Hamstra Roofing

We contacted Hamstra to get an estimate for a new roof. Mr. Hamstra came out, inspected the roof, and gave us a written estimate. The estimate was very competitive. We accepted it. The work was started on time. The workman were courteous. The work was done in a professional manner and was completed on time, including debris removal.

When the snow started to melt a couple days after a heavy snow, I had water leaking from my living room ceiling in three spots. I searched Angie's List to find a goodcompany to come figure out what was wrong and fix it. Hamstra showed up as relatively close to me and with great reviews. They were able to send someone the next morning. The person who came was very professional, spent quite a bit of time clearing away the ice and snow over the area where the ceiling was leaking so he could check the roof. Determined that my roof was in good shape. The problem was an ice dam, which he took care of , including chipping out a section of the ice that had built up along the gutter so that the melting from remaining snow could run off instead of leaking in. An additional reason for my very favorable impression - when I called, the person I talked to asked questions about where the water was coming in, etc., and the age of my roof. When I said it was 8 years old, his response was that I sure shouldn't need a new roof. So, even though it seemed likely that this would be a small job, they were willing to come take care of it. And, the outcome was that my roof didn't need repair work, which I view as a good indicator of a company that's honest. If I ever need roof work, I would definitely contact them.

I wish I had something to tell you other than today is August 27, 2014 and I still haven't heard from them. At this point, we are working with other companies.

We had a leak in our roof and I called a couple of roofing companies to try and find the problem. They came out and got up on the roof to take a look. They thought that it could be the flashing around our tube skylight, so they took the shingles off to check the flashing. They thought that it could be flashed better, so they took care of it. They were here when they said that they would be and listened to my problem, went on the roof and handled their business! Well, we found out that the leak didn't go away, so I called them back to have another look and Tim (I believe that was his name, but it's been awhile since they were here and my memory isn't what it used to be...Sorry Hamstra). Tim came here on his way home from work (a HUGE Thanks for that), and went up in our attic to have a look around and found that the pvc plumbing vent stack hadn't been glued properly and separated, thus creating condensation (Please remember that this is in the attic) and creating the leak. He didn't charge me anything either! I was VERY impressed (and believe me, that's not easy to do) and Extremely Appreciative! I can't thank Hamstra (and especially Tim/?) for their Professionalism and for just being a stand up company! When we need a roof, or actually anything to do with a roof, they'll be the first place that I call. Thanks Hamstra!

They come out when called, are super efficient and friendly and willing to do simple repairs. We will definitely use them when we need to replace the entire roof.

We had a complete tear off and reroof on a 21k sq ft home. Fast, professional, neat and affordable. Only took 1 day.

Hamstra quoted quickly, and squeezed the job in between snowfalls. They completed the job in one day and cleaned up after.

This immediately resolved any issues with the ice dams. We had initially focused only on the areas that were leaking, but because it went so quickly, he was able to remove all ice without any impact.

The repair went very well. Jim showed up, went on the roof and determined the leak problem . A cracked plumbing boot. He did not have a lead one, on the truck. So he went back to the shop and got one. Promptly returned and installed it. Since I was busy, doing yard work. He offered to just send me a bill. I thought that was very nice.

The work was done seamlessly, with little effort on our part. Like having fairies come in a take away all the bad stuff. Great service.

Due to a storm, some shingles had blown off the roof. I had contacted Hamstra Enterprises in the morning while I was at work and spoke with a very friendly and helpful woman. I had explained my situation and also inquired if whoever came out, if they could also check the condition of the roof. She said that would be no problem, and I would be contacted. I received a call from Tim early that afternoon and he advised, that it was small area and could be done right then and that the roof was in great condition. Needless to say I was very happy about that, and Tim was professional and friendly. I really appreciate this company and if I ever need work to be done in this area, I will definitely call them again!

We called them because we were concerned that we might need a new roof. He came out and assured us that all we needed were some shingles to be nailed down that were loose. They are very honest and pleasant. Will probably use them when we do need a new roof if the price is right.

Hamstra roofing was quick to get in touch with me after I contacted them. They kept me updated throughout the process. I was in charge of getting the work permit, but they said if I had any problems they would assist. They recommended a chimney repair, which they did not do, but they recommended another company, and gave them the pictures and my information and gave me an estimate immediately! They stayed on schedule and the roof looks amazing! I have had no problems with the new roof. It even was tested really well with a hard long rainstorm within a week of placement!!! They even offered me a couple of different options for finishes, cheaper to more expensive! Overall a great company!

Hamstra came out same day and did estimate. They had a great price and are a great company to work with. I have used them before. They ordered and installed the window with no issues at the agreed price.

Mr. Hamstra was prompt and professional, followed through on everything he said. His foreman communicated with me daily, letting me know what time his crew would arrive, what work they would complete that day, and what to expect the next day. Despite the heat, they worked cheerfully, efficiently, and cleaned up very well on a daily basis. We had a trailer parked on our driveway throughout the job, and two different dumpsters--all were removed promptly when the job was complete. Despite Mr. Hamstra warning me that we'd have landscape damage, only one small bush suffered some broken branches, and will re-grow. We have landscaped plantings and a pond, and all survived this major construction job well. Hamstra Enterprises made this experience as smooth as possible for us, and i wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing roof work.

One of my friends told me about them. He was very quick to respond and he was very nice and professional. My mom dealt with him but he talked to me on the phone because he wanted to explain everything directly to the homeowner. He even recommended I get a shingle person because some of the shingles were wrong. He fixed the ones he could and he did a great job. He went above and beyond what he was asked to do. We will call him when we need a new roof in a few years.

I also talked to this company and they were professional enough to tell us that we did not need a new roof for another 3 or 4 years so we said there is an honest roofer; because they could have told us we needed a new roof now because we would not have known. They recommend only what is needed to make the roof intact and they voluntarily said I did not need a new roof yet so I said to myself that when I need a new roof they are the guys I am going to call.

A leak appeared from the ceiling in one of the upstairs bedrooms. I called Hamstra Enterprises to provide an estimate for the repair. The appointment was scheduled for Monday, but the repairman came Friday as he was in the neighborhood. Within 10 minutes the problem was discovered. The repairman had shingles on his truck, and repaired the missing shingles on the roof immediately. It took approximately 1/2 hour. The repairman was polite and efficient. There was no extra charge for coming to the house for an assessment. I have used this company 9 years ago for a leak on the other side of my roof, and have not had a problem with the leak since that time.

He never spoke to me when he came out, he came out and reviewed the property and just sent me a written estimate. Their estimate for the roof was good, but he doesn't do soffit and fascia which was another part of the project that I needed done. He wanted to recommend me to someone else for the soffit and fascia.

My husband called Hamstra and spoke to someone about looking at a leak that we had somewhere in our roof. We figured out that it was our tubular skylight that was causing the problem. He explained this to Mr. Hamstra and he said that he could come later in the week to fix it. I was impressed because it wasn't a huge job, and also that he actually showed up when he said that he would (actually his workers showed up, which was fine because they Really knew their stuff and didn't seem to be bothered by my husband asking all kinds of questions). My husband had called two other places along with Hamstra, but one didin't seem to need the business and never returned his call and the other returned his call, but never showed up. I'm Grateful for this because Hamstra showed up when they said that they would and did an Excellent job. People say everything happens for a reason and I'm glad that the others didn't get back to me. It worked out Great! If you have a job, Big or Small, I Highly recommend Hamstra Roofing.

They did an excellent job. They did excellent work on the shingles and they had to move 3 layers and put a new one down. They were quick and I could see 5 guys jumping around and banging on all the walls. The only problem we had was when they put the facing back on the windows they were messy with calquing. I couldn't get it through them that it wasn't what we wanted. Other than that they did an excellent job and they were quick and efficient. They were neat as well.

Everything was done according to the estimate.
