Richard, was a real pro. I will happily use this service again.

Damage due to foundation movement. Wall moved away from existing wood flooring. Had to remove old baseboard and quarter round and fill gap with new flooring. Gap was irregular in width so flooring had to be cut to fit. Richard was on time each day and efficient in his work. Miters were accurate and the job was well done. I definately would use this source again.

Adrian Plante did a great job. Used his own materials allowing me to return to the store the materials I had purchased for the job. He explained everything he was doing and helped me load the old unit into my van to drop off at a recycle center. I will be using Handyman Connection again!

They were good. I would not say that it was excellent service but they did their job.

The representative Bruce, came to my house gave me an estimate he spent 45 minutes with me on 05.21.15. I received the written estimate online with the date that the service was to be done (05.22.15) & I approved it. He came today 07.13.15 @ 9am, he decided that the job was too much work & that he couldn't do it. It inconvienieced me because I had to rearrange other work in my house to get this done. I am extremely upset with Handy Man Connections & their employee Bruce. I would never consider using them or reccomending them to any of my friends.

A spray foam company had left us with a mess - over and under spray in the garage, and under-insulation and poor finishing on the bay. Adrian came in with a positive, can-do attitude. The job was very challenging due to the obstacles encountered in both areas. His work was very professional and his interactions with us polite and courteous. He completed the job on-time, within the contract price, and left the premises in good condition. We were really pleased with Adrian's work, as well as with our interactions with the office personnel. We would definitely use them again and highly recommend Adrian and Handyman Connection. Thank you both very much.

Third time I used Handy Man Connection and the second time Jim Rohn was assigned the job. As always Jim was on time, proficient and professional. Jim evaluated the situation and first tried to use longer screws to access ceiling studs. When that turned out not to be the ideal solution he went to the toggle bolt option. The blinds are now securely attached and I don't think we'll be having any additional problems. Handy Man Connection is my "go to" company for most household jobs beyond my capabilities. Scheduling is easy and remarkably fast. The craftsmen are not only great at what they do, but are really nice, personable individuals. I highly recommend their services.

This was a four day process. On day 1 which was 1/2 day, he arrived with all of the material needed for the project. He previously matched the stain that was used with the existing trim stain that was used in our house. The same day he stained all crown molding and floor trim. Day 2 which also was 1/2 day he applied polyurethane to all crown molding and floor trim. Day 3 he came to install the crown molding and floor trim. Day 4 he completed the installation on all the crown molding and floor trim. We were very pleased with the final product. Mr. Plante did an excellent job.

Of the 4 repair items to do, he told me to: call a plumber for my faucet leak Never called to reschedule another door repair never called to schedule a re-grout of tile I would not recommend this compnay

The craftsman 'Bruce Bensen' was timely, explained all. He found the part for weather stripping at a nearby Home Depot; went and got it; trimmed it to fit the doors and adjusted clearances such that there was no air leak from the outside. The light fixture needed some assembly [that I would have not wanted to do] . He assembled the required fixture and installed it on a 8 foot tall ceiling. Lastly he changed out the bulbs on the chandelier. He cleaned up all areas that he worked and did exactly what I wanted. I certainly would use this vendor again!

John was professional and did a good job. He knew what he was doing and was very knowledgeable. He was also on time. John carried himself in a professional and workman like manner and completed the job without any issues.

It was great. He was very nice and polite and he did an excellent job.

We've had Jim over to do work twice in the last month. He did a quality job both times and we look forward to working with him in the future.

It's not a terribly difficult job. But obviously you want to take the time to do it correctly and the miters have to look nice. This time they were good. I've used them for a lot of stuff, for three or four different things. They send a different guy depending on what you need. I had a garage door opener done. He did a real good job installing it. When I have the outdoor lights I'll give them a call.
