I can report flawless customer service from start to finish. Eric worked around my schedule (I work full time and often work overtime on Saturday). In fact, I have given him specific dates in the future for potential installation and he has worked with me on those dates. Very accomodating!!! He has been very punctual and respects my time and provides updates as they develop. His crew is also professional and does a great job of cleaning up afterwards. I value a contractor that is honest and shoots me straight. and I feel those qualities describe Eric. I also value his professional opinion. I get the sense from him that he is sensitive to homeowner's needs and seems to be empathetic to a customer that is both cost conscious but also wanting a job done correctly. That is, I purchased this home in 2010 and I knew at the onset I had some immediate things I needed to do. He has helped me prioritize projects, sharing his valuable insight on what should be done when, and giving me his professional estimate of how much time I have before I should look at doing a prospective job. That has helped me budget home improvement jobs. He has educated me without talking down to me. I have other jobs (roof and siding) on the horizon and I will be looking to Eric again.

I signed up for a Big Deal coupon and Eric from Brookside Home Improvement called me within a day. We met the following weekend, where he completed his measurements and gave me a firm quote for the work. He estimated 5 weeks for fabrication and was spot on for the timing. He also pulled the permit well in advance. When the windows arrived, Eric's team was on site at the scheduled time and systematically removed each window, replaced them with the new windows and cauked everything. At the end of the day they left the worksite clean and cleared. The crew (two men) were very professional. I've had the windows for a day, so I don't have any history on longer term performance, but they look great and the low E glass really reduces the heat of the sun. I just signed up to have my back windows replaced with another Big Deal coupon. I look forward to working with Eric and the team from Brookside Home Improvement in the near future.

Brookside Home Improvement replaced all my single pane, metal framed, basement windows with glass block with screened vents for air flow. They replaced 8 windows in less than 5 hours, on a terribly hot day. They were very professional, and detail oriented. They cleaned up so that no one could tell that they had worked there because there was no trash left behind. The next day they started replacing 22 single pane double hung windows that were original to the house. They used Marvin Ultimate Double Hung insulated low "E" Argon Gas filled windows, and were able to do all the windows in less than two days. A third day they worked on installing all the outside insulation and custom decorative trim to replicate the original look of the house. Again, very professional and detail oriented. The next day, they installed two doors, replacing single pane thickness glass paneled doors with Insulated Glass doors. They were fast, neat, and did their work very professionally, cleaning up so that no trash was left behind. The owner of the company, Eric, stopped by to inspect their work and see how things were progressing. When everything was completed, he returned to again inspect what was done, and to make sure I was pleased with the outcome. I have asked them to bid on additional work on my house, including decorative shutters to complement the newly installed windows, and painted aluminum for covering the fascia, soffit and frieze boards around my house.

Eric came to our house, expertly assessed our needs and developed the quote. We had just installed new window treatments and he was able to recommended wood replacement windows that could be installed without remeasuring the window treatments. The quote was very detailed, well organized and sent by email as were most of his following communications. His responses to our emails were timely, he continuously updated the quote to reflect changes and he arranged for us to visit a show room selling French doors because we wanted to see them before deciding to replace them. Overall he afforded us a sense of security that is sometimes lacking after a project has been sold. The price of the entire job was reasonable and the lowest of the three estimates we gathered. Bogdan and Daniel were the two man crew that did every bit of the work. They arrived by 8am with all the supplies needed for each day's work and worked until 6pm stopping only for a very brief lunch. They were skilled, organized, cheerful, communicated clearly when a question arose, worked well with out electrician, George from A+Electrical, who needed to work in concert with the installation of the siding. At each day's end, Bogdan and Daniel cleaned the entire work site thoroughly and hauled away all refuse. The quality of all the products installed, the workmanship and the customer service were excellent. We will call them again to replace more windows or for any other project that is within their service capabilities.

We hired Brookside Home Improvement to replace the siding of our penthouse. Eric Peck, the owner, returned our phone call the same day we called and scheduled an appointment to review the scope of work. Eric was on time for the appointment, provided detailed information on the product he would use and left a brochure with specifications and color samples. We received his estimate a few days later. The estimate was competitive with 3 other estimates we had received. Eric's crew came when scheduled, did a very professional job and cleaned all debris from the site. We are very pleased with the work.

We had originally contacted Brookside to get an estimate on gutter, soffit, and fascia repair. Eric was professional, friendly, and informative, and his estimate was slightly lower than another one we got, so we decided to go with Brookside. We then noticed that they also did window and door work, so we decided to add nine storm windows and a new garage door to the work order. A few days before work began, a storm came through and blew a tree limb onto our roof, so we also hired them to repair the hole in the roof as well as some additional gutter damage. The process went smoothly and we're happy with the end result.

It went well. Eric came out and measured. No pressure. Very personable. They beat Feldco's price by a mile without the high-pressure sales BS, and they rushed the job in by the end of the year so we qualified for the tax credit. We love the new windows!

Brookside's quote was competitive with the other estimates we got on this smaller project. After reconsideration of the options that had been quoted, Brookside was able to quickly requote the changes. Eric and his team were responsive to our calls and emails, and got the custom job done sooner than expected. The job required some reframing and trimming of old, crooked openings and everything looks great. Would gladly use Brookside again.

The job went really smoothly. His crew was highly professional and cleaned up after themselves. They also took extra precautions to avoid lead dust, which is huge since I have young children. These guys are great. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat. And, the windows look fantastic.

Hard workers, who finished in day and a half. Eric very responsive and reasonable to speak with. Garage looks great, and we are very pleased with the workmanship, as well as the appearance of my garage. Eric also gave great tips on what would look best to match our needs, cosmetically. Received earleir quote cfrom Sears, and could have bought a new garage for less. Brookside was reasonable and the right choice. I'd reccommend them for all future needs.

I spoke with Eric on the phone on 7/26/11. He was very professional and told me he would be coming to give an estimate on 07/28/11 at 9:30 a.m. I work shift work on midnight shift, worked the night prior and had been up since 3 p.m. the day before. I was willing to stay up for him to come give the estimate because we are in need of replacement siding due to electrical service upgrade. Eric was not on time. He called me at 9:45 a.m. to tell me he was going to be late, and was apologetic. He probably could have called earlier, as he would've known at 9:30 he was going to be late. When he showed up at 10:10, I was mildly irritated. After he pulled up in his vehicle, he remained in it for a couple of minutes. I exited my home and stood on the front porch in plain view, and Eric continued to talk on the phone. I stood there for a few minutes becoming more irritated, and eventually Eric began shouting and using profanity towards the person on the other phone, which I could hear through his vehicle's closed windows. He was already on thin ice for keeping me waiting for 45 minutes, and his behavior in the car was completely unprofessional. When he finally exited his vehicle, he stepped over a small garden fence I had placed in the parkway to keep people from walking on the grass, as I have had a hard time getting it to grow. He then walked right across the grass. I told Eric I did not appreciate him wasting my time, and rather than apologize, he said, "Well, we all have bad days." I told him he did not make a good first impression. He responded, "Well, I'll just cut this short, then," shook my hand, and left without apologizing or trying to provide what he originally had agreed to do. Eric's behavior indicates to me that he does not care about my time as a potential customer, and he clearly does not want my business. He also exhibited very poor professionalism, both in his tardiness and his conduct while his potential customer was looking on. I will never use, nor will I ever recommend his company for any type of work.

Eric Peck came to our condo for the estimate, and was punctual, personable, and informative. He patiently went over our options and gave his opinions on what would work best. He gave the pluses and minuses of the different window lines, without any sense of trying to upsell us to the top of the line. He outlined the process, let us know what permits were necessary, and on request provided us with insurance certificates for us and our condo board. Once we had a letter from the board confirming that the windows were ours to replace, Brookside sent two workers over to measure the windows. The windows came in 3-4 weeks later. The workers arrived within their promised window. (One minor issue: I would have preferred if the start time could have been set slightly later.) The installation was completed within the day, starting between 8 and 9 and ending around 3. The installers were competent and thorough, and were helpful in addressing some last minute concernes. (The windows as inistially installed bumped a bit in their tracks; the installer shaved down a part to fix it.) I would definitely recommend Brookside for future window installations.

Eric and his crew are outstanding to work with - very pleasant, trustworthy, and knowledgeable. Eric has always given us an honest estimate, followed up with prompt, reliable, service and quality workmanship. We are extraordinarily happy with the quality of product and service that we have received from Brookside. In fact, the last time we used Brookside, I called Eric in a panic because we were remodeling a bathroom and found that an old block window had been leaking, damaging the surrounding area. We needed someone to come out and either repair or replace the window as soon as possible because the walls were scheduled to go up. It was a super tiny job that many contractors would have put off, but Eric sent a crew within an hour to remove, repair, and replace the window. Superb service and a very reasonable price. I will never use anyone else, and recommend Brookside to all of our neighbors (who have experienced the same type of excellent results that we have).

Eric gave me a 2 weeks wait notice and ended up showing up in less than one. That was great. They did all the work as required, they were polite and they worked fast and well. They also mentioned to me that some roof tiles were missing (something that had already been taken care of), so thanks to them I did not have worse damages since it was in an area that I cannot see from the ground. The only thing I was surprised by (but I guess I should have asked) was about some specific repair (putting some extra wood to cover holes) that I had to pay extra materials for. In reviewing this, I have changed my rating of responsiveness to A, Eric was extremely responsive.

The workers were competent and considerate and made sure that the site was completely cleaned up each night before they went home. A year and a half later, we are still extremely pleased with our siding. I feel strongly that Brookside was well worth the premium paid for the quality of the work performed and would recommend that anyone looking to reside their house to make sure they at least get one of their bids from Brookside.

Solicited an estimate to have gutters installed on my detached garage. Eric came out promptly for the estimate appointment. Made the decision to go with Eric based on his professionalism, courtesy, and the fact he had done work in Oak Park before (the process to go thru permits, etc. here is a ROYAL PAIN IN THE A**). Eric listened to my requests as to how I wanted the gutters run, and made some suggestions of his own. Eric took a modest deposit. The work occurred while I was traveling on business - I came home, and they were up! It was a professional installation at a reasonable price.

Eric came spent over three hours with us. He assured us he could do the job. We never heard back from him. This was our first attempt at getting an estimate. We waited and waited. Helped us with our learning curve. Don't wait for your first estimate move on. How unprofessional.

I spent $3124 on that work. The experience was great. The person who came out, Eric took measurements and ordered the exact windows that I wanted. His installers came out and did the job in 5 hours. They put in the 2 windows and trim them and they were very neat and clean throughout the process. They were polite. My windows are beautiful and I love them. I had some problem where one of the crank handles that came with the windows was wrong which they identified and the replacement was also not the right one, but he came out every time and made sure it was right and correct.

I inquired about an estimate for a home I am buying and Eric emailed back this response: We could look at after you close on the home. With this weather it is difficult to replace gutters so the work probably wouldn't be able to be completed soon. Eric Peck Brookside Home.Improvement , Inc. Then I explained I needed a quote so I know what to ask the seller/bank (foreclosure) for and he sent this: We can provide an estimate at a cost of $75.00 and if you purchase the home and we do the work, that amount will be deducted from the cost of the job. I guess they don't give free estimates after all...they won't be getting my business. On a side note I got several responses back from other companies that are more than willing to give me a free estimate. Jeff from Jeff Johnson Roofing is sending me an estimate today! ***Just a note that I was not trying to get an estimate so I knew how much to ask the seller for b/c I bought a foreclosure that was being sold as is*** I really needed work done and I got it from Jeff Johnson Roofing. Brookside posted my address on Angie's List for all to see and I had to contact customer service to get it removed. I would advise people not to trust a company that is willing to compromise someone's privacy and safety!!!

Everything went great. I couldn’t think of a bad thing to say. They were great with communicating with me. They were prompt and professional.

Eric and his staff replaced windows on all three floors of our home. They did an excellent job, were extremely professional, and worked in freezing cold weather to get our windows installed as promised. There were no hidden costs or surprises. They worked on the inside the first day and finished up the outside on the second day. Everything was cleaned up and taken away each day. The windows look awesome!! We are having them come back to fix our roof next. I highly recommend Brookside.

We used Brookside for a single window several years ago. That window has stood the test of time. So we called Brookside again. After consulting with two other highly rated contractors we selected Brookside because the quote was competitive and they used an established window manufacturer with an excellent product and a dependable customer service record. (We can vouch for the service because one day after the installation, a window stuck slightly upon opening. Brookside was quick to contact the manufacturer who came out the next day to check on the problem. It was fixed immediately. Service will not be an issue.) Brookside owner, Eric Peck, took the time to precisely measure the windows and to give us options for the type of windows we wanted. He solved the challenge of meeting Berwyn's stringent new egress policy for our bedroom window (he installed a bar to open our casement window wider in order to meet code). Eric was not hard sell and he let us tell him what we were looking for. He listened to our desire for reliable windows and took into consideration our budget, and presented what he felt met those criterion. Never did we feel as if he was hawking a product just to get the highest profit margin. He gave us the product information and let us decide what we could afford. Additionally, our confidence in the product we ultimately chose was bolstered by his own testimonial — the windows he sold to us are the same as the windows he used in his own home. Finally, the team of two men who installed the windows were courteous, efficient and professional. They finished the bulk of the job in a day with only two hours of work on a second day for finishing. Pretty impressive for two guys. Thanks Brookside. We love our new windows.

This was a very difficult choice. It came down to a coin toss between Brookside and another company on Angie's list. But, we wanted to report that we would definitively call them in the future if we have any other projects. Eric was very professional and came on time. He explained everything and knows his stuff. We would recommend this company on your next project.

I purchased a 50+ year old home As-Is from the original owner to use as a rental property. Although the garage framing was in good shape, it looked like a complete tear down - Gutters rotted through in places, plants and even a tree growing out of them, rotten fascia boards some of which were hanging off the building, animals had eaten huge holes in the back side of the garage in order to nest inside, and there was significant water damage to the siding on the lower half of another side. It was no surprise when the Village required me to fix it within 30 days of closing. However, not wanting to spend $10K to build a new garage for a rental property (even though more than 1 contractor recommended that I tear it down) I hired Brookside to do the best they could. Holy cow did they do a fantastic job!!! And Eric from Brookside made everything happen in the 30 day time frame I had - and this included the week it took me to get estimates from multiple contractors and sign a contract. Eric also pulled the required permit, juggled his schedule to fit me in ASAP, his workers installed the siding on the 2 hottest days of the year (even after warning me that they may have to stop half way through the day due to the extreme heat,) and made sure I passed the inspection on the first try. I couldn't be happier and at least 4 neighbors have stopped me to comment on how nice the garage looks. THANKS Brookside!!!
