They did a great job. They were very fast and their quality of work was excellent. I was very happy with their services. They came out about a month and a half ago. I liked everything about them. I liked their follow up. I liked how thorough they were and what they were going to do. They did a great job.

Using Angie's List, we contacted 3 companies to replace a non-working attic fan that had been on our roof for at least 30 years. Initially, we contacted electricians, but learned that this was either a roofing job or a combination roofer/electrician job. We selected Hamsta because they had done a job for us a few years ago and we trusted them to do another good job this time. Their estimate for the new fan and the labor was less than 50% of the other service provider estimates. Initially we were told that it could be up to a week before they could get to us, due to heavy rains and the need for numerous roof repairs in our area. However, within 4 days he called and said he could be there that day to install the fan. He adjusted our old fan (which had been damaged by a collapsed outer protective screening that caved in or was pushed in against the blades) and had it running again within a few minutes. However, we both concurred that a replacement fan would be the sensible thing to do considering the age of the old one. After turning off the old fan, he worked mostly from the roof side, carefully taking up roof shingles and removing the old fan. He inserted the new one, used the same shingles to surround it, and then sealed the flashing in place. He turned on the new fan and tested it. It ran well, and very quietly. This fan is commercial grade and has a much stronger and more protective shield on the outside to protect it from damage. He was done in less than 1 1/2 hours from start to finish. What a difference it has made in the cycling of our air conditioner on these hot days. And we can't even hear it running.

We first contacted the roofer who had replaced our roof in 1994, but found that he was not willing to take on the job. Another roofing company gave us an estimate that included tearing down the full quarter roof, complete with new shingles, to remedy the slight sag in the roof exterior. We didn't have Angie's List at that time. A friend suggested Hamstra, so we called them. When we contacted Hamstra, they came out the same day, inspected the problem, and gave us an estimate. The initial estimate included finding and buying matching shingles for the work area. He was available to do the work at the same time, and so we accepted his estimate and agreed to have him go ahead with the repair. He checked the rest of the roof before he started, and told us he found no other weak or damaged areas. In pulling up the shingles to start the repair, he stated that he would be able to reuse the current shingles, so purchasing new shingles would not be necessary. Looking under the plywood, he found one Jack rafter was not properly attached to the edge of the roof and had sunken down, causing the sag in the plywood that we saw. He installed a new Jack rafter, replaced the plywood, and reattached the singles he had removed prior to the repair. If I recall, he was done in less than two hours. He cleaned up everything, even the sawdust on the driveway.

They did a great job. I got to know about them through word of mouth. They are a family owned company and are great to work with. I recommend them to others. They did great work. They came the day they said they were going to come. They gave me a written a quote first. I had to get it requited and see the differences. They were very patient about everything. I rate them high overall.

The project went extremely well and exactly according to the plan and schedule. We were very satisfied with Hamstra Enterprises and all of the staff. It started with a fast response by Harold Hamstra to our request for a quotation and a meeting along with follow-up calls that answered all of our questions. Roofing samples were provided for our review as well which were very helpful. When we were ready to proceed, a schedule was set-up. Then Joe Hamstra called to advise us of the detailed plan and when the materials, equipment, and work crew would be here. Everything arrived as planned and on time. The work crew did an excellent job and cleaned up well when they finished. The crew's team leader let us know the daily plan and answered any questions. Harold Hamstra inspected the roof to make sure the work was done as quoted and to our satisfaction. We highly recommend Hamstra Enterprises.

After determined I would need my roof shingled really was at a loss who to call or use. Joined Angie's List just to see who was recommended in my area. After doing some research decided to have Hamstra do the job. Without question I made the correct decision. My roof is not all that large but it does have steep angles. The workers were top notch and the work was the same. They only torn off what they could re-shingle that day so no worry about rain. It took 2 full days and they never seemed to take a long break, when they took a break they seemed to do it one at a time so the work never stopped. They brought more than enough product so running out was never an issue. I couldn't ask for a better cleanup as other than the new shingles you would never know they were here. The price was reasonable, I would certain hire them again and in fact will use them to put new shingles on my shed next year. The only problem I had was picking the right color, I highly recommend them.

We called and he came out to inspect the roof area we were concerned about. He went up on the roof and checked it out. He said that all it needed was a repair and not replacement. We agreed on a price and set a date for the work. He arrived on the day we agreed on and performed the work as stated. The roof looks good like it should. He did not try to over sell us work that was not needed and assured us if we needed anything else to just give him a call.

I thought they did a good job. The only thing I wished was that we would have gotten a little more feedback, but other than that, they did a good job.

The response was excellent...I sent a FAX with our request and got a response within 30 minutes. Set up an appointment for the next day. Their estimate came promptly, the job they proposed to do used excellent materials and was exactly the estimate we asked for. The price, however, was $7,000 higher than our middle bid. We chose our #2 bid...got the same materials, guarantees, and speed that this company promised.

They did everything perfect and on time. The price was good too and everything was just great. I am just completely happy. The workers were great and they cleaned up after themselves. They showed up when they were supposed to and were helpful in helping me choose the colors and things like that. They were just great.

It went very well. They showed up when they said they were going to and they were all very punctual. They finished the whole thing in one day. All the employees are courteous and kind. Their prices are competitive.
