The Handy Veteran

They installed some sections of the fence along the side of a huge tree with a lot of large roots. They were still able to find a way to get the posts sunk in the ground. When I pointed out a couple of minor issues, Kevin was quick to make sure they were taken care of to my approval. The fence looks great!

We have an old home and shall we say difficult walls. Kevin worked really hard to get them painted just right. There were a few hiccups along the way and Kevin was so professional and so willing to make sure that we were happy with the job done! He just wants to please the customer! We really appreciated that! He did a great job!!. He's a stand-up guy that works really hard!

The project went great! There were multiple obstacles that came up. However, Kevin and his crew handled them without a problem. Kevin hand to come up with multiple adjustments and workarounds quickly. He made keeping to our plan and style the number one priority. It may have taken extra time, but he wanted it done right! Their were no hidden extra costs or fees. What he quoted is what was charged. With the amount of special work arounds many companies would have charged extra, usually with out notifying customers ahead of time. I would definitely recommend him without hesitation. I am also planning to have Kevin "The Handy Veteran" return for a much larger project in the future.

This organization is first class. If I could give them an A+, I would. I have had them out four times now and each employee is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and works fast and good. The last was on 12/12/19 to assemble an air hockey table. Kevin Anderson and his partner did an excellent job and even cleaned up and hauled all debris out. Every time they come out it has ended as an most successful engagement.

We purchased our home with a master bedroom that was down to the studs. The room had never been worked on since the previous owners tore it apart two decades ago. We had hired a contractor based on a recommendation by a realtor, and quickly realized that the work was never going to be completed. It was excuse after excuse! One of our new neighbors had just had some work done and told another neighbor about it. The contractor was the Handy Vet from Fox Lake. We gave them a telephone call and Kevin came out immediately to give us an estimate. We hired him on the spot! The guys dry-walled the entire room, finished the ceiling, installed our laminate floors (they had to level the floor before they could install the flooring), tore up glued down and nailed down parquet flooring and leveled that flooring prior to installing the flooring, finished three closets ... AND put a wood ceiling in for us! We are planning on having The Handy Vet come back again to do some more work. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone! Plus ... We decided to get a new puppy in the middle of the construction, and the guys fell in love with her, too! They were extremely patient with our "training" of little Sammie! We have lots of pictures if anyone would like to see their work.

Best experience we've ever had!!! I'm not one to usually leave reviews,.. but Kevin and his team far exceeded our expectations on every project we threw at him. From finishing a room in the basement, redoing a bathroom, building a fence, and changing out an exsisting railing in the house, to a rustic piece of art. He was eager to tackle it all, and even helped us seek out old barn wood for project ideas we showed him off Pinterest. It's not just his work, and quality, ..which is amazing! .. I'm here to leave a review, because of his patience, care, communication, attention to detail, work ethic, cleanliness, and our overall experience with him and his team. We absolutely will wait and use them in the future.. and trust him with whatever idea we throw at him. We can't thank him enough for making our house,.. our perfect home.

I was incredibly pleased with the professionalism of Kevin, Kyle, Anthony, and Zack. The job was not straightforward, but they approached it creatively and I am so pleased with the final product. They put in a very long day to get the job done; I'd hire them again in a minute. True professionals!

It went very well. Kevin, the owner, assured me they would be able to find the water meter and made time in their busy schedule to send a young man, Kyle, over to do the work. After a couple of false starts and digging around through a musty crawl space, Kyle located the water meter in the ceiling of the basement, of all places. While I was getting discouraged, Kyle maintained a professional, can-do attitude during the project. In addition, Kyle was very courteous and kept me informed during the entire process. I highly recommend them and will be using them again to repair the drywall after the new water meter is installed.

It was very easy to get an appointment and the price was very reasonable. They were very friendly and approachable and the work was excellent quality. Would definitely hire again for more and bigger jobs.
